  1. Hows things like plugs ? timing belt not incorrectly installed by a tooth or something ?
  2. could the thermostat have failed restricting coolant flow ? check to see if it works first! Rip out thermostat, Boil a pot of water with thermostat in there. Quickly whip it out to see if its opened up

  5. well at least try and turn a negative into a positive. I lost my licence back in 92 for the 3 months. Yep I had to catch the train and get up an hour ( or more )earlier. Managed to save a lot of cash and when I finally did get my licence back, I was a whole lot smarter for it. My driving habits changed, started driving a whole lot slower. No more single wheelers on a wet road etc.. The painful sacrifice of losing my favourite hobby being driving changed my ways...i hope it changes yours
  6. I drive along that road most nights of the week. I do regularly see a white GTR usually parked around near the shops at croydon park, One thing I do know is that that road as it has only just been resurfaced is apparently a bit of a hot spot for late night drag racers of late.Which may explain why he wanted to run you so badly

  11. what size Amplifiers are you running to power the whole sound system ? I mean if its one really huge MoFo of a sound system then you could be using more power than the alternator is capable of putting out. When you drive the car at Nightime does the Bass dimm the headlights and inst cluster lights to the Beat ?

  13. Just out of curiosity have you ever tried taking out the coil overs and having a go with standard suspension ? Coil overs are generally way too firm, specially if they are in the car from Japan. Those guys love using spring rates on the street that really should be track only
  14. I see a lot of those PT's that you are referring to but those guys/gals are usually catered toward Physical rehab type work. Personal or work injury etc... I guess if you are going to do it to make decent money catering towards the Bodybuilding side of things then a fully loaded Physique is probably going to be a decent asset. In other words the huge freaky big guy will get more business than the thin type guy. Most of the guys I know who do it usually have it as a second job...So I dont really know how you would go relying on it as a prime source of income....   15. And it will only be worse on fuel on the highway. from my experience dropping diff ratios actually improved economy in normal stop start driving conditions. There are a lot of wives tales about dropping diff ratios usually told by know it all old guys... Crap such as " It will get off the mark faster but its got no top end acceleration " Well from my experience thats crap....You will feel gains at every speed. As for having no top end ? I found that I had a lot more top end acceleration.I wouldnt worry too much about it revving harder as you got an overdrive gear already.. If it only revved 500 rpm harder on the freeway for the same given speed then thats quite acceptable. But the difference in acceleration you would be much happier with.. Go to a diff specialist and see what they quote you. Dont let some hack mechanic do it as if its not set up correctly you will have the annoying howl coming from it...not good
  16. lightened flywheel - you will notice some difference Shave the head a few thou to bump up the comp a little will help also lower diff ratio has always been my favourite mod for gains Cold air/ RAM air intake Anything more than this and you start talking big work and big $ I would have recommended a bolt on Supercharger ( VT Commodore EAton M90 ) but that will need tune and many other mods so still wouldnt be cost efficient compared to a whole turbo motor swap other than that a tune maybe ?

  22. So i guess then its safe to assume that both supras and Skylines in NA dont run relatively high compression ratios 10.5:1 or anything like that then...?
  23. I fail to see how a turbo car of the same model can have better fuel economy. NA is always better on Fuel. Turbo cars run lower compression than NA equivalent...The only instance i can think of where a turbo car would be better on fuel would be if it were a diesel....high compression engines will always have better fuel economy than Turbo unfortunately

It all depends on what you are referring to as loud music...If loud means screaming tweeters and ringing ears than yes it can be dangerous you wont hear other vehicles...However if its thundering bass you listen to.....I know from one of my cars I had a few years ago I had 4 x 15 " Orions subs in that and as defeaning as it was for some reason you could still hear other sounds around you very clearly..The Bass is such a low frequency that it doesnt cancel out other sounds....But I would be more concerned with industrial deafness...
