haha, no chance of that I reckon. I've tried 3 years in a row. This year I'm going to tee up a meeting with Biggie Smalls and Tupac. should be easier. The only guy I ever meet thre consistently from SAU is circus monkey and he's from norway for crying out loud!

Blown Turbo On Ex Hpi R32 4door Rb24 Motor
Beer Baron replied to white32's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
It looks like it shattered just due to poor quality material. but obviously something happened to trigger it. either wheel spinning out of balance, or foreign object, but the way it just fell appart is not very encouraging. yes I've seen plenty of garrets fail for various reasons but I've never seen one end up like that! -
Genuine R32 Gtr Ganador Aero Mirrors
Beer Baron replied to Beer Baron's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
sorry subie. I meant to reply but promptly forgot. my bad anyway I've had an offer for the asking price so pending payment they are sold. -
that coverage sucks. poor skaife btw. copped most of the damage. no mention if if the driver was hurt or not. and if hurt was it from the crash or from skaife catching up with him afterwards?

nice! well I'm officialy rubbish. I get 3/4s through an awesome lap only to throw it away somewhere. my best laps are stil a 18 first lap and a 12 second lap but I can never get the two together. I've gone backwards in fact I tend to be in the 34-36 zone now with an off or two somewhere.

nothing dodgey about inboard disks. it's a great arrangement. reduces load on suspension, keeps weight in near the centre of the car etc. very innovative, much like a rear mounted transaxle was. anyway I was only replying to your post below. your post implied we were all talking about having a manual box mounted off the back of the engine. no-one (including ken) suggested that was the case. we all naturally assumed that if you replace one transmission for another it will still be mounted in the same location as the whole car would require re-engineering if it's location was moved. and it's never been done in history I can recall. if there is a manual it would of course be a transaxle just like the DSG currently is. and there is no need to think of a way to mount it, they already have with the DSG.

I don't think it ever will be in the aus store. japanese account is pretty easy. just follow the on screen prompts like you would if doing an english one, but of course you are flying blind unless you read kanji and kana. do a google on "japanese PSN account" if you get stuck, I'm sure lots of people have posted it up over the last year. for email address make up something @spam.la

I can think of plenty of cars off the top of my head that use a manual rear transaxle. look at most 80s afla romeos. front mounted engine, extension housing, rear mounted 5 speed box. if you can put a DSG there you can put a manual there. no way would they be moving to a conventional layout. IF they introduce a manual (and that's a big if) it would be a manual transaxle for sure.

defi do make 52mm gauges but only in the 'defi link' series. Defi BF gauges are only 60mm. yeah you are probably right and the defis are probably not twice as good (even though they are twice the price), but you have to look at them a lot and the defis are very fine gauges. TBH in day light the defi links are better than the BFs anyway. If I didn't already have 4 BFs I would get defi links for sure.

Some New Powerfc Toys To Play With... Maybe
Beer Baron replied to STATUS's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I've heard lots of people say your box has bugs trent hehe. I think the FC will be going for a long time yet. Definitely worth people continuing to develop more products for them. -
post model change R32 GTRs have what is effectively an R33 GTR sized oil pump drive. If the 'flats' on the collar are the same as the flats on your crank then for sure don't fit it. Also, the collar doesn't just slip onto the crank (so I've been told, haven't done it myself). But it makes sense that you would need to machine down the old surface, then fit the collar. what year and month was your 32 GTR made?

No Water = Noisey Water Pump? Or Some Other Prob
Beer Baron replied to GTAAAH's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
ok well radiator is a different story, but possibly still has the same ending. the cooling system is under pressure so it's possible that the blown radiator seal was just frothing up the water as it came out. what does the coolant (you should always use coolant BTW, not just water) smell like? -
R32gtr And R33gtr
Beer Baron replied to BoyWhoCriedWolf's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
32 and 33 GTR both have 4.11:1 front and rear. I can't recally exactly what 34 GTR ones are off the top of my head but if I had to take a stab I'd say 3.9:1. 32 GTS4 are 4.375:1 F+R. -
R32gtr And R33gtr
Beer Baron replied to BoyWhoCriedWolf's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
yep, they are (34 is different though). -
Blown Turbo On Ex Hpi R32 4door Rb24 Motor
Beer Baron replied to white32's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
post the bits back to them with a thank you card. that is a heap of crap. it looks to me like it failed in part due to the cheap arse materials. I mean look at the way the compressor cover backing plate has just exploded. what a piece of junk. -
R32 Intercooler Inlet & Outlet Diameters
Beer Baron replied to Gav's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
ohh, now I have to know!!! I'm guessing between 70 and 76mm. -
I'm pretty sceptical of cheap gauges, and they are very cheap. i've never heard of nordskod, sounds like a type of car built in the ukraine. gauges are pretty important as they relay vital information. I would go for something proven like defi. accurate, peak recall, warning and record mode. they are top notch.

No Water = Noisey Water Pump? Or Some Other Prob
Beer Baron replied to GTAAAH's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
dude, when you say foamy crap coming out the top of your engine. you mean out the top of the cam covers right? or the oil filler cap? if that is the case then you are in a world of trouble I would say most probably you have a blown headgasket. change your oil and see what it looks like, and do the coolant too. -
Coming To Sydney From Melbourne To Buy Car
Beer Baron replied to bLaQ.bOi's topic in New South Wales
unique auto sports, seven hills (blacktown). they do this kind of pre-purchase skyline inspection thing all the time. they will do a full inspection inc road test and compression test for around $250-$300 depending on what exactly you want. they do dyno tests too if you ask. -
Victor Didn't Want A Thread About His Birthday...
Beer Baron replied to sh@un's topic in New South Wales
mmmmmmm dooodz. like my mum says about him: "I wouldn't mind tucking that in at night". happy birthday mate. -
doooood! don't drill any holes anywhere. the external aerial just sticks on the outside of the glass, then you just need to feed a thin wire through a panel gap, seal gap or make a small gap and do through there. there is usually a way. drilling a hole in the screen you can't do as cracks will propogate from the hole, drilling the roof is pretty drastic too. call one of the mobile phone install guys I'm sure they can figure it out easy.

well there aren't any RX7s in GT5 prologue, but the F430 sounds like an F430 (well at least very different to the R35). the R35 sounds pretty good. most of the other cars are pretty quiet as they are all stock so kind of hard to pick them apart. have a listen to the ferrari as you go past, it's pretty good.

also the posting of the press release by prank yesterday helps! http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t191484.html I agree the front is a bit average, but I would say this is one of those cases of function over form. I guess they went with what is best for aerodynamics. It will probably look a bit nicer done up in it's nismo livery.

Tapping/knocking Noise From Rb26
Beer Baron replied to Angus Smart's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yes if your crank pulley (aka harmonic balancer) is 'out of balance' and noisy then my advice is very simple. start saving. check your balance bolt is done up tight, as it comes loose it will make a noise which sounds like a bearing is stuffed in the PS pump or something. it wont take long for the balancer to wreck the keyway it's located on, and if you are really unluckly things only get worse from there.
