Ahh Mr Maxx. I'm very keen to see you out at Motorkhana's again, might be a little quicker with the auto. ------- I'll give the thread a few more days for a few more to register their interest, see where we are with regards to numbers and then sink some time in to it. As Oosh has said EXPERIENCE.. Of which I don't have so I'll be relying on those of you that have to help get this club off the ground. EDIT: Looks like numbers are quite respectable.. Its looking good.
-
On that note please don't vote if you 'might' be interested. I'm really after some definite numbers.
-
Ahh so its an R32.. Autobarn have them in stock when I got mine. Cost me ~$12 for the top rad hose. How much are RPM charging?
-
Depends on the car.. Update your profile. But usually any autostore who stocks gates hoses will have something.
-
and then guess what.... --- I guess nothing? Let off with a slap on the hand.

Champ Hotwire.. Madaz, Shannons is very central so an excellent choice for a venue. ~20-25km's from the people who live down south; and ~20-25km's from those up at Salisbury/North. Pizza house could be a good venu to start off with until the club grows a little larger where it may become a problem. Not getting ahead of our selves; all this has to be discussed.
-
A decent tuner can also see knock by torque and afr's.
-
Cost... I honestly have no idea. As little as possible, enough to cover costs etc. Lots of research on my behalf of which I have Salad giving me a hand... Any one else who may have a knowledge etc is more than welcome.

There's a bloke wrecking an R33 GTST S2 in Adelaide. Would no doubt be cheaper than a wrecker. I've PM'd you his Number.
-
Yes; just like the other states. Exactly. Fingers crossed we can get something going this time around.
-
I've added a poll.. Don't vote if your not serious and or would refuse to become a financial member as such a club does require small financial backing of which its members provide.

Hey ppls, Setting up an SAU/SA club with a couple of other keen SA/SAUers has been niggling at me for quite some time. For those that are not familiar with the other state SAU club events check out their packed year. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=150338 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=183177 We don't have to have a year as packed as the above 2 event calendars but we would still have the usual: Motorkhanas, Mallala race/practice days, AIR drag days (When it opens up), driver training days, social events, annual dyno day etc Mallala and motorkhana race practice days don't need to be all out; if you wish, take corners hard but take it easy on the straights so you don't have to spend silly amounts on repairs, tyres and brakes. An SAU/SA club like any other club does require one to become a financial member, what the costs involved are I have yet to find out. I/we are currently talking with another states club to find out the ins and outs. Its all about enjoying our cars for what they were designed for in a safe environment. Please post your thoughts and interest.

CEF11E, In the rb30det guide I've included cam specs from somewhere.. I think it was tomei. You'll find the cam centrelines in there. The VCT picks up around 10rwkw through the mid range. Less if you dial in the inlet cam appropriately but it does slightly affect the top end.
-
Don't forget the inlet air temp sensors Mafia.. A critical part of a MAP based ECU if you want it to run half decently. Im still under the impression load is derived purely from air temp and values received from the map sensors. TPS.. I can't see it being useful for determining load especially on a forced induction motor.
-
Any one have a djetro base map I can check out via the datalogit? The afm pfc averages the two afm values and then derives the load value via a 32k constant. The single afm pfc's simply use a single afm value to derive load via a 16k constant. I assume the djetro rb26 pfc runs to map sensors due to the rb26's individual throttle body's for each port. On the rb25 no doubt a single map bridged would do the trick. But why bother.. Just buy the kit. Mafia.. Very keen to see the rb20 and rb30 back to back. The hks3037ProS would = poo on the rb20 unless you run the .6 scroll.

If its running as rich as you say sort it out ASAP as the new cat won't last too long. OR.. wind the boost up a little With stock ecu's and a little boost they don't run 'that' rich. If your still getting soot over the rear bar something is up with the car.
-
Are you sure? Mine used to run so rich that I had ignition break down (well in to the 9's); with a cat it never used to spray soot over the rear bar. The cat in that tune/lack of tune only lasted a couple of months before breaking in to bits and blocking. It wasn't noticeble it was stuffed until we checked the cat out next tune. And it was nackered. So if its running as rich as you say; you cat will be near stuffed.

RB30ET is 7.8:1, RB30E is 9:1. Even on 98pulp they do tend to ping a tad with 15degree's static timing so they really do need an ecu remap which is possible with the vlt ecu's. Or pull a few degree's out of it. The cam specs are also slightly different. Providing the rb30e bottom end is in good nick to start off with there's no reason why they don't push over 300,000km's. Sky30 is a testament to this with the purchase of his s/h rb30e motor that did 270,000km's, pushed 240rwkw through it for ~20k then 300rwkw for another 20k and now 380rwkw. Strong motors providing they aren't detonated/leaned out or over-reved; its all in the tune. I would do it; just be sure to run it up on the dyno to ensure its not pinging its arse off and it will be all good.
-
The black soot over the rear bumper is the lack of a cat.
-
No.. Not unless the old pump was on its last legs and leaning out.
-
Darren.. 272rwkw. ~5psi boost leak I think.. A big boost leak with 10:1+ afr's. Mega rich.

Hi ppls, I've just got another Rb20DET 5speed box fitted up that I bought when my last box decided it was on its way out. Shortly after buying the 20t box I picked up an Rb25DET gearbox that was too cheap not too so have no longer require this rb20det gearbox. I've fitted it to the car so I could hear it running and ensure it was a good box for warranty reasons. Bought from a wrecker only a couple of weeks ago. There doesn't appear to be any leaks/seeps; its a smooth box with no input shaft bearing noise that has no shifting problems when cold. Need it gone so I can put some $$ towards a clutch and get this rb25det gearbox fitted. SOLD You can hear the box running and I will take you for a little drive if you wish.

Teds Camera's has a photo album with photo's taken pretty much identically from all their different camera's. Inside shoots, portraits & macro. From the photo's the Canon's by far have best white balance, exposure and saturation. Which isn't surprising as canons make awesome DSLR's so they have the technology down pat. The olympus's aren't far behind but tend to look a little too bright. Kodak simply nasty as. Sony; from memory wasn't bad but the saturation was a little out. Head down and check out their photo album, the sales staff (the one that I got at Marion) knew his stuff. More mp isn't always better. They also offer a 30day return and swap for another camera if your not happy with how the camera works. i.e poor not up to scratch inside shots etc..

Darrens Muppet Bus was dropping boost so going mega rich and only ran a 272 or something. I ran 262 with a slightly wavey top end with 15psi. Fingers crossed its not valve springs; I'll replace coils and plugs first; see if that helps if not the head is coming off again to get that seat pressure up from the supposive 35pounds to 75-80pounds.
