    I have done the mod u described in my 32R, pretty much same thing, ditched front and rear solenoids and associated pipes, de-pinned the green wire from smaller of the Hicas plug that trigger the cluster light Sorry to hear bout ur issues, have u isolated what's knocking., u welcome to try my Hicas ecu though I'm near parra

    Custom Tomei Poncams to suit R34 GTR 9.25mm lift approx. 270 degree duration (reduced base circle) Cams were custom made by Tomei for Tommy Kiara full R-Z 530PS engine package. The numbers on the cams are A2692N and A2692R. These are little too big for my current gtss turbo setup. $500 pickup (western sydney)

    could be the headlight rotary switch, its has pots inside that can melt with heat over time, u can disassemble and check
