I have the tomei stroker hidden in a GT block.
Turbo's are HKS GT RS's with Tomei Procams 270 @ 10.25mm with a ported head.
Fullboost (1.65 bar) @ 4800 RPM in 4th (give or take 100 RPM)
Wouldnt change a thing. At times i wish i had maybe 2530's but it really isnt that bad.
Off the top of my head
V spec is 10 mm lower
Slightly stiffer suspension
A-LSD light on the dash
Active rear LSD
Quicker ATTESSA (ATTESSA - Pro VS ATTESSA)
Thats all i think
Motor is all the same. Gearbox the same
It's primarily a street car but i did take it to wakefield once. Ran without any problems at all, even after 25 laps @ 1.6 Bar and oil temps reaching 120 degrees.
Motor has been built with 2 thou clearences.
Well In my car, R33 GTR with the Tomei stroker kit with NON cooling channel pistons running GT-RS's at 1.6 bar and ive never had a problem. It was built by another member off this forum who happens to be a very close mate of mine. So unless you looking for over what the RS's can produce power wise I cant see you needing them. The car to date has run a 11.2 @ 130 MPH so it aint no slug!
Tomei 2.8 litre stroker.
Same kit for both RB25 and Rb26 motors
77.7 mm stroke
119.5 mm rods
either 86.5/87/87/5 mm pistons with either non cooling or cooling channel pistons.
Convience? What about your diff, gearbox and what ever else. Turbo's aint the only thing that should be cooled down. If your fanging it up until u get to your destination then more fool you
Waste of time and effort IMO.
Step 1 just has forged pistons without the coatings.
Step 2 has - a nickel plated & piston surface has a final molybdenum coating.
Step 3 has - nickel plated & piston surface has a final molybdenum coating as well as 22 mm pins
All cranks are full counter weighted.
^^^
On the PFC the knock with 1.6 BAR (GT - RS's), 9.0:1 comp is about 15.
What the hell is wrong with Shell? I just sent them an email about having it only available at so few places within the state. Proberbly falling on deaf ears!!!!.
Bah.
This is rediculous!. In the whole of NSW Shell only sells racing at 8 servo's!
Im not too keen on running 98 with the "boosters" on a built motor.
Cheers for the quick reply
Hey guys.
A few mates and myself are having a day out on the track in a few weeks time down at Wakefield. I, myself have a R33 GTR that has been tuned on Shell's V power racing. I had a look on shells website last night and noticed that the Goulburn servo doesnt sell it.
For those who's cars have been tuned on this fuel and have been to a track day how did you get around not having enough fuel for the day?
I dont want to have jerry cans in the car on the way down.
I didnt build my motor but my comp ratio is about 8.9: 1 running twin HKS GTR RS's with a 2.8 litre stroker. No pinging problems at all.. Highest i see on the power fc is about 14, bottom end is great. Wouldnt have it any other way.
