  1. same here...lol...first time out if i get there.
  2. oil pump can be had off the forums, or try a wrecker....
  3. If i can get mine back on the road before then troy, ill definitly be out there. Ill pull the finger out and get me suspension / tune sorted....then ill be there
  4. From memory the head porting was around the $200 mark, the rest of the $750 went on dissassembly, and reconditioning... Miltons do know what they are doing though...
  5. cool. I suppose a strraight bit of hose will be ok, as long as it doesnt have any major kinks along the line...
  6. Id say the same as nemz...your wastegate may be too big. From my simple view, the bigger the wastegate, the more air that goes out of the turbo. You want more air through the turbo, than out the exhaust for boost....try a 45mm ext. gate (turbosmart make a 48mm one?) Use Sk's formula to find out what you need if in doubt....ill find the link and post it Here tis : http://www.skylinesdownunder.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=30726
  7. A while ago now...they had em lined up at the back straight. Then they let em go out, and they did do most of the track, but from spectators pov its pretty sheit, as you cant see 9/10ths of the track... Pt. Gawler is a much better track imho
  8. My power steering hoses are leaking. I need to replace the large hose that comes off the bottom of the reservior, that goes/comes from the powersteering pump. Has anyone else done this before, and if so what did you use? I was thinking of going to Pirtek etc, but the hose is one of them factory bent items.... Would a normal length of hose do the same job as the factory bent item? Trying to figure out whether its worth the $90 odd Nissan are asking for it is the hard part thanks
  9. I got the shim kit from Nissan. Shim set - 1 x 41080-40P2(comes with parts 1,2,3 & 4) It didnt come with the clips you need unfortunalty. They are : Retaining clip - 2 x 41090-40P02 (7) You may be able to buy them separatly if you are lucky...
  10. I bought a shim kit as shown in photo 1 below. However, the steel shims in the kit (photo 1, number 2) i bought are not like the ones pictured. The kit contained ones in the handdrawn pics in photo 2 (labelled 2) The ones in pic 1 are exaclty as the same as the ones that came out of my calipers (r32gtr/r33gtst). Are these ok to use, because as show (by the shaded dot) is where the piston in the caliper will be pressing the shims and pad. Hope this makes sense....lol Anyone know if these are the right shims, and can i use em?
  11. Its really hard to know what to use sometimes, as when i rang up racebrakes, I told the guy i wanted mainly street, with occasional track. He gave me some conflicting opinions....firstly he told me to use endless euros? @ $460 odd, the ferodo ds2500 were $260, then rb74's were $160 ish....i had to make my choice based on pricing that he gave me at the time.... If someone had a full list of pricing, and what the pads were for, i couldve ended up with something like you suggested i spose
  12. I understand that you need to choose pads for what you are using them for... If budget was no drama, everyone would be using the top of the line pads....but i cant justify spending $450 + on a set of pads for the street with some track work $250 is still up there, but for the price the rb74's are ($160 odd), ill see how they go for now. If you want great braking power, does it always comes at a cost of the rotors, or the pads being chewed??
  13. Ahh, thanks for that Always good when you know where to look
  14. Howdy, Just done some maintenance to my car - fitted new tie rod ends, new steering rack rubbers, raising the car to 350mm(wheel centre to arch) new front brakes (32 GTR calipers/rotors), whiteline camber kit for the rear, and caster kit for the front. Now I was wondering the suggested settings for mainly a street driven car with a few days out at the track here and there (Mallala open days) I know : Camber - front : ? rear : -0.5 degrees Caster - front : as much as possible?? (im fitting 1 kca331 kit) rear : ? Toe in / out front : ? rear : ? I dont know much as you can see, or what the car is set to currently (its been raised and lowered that many times without a proper alignment it aint funny) Ill post up the settings it has as soon as i get the alignment done, but i was wondering what to aim for when i know how far off i am currently... Thanks.
  15. i just bought some of these, so ill be in the same boat as you as soon as i fit them. I have heard the same advice as you, however, it was said you dont really need them "smoking". Just a few good 100 to 30(or 40) kmh and you should be right. Dont stop completely as its bad for the brakes as well... Id say do it a couple of times to be sure (so you can smell em) and you should be ok.... Let us know how you go.
  16. I have the same problems. My car was tuned a while ago, and max knock reading i got was 10. Recently it knocked its head off when doing a wot run, i looked back and had a big puff of black smoke, knock was 110. When my car was in for the tune last time i had cas problems. My guess is that my cas is playing up again.... I wont know till i go back to the tuner for sure, but your problem sounds exacltly the same, as no one has touched my car. I reckon the timing is playing funny buggers...
  17. north - i think pedders on G.Grove rd seem to be good. Guy there reckons they can setup your car up (camber/caster/toe) for what u want ie Mallala/drift etc...
  18. fixing is my fancy term for what can i upgrade
  19. thanks, i just dloaded the manual, and it had everything i needed Thanks everyone
  20. "Is there a problem officer....?"
  21. Well i had mine done (new 32 gtr calipers) and a seal kit is only $42 Like gts4diehard said, to rebuild them cost $110 (includes gst, and the cost of the kit) So for me the $58 i paid for them to do it was well worth it in the end, as the fully strippeed them, cleaned them, and painted them Well worth doing, and you will find that the pistons are ok, unless your dust covers are falling apart, they will be fine.
  22. you dont need a pump. Cut a length of hose long enough to go from the rear wheel arch to reach the diff. Then feed the hose over the tyre through the suspension, and into the diff filler hole on the side. Now place a funnel into the hose and fill it up
  23. how can that be? Ive got a brand new Delkor calcium battery in my car, and watching the power fc hand controller shows it dip past 9v very quickly when turning the key over?? I agree about checking the condition of evertything before, and during pulling it off though
  24. ok, ive been searching, and Pedders seem the go... Part number : PTE 926 (r32 gtst) He quoted me $72 for both fronts.....
  25. come back to adelaide Troy, and ill give u a squirt in my car....so you can tell me what else needs fixing
