Apparently this connection is pressed in, on an RB20 at least. I hear once they are this shagged they are easy to take out, buy a new one and tap in with a mallet. Anyone confirm or deny for a S2 25DET?

For a daily with a boot and back seat either 2/4 door 34 turbo. If you want to mod for loads of power and only ever want one passenger and nt doing shopping or anything then Supra. Dont get me wrong you can get power out of the NEO but all depends what your idea of loads of power is. 300rwkw is a lot for a rwd daily and can be had with the NEO engine.

All parts are used and located in Sydneys Greater West. RB25DET S2 Cam cover set incl coil pack cover $100. R33 turbo brake discs, front pair $50. GKTECH (from when he first started out) FMIC 600*300*76 3"in/out, average looking condition but no leaks $50. HR31 front bar, S3 in pretty average condition has been cut up to fit FMIC. Offers over $50. HR31 Air con condensor and hard lines (under bonnet lines) $100. I do have the compressor but can't get it off the engine bracket. S3 R31 headlights with globes. Came off an HR31 GTSX. All mounting brackets are there and lights are in good condition $100 o.n.o. Will post cam cover set at buyers expense, other parts are pick up only due to size or wieght. Post here, PM or phone 0451 838 976. Can send pics in a message but SAU won't let me post pics from my phone due to file size.

Best First Skyline For Under 7'500?
FordyR31 replied to jack Jv's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Problem with R31's is that they are up to 10 years older than a 33. If its an Aus model then yeah you will find a nice turbo example for 7. May be RB30 or RB25. A nice modified HR31 may go for 7 which is a shame. It may still have the RB20 or a 25. When you get into the Import 31's parts can be pretty expensive to buy and some are just damn hard to find. Stick with a 33. Parts are everywhere, they are cheaper, car has newer/better technology and you spend less to made them go well. -
If I am said idiot, the hyundais I have experience driving are I20, I30, Elantra I-max and Santa Fe Highlander RE2.2. The highlander has the most k's at 100,000 and the interior is now shithouse, seats are uncomfy and you can feel the head rest stems in ur back when u put ur head back, which u want to do as the head rest sits at an uncomfortable forward angle. The I models are terribly underpowered, the sterring and brakes are vague at best. They all seem to have between 40,000-55,000km. One of the Elantras has a transmission problem that hasnt been fixed in the 5 times it has been taken back. Its an auto and extremely clunky in and out of 1st. Just some of my experiences with Hyundai. Not an opinion based on what someone else has said or typed on the net. But actual real life experiences. The cars have reverse sensors and/or cameras. Some have sat nav that doesnt work properly and the radio on the santa fe is either on mute or a level that u have to talk over. The Corolla is Australias number one selling car... Right behind the Mazda 3. It is however the worlds number one selling car. I had a 2011 model and didnt like it. This appears to go against your opinion/experience which I see you dont like. Again. Sharing an experience. The Fords we own are great so far although they are still pretty new. I hope they stay that way but early impression are much better than other cars mentioned. Just thought to point out that I'm not comparing a new car against one with 40,000+km. I test drove lots of cars before making my choice and it seems the cheaper cars, Hyundai and Kia etc load the cars with features simply to get them out the door. 90% of cars are pretty good when new but after only 40,000 k's you dont want to be driving something crap.

Just going back to Hyundai and the technology thing. They sell cars packed with features for a good price. We have Hyundai cars for work and after 40,000km there is no way I would buy one second hand. They are a terrible car inside, horrible to drive and need more maintenence than most other cars (except the Holden Cruise). People are looking for what they can have now and not what its going to be like in 2-3 year time. The Skylines are like anything. They stopped making the RB skylines so like everything in Japan, get to a stage of rock bottom prices and eventually will rise again. Especially being such an influential car. HR31's are finally rising and the R33 gtst is about at rock bottom. I tried to support Ford and my gf and I bought a car each. Love them so far. Hopefully doesnt end up being the 2-3 year lemon. I know some BA's had issues but hopefully those are sorted by the FG

Holden won't be far behind. The Broadmeadows plant is simply massive. Definitely one of the top 3 buildings size wise I have ever seen, bigger than most International airports. Sad that so many people will be out of work coz of this. Does this mean the end of the Falcon then?

Best First Skyline For Under 7'500?
FordyR31 replied to jack Jv's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Forums are the best place to buy. There is usually some sort of history to be found, others could have seen the car at cruises and the seller is most likely to be honest about the car. Under 7k. Besr bet would be a 33gtst. I personally prefer the look of the 32, its a little smaller, a little lighter but the 25 imo and many others, is a better engine to drive daily unless u dont mind less torque. 34's are coming down in price but better performance again than a 33 so your usually looking at 10-15 for something decent. Plenty around so good luck -
Quickest Semi Reliable Car For Around 10K?
FordyR31 replied to hop1308's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Spend a little extra and get an XR6 turbo? Pretty good starting platform and better out of the box, power wise at least, than a 34gtt -
CAMS FTW. This track can't come soon enough
-
And a VL? Could of photo shopped that out.
-
Can anyone confirm if these baffles inside the cam covers are the ones that will clear or interfere on a S2 RB25DET. Standard xams and vct all in place

Answer I was hoping for. Thanks

Is it possible to weld to the plenum? Have thought, if you can, about grinding the rusted pipe off and welding a new pipe on to fit the hose to. Dont really fancy jamming a pipe in. Thanks for the reply.
-
I have a small coolant leak I wish to fix before it becomes a major one. The join that slips inside the top radiator hose which the hose clamps to has become rusty and has deteriorated away. It looks to be part of the factory inlet plenum. Just wondering if these are repairable/replacable or if its easiest/cheapest to replace the plenum. Search found me nothing relavent. Thanks
