  4. hey mate do you have any more info on this? Can you just use Ubuntu? Also I've heard that linux on PS3 has trouble running .mkv files, and can't read NTFS. It would be pointless to use it as a media centre if you can't do these things.

  8. You will cut sick. It's design is very reminiscent of the early SF so you will have no problem picking it up.

  10. The most reliable mechanic i've found would be Insight Motorsports, but really any mechanic can do a half arsed job if they are not in the mood.
  11. My car had an IMPUL piggy back ECU. It was making decent power but leaning the engine off it tits due to it being tuned for 102 octane (Jap premium). Not sure if the mine's computers are tuneable but this one certainly wasn't, so it had to go.
  12. How many cars would they need if they had 300 drivers? How do you know that the HP of all the cars are the same? What if your car isn't performing as well as the others, do you get your money back?
  13. Hey guys, I have a semi-related question. My car is insured by Just Car, and when I bought it I insured it as being bog stock. Since then I have done the suspension, new turbos, ECU, wheels, exhaust, EBC, and a few other bits and pieces. So firstly, If I go to put in a claim and they find the car with these things on it will they be able to back out on making a claim? Also, if I do ring up Just Cars and tel them, will these extra parts make a significant increase in my premium?
  14. I have a ViPEC with a Greddy EBC. Works fine I guess. I was told standalone EBC's function better than the Vipec's but I can't see there being much of a difference, other than being able to switch from high to low.
  15. How long is a piece of string? Some guys turn up with massive transporters, have two engines on standby along with spare gearboxes etc, and a set of tyres for each qualifying session and race session. We turn up pulling the car on a trailer. We budget about 2-3K for each meet, which includes fuel (102 octane) tyres and a few other incidentals. Engine needs a rebuild say every 4-5 meetings, same with gearbox. We can only make the Sydney rounds now at the moment but we usually make about 4-5 races out of the 8, so its hard to say exactly how much it would cost for the season. It's a same make series so it makes the racing a little more interesting, as its an even playfield (theoretically speaking, money is always an advantage)
  16. We actually built and run a Commodore Cup car as well, so I'm well aware of the expense that is required to be successful in these categories. I was more just looking to do clubsprints in the car, and than possibly progress later into something like 3J or 3E, but it sounds like it would be best to stick with the Commo for door-to-door and just have some fun with the GTR

  18. I have the Phat PSP and tried to work out how to use custom firmware but I didn't get very far Are there any FAQs or anything like that? Not sure what firmware update I have i'll have a look when I get home.
  19. After reading through the IPRA forums it sounds like what you guys say is right, a competitive GTR will cost a lot of money. And a sports sedan would have to be making some ridiculous power to be anywhere near competitive. What's the Sports Car category? I've never heard of it. And how do GTR's perform in 3e?
  20. What are the required specs of an R32 GTR running Improved production? Had a look at the CAMS regs and they weren't much help. Apart from the obvious things such as rollcage, fixed seats, battery relocation etc. what are the restrictions on it, as far as brakes, turbos, boost level, cams, injectors, suspension, ECU, gearbox and other engine modifications are concerned? It's just that I am in the process of taking the engine out to extend the sump, and don't want to overengineer the car to the point where it won't be eligible to race sometime in the future. Also, does anyone here race in it? I noticed the BSM GTR is successful, but that's the only one i've seen out there! Cheers!

  23. Excellent, some photos would be great. Also have you fitted this particular kit to any GTR's? If so any fitment problems? Also is that bonnet a Do-Luck Bonnet? Are you able to get them as well (in CF if possible).
