I reckon schuey should come back. half the field have not driven an F1 car without TC. he has won titles without TC and I've no doubt TC is one of those things that brought the mediocre drivers up into touch with the good ones. anyway, after all this Kubica will be WDC next year. First polish F1 champ. go you good thing.

cool, I'll add you tonight mate. I did add the other guys too but they haven't accepted yet? quandons etc. just check your clans area and there should be an invite there. god it will be nice to actually play a team game and work as a team. getting sick of being killed by knuckle heads on my own team and basically just having people off doing their own random thing. espcially in the TDM you really need to team up with at least 2 guys (but 3 or 4 is better) then go pick off the enemy as you usually can get them alone or 2 together. same goes for CTF and ZNS too I guess.

well cusco don't make adjustable UCAs for R32s, but they may for 33s and 34s. but basically if you want more camber then you need to cut and shut a standard arm (sounds dodgey but is actually a good solution if done well), or modify the dog bone arms (wouldn't reccomend that). I have the noltec arms too and I get just over 3 degrees with them so they are better but not as much scope as I would like. cusco do make fixed length arms, but having adjustment is a good idea.

forget KT, if you see the infamous beer baron let him have a steer. he has balls like a rhino and is not afraid to back your car into the wall then give you constructive criticism about your cars brakes. -
R32 Gtr And Small Single Turbo (sst) Upgrade
Beer Baron replied to Beer Baron's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yeah well my total engine parts list so far is (and 90% already bought):' R34 Nur N1 crate motor prime garage built head tomei metal head gasket oil restrictor tomei valve springs tomei cams 260/9.15 tomei sump baffles GTS4 diff gears sard 700cc injectors sard fuel rail sard fuel reg nismo fuel pump nismo engine mounts nismo air flow meters HKS GTSS turbos tomei manifolds tomei dumps HKS front pipes trust hard pipe kit apexi power intake kit (thinking of swapping for the FULL trust suction kit) of course lots of other bits like oil cooler, PFC, EBC already in use. But I could flog most of that suff and get a small T04Z or even a 3037 and get similar power. on the other hand the above set-up is what I thought would be best for track, and my head tells me that's probably the case. but my heart says GO SINGLE! tough choice. -
R32 Gtr And Small Single Turbo (sst) Upgrade
Beer Baron replied to Beer Baron's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
well I wimped out and now have: HKS GT-SS tomei expreme manifolds tomei expreme dump pipes HKS stainless front pipes (twin 76mm into single 90mm) twin nismo AFMs all going onto an R34 Nur N1 motor (built by prime garage with head work, cams, oil control mods, metal head gasket etc). will also put in the full Greddy piping kit, and a new ARC intercooler. BUT seeing this thread again has got me longing for a SST or MST... now that my engine is pretty decently sorted I could probably even cope with a SBST (semi big single turbo). or the daddy BST/BFOT. perhaps a T04Z would be good for it? I really only want something between 320 and 350rwkw. So I pretty much want a turbo running at it's peak at this power. No point getting a T04Z and making this power at a pissy 14psi. so the question is: what turbo, running at say 18-22psi will deliver me between 320 and 350rwkw with lots of torque? is T04Z too big in any of the available HKS housing configurations? I also have 4.375:1 diff gears F+R so that will help make the car feel very responsive. -
Tyre Pressures For Falken Azensis Rt215
Beer Baron replied to R32zilla's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
lol, that advice is so far from anything usefull. if we are talking track use look to run around 30-35psi front and rear HOT (probably start about 28-32 cold). if we are talking street use then around 36-38 is good. as for softer suspension on the front and harder on the rear. that is absolute rubbish advice. if anything the opposite is true. same goes for running the car lower at the front. Run the car either even height F+R or slightly higher at the front is the way to go for a GTR. -
yeah well the mercedes/webber relationship has been pretty frosty I imagine since his le mans escapade(s). I think copping the first flip as possible driver error only to have it happen to more times (once more to webber) made it even worse. I mean sure if they had just looked into it properly the first time it happend, instead of blaming webber after which he promptly copped it sweet and got back in the car, things may be different. but I hear that webber and his old man were pretty pissed off and pretty vocal about it afterwards.

if you go into clan, then team members it will show a list of everyone in the clan and whether they are on-line or not, and if so what game they are in. btw that reminds me shodaddy, did you find me then join the game or was it just coincidence we both picked the same game last night? I will try and get on later tonight, just have to see how I go at work.
-
true true. but I would still love to see webber hitch his ride to the maclaren wagon. shame kimi is not still there though. I reckon webber and kimi would have been a cool team.

you wont get 4 degrees neg out of the dogbone shape arms. they may have 4 degrees of adjustment, but about 2.5-3 degrees of that is less neg than stock, and the other 1-1.5 is more than stock (what you want). the most I could get with them as short as they go was about 2.2 or 2.5 degrees, then the two halves touch inside the cuff. if you can be bothered you can take them apart and get someone to cut down each end or do what I did and buy something else. those arms (and most others too) are desinged to correct too much camber on lowered cars so they are great for lengthening the rod, but don't go much shorter than standard

epolly. yes the VR38 is a superior engine. For starters the RB26 was designed in the 80s. VR38 about 20 years later so there has been a fair bit of change during that time. The VR38 is apparently developed from Nissans Le Mans engines so it does have a racing pedigree too. it makes 500hp standard VS RB26 280hp. it has a better oiling system. more torque etc etc. so yes it's a better engine.

yeah cool clan 23 rocks tha house! If we can get up to 8 or 10 members we will be onto a good thing. who here has a bluetooth headset? I have one but have never used it, but I might break it out for this.

you are dreaming if you reckon you can pick up a GTR for $70KAUD. They are around $80K, don't forget 5% sales tax, registration costs etc. then you also need parking, more money. Then you need to export it. hope you have good english and good japanese too. Don't forget you need to pay for the freight. Then you have 10% duty, 10% GST and luxury car tax on top. That's about $20K just in taxes... also unless you ordered this car about 3 weeks ago your delivery wont be until mid 2008 which means the earliest you would be able to export it will be mid 2009 by which time nissan may be selling them here.

I've invited all the guys in this thread and if you guys know anyone else who would like to join let me know and I'll add them too. I think the ranks must have been screwed up. because I was an Air Marshal (one of the highest ranks) and yesterday after I did the update I noticed I'm back down to Airman! lol wtf is up with that!?! anyway, I saw Shodaddy, but I couldn't join your team as I think you guys must already have had one more player (or numbers were even). I think you killed me a few times! lol I think I may have killed you once or twice too. sorry. haha anyway we should all try and get on soon.
-
ok i'm on the ps3 right now. will add u all
-
yep, $1850 with JAL is as good as it gets at that time of year. I'm sure there will be people around, but you shouldn't worry too much. It's pretty easy to find your way there on your own. and no need to buy tickets in advance or anything. just buy them there for about $15.

I would be switching to an ARC or trust cooler. personally I like the ARC cores but have no evidence to suggest they are any better than the trust ones. they are very light though too. I have noticed a lot of the chinese cores are very heavy. the 70mm ARC GTR core is 5.something kilos vs 8.something for the standard calsonic GTR cooler. not bad that you can have a bigger cooler that is lighter too.

Recommend Me Some Good 16x8 Wheels Cheap!
Beer Baron replied to Lukaz's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
yeah 32 GTR wheels are dirt cheap here. I once bought a set for about $350 for 4. and another set for about $500. great choice for a 32 GTST. 16X8, +30 offset. strong, light and look good -
Show Me Your Racing Machines
Beer Baron replied to screamin''s topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
yeah I think it's pi to 4 places. yes castor will have a bit of effect on camber and toe. they all kind of interact with each other as all the arms are pulling in a different plane but all pulling against each other. How are you going to adjust camber? most of the upper arms are near impossible to do with the wheel on, and some are still a bit tricky even with wheel off. eccentric bushes can be easier though. -
Show Me Your Racing Machines
Beer Baron replied to screamin''s topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
I don't know it off the top of my head. but basically you need to mark out on the ground 20 degrees of steering angle both ways. turn the wheel 20* left, measure camber. turn is 20 right, measure camber. do some maths. bingo castor. lol. but it's not so crucial just for stuffing around the know the exact degree of castor. you can adjust just by measuring the rod length. shorten the rod for more castor, lengthen for less. just keep both sides the same and adjust it till you are happy with how it feels. you will probably find the only things you bother adjusting at the track are toe. maybe camber if you are hardcore! -
lol, forget that LM! Buy my nice sep96 S2 Vspec instead! need it gone as I just bought a nissan atlas truck.

they guys making it had friends in tuning shops and aftermarket intercooler factories and wanted to leave them with some work!
