  4. If you are trying to save dollars then personally I would dump the idea of running a thermostat. Nowhere in Aus is cold enough to justify needing one. Especially since most of us will idle the car for 30seconds and drive the car lightly for the first few minutes which means low road speed and bugger all airflow through the cooler. I have run without an oil cooler for 11 years on my R32 and no stress. I live on the East cost including areas like Richmond NSW and CBD Melbourne.

  7. I have been trying to make Goodwood but timing doesnt match up. Last year I was in the UK when they had the historic race meet and you get all dressed up in vintage clothes etc. Was going to go but my friend and his Mrs who were going with me pulled out...plus I was flying out the next day so I just hit the drink instead
  8. Hank touched on it...you dont need to touch your brakes. Look at putting some new, performance shocks and springs in the car and put on 595 RSR or better tyres on. Brakes don't give you stopping power, increasing the level of grip increases your braking power
  9. One comment I will make is you either need to have a pretty cool Mrs or single for motorsport holidays. So many of my mates want to join me on mine but usually get pulled up spending the money on anything but mortgage, children etc.

  12. Got a dyno sheet? There has been some interesting discussion on how much the TD05-18G can make. Is yours an external setup or internal? Love to know what it will make on pump
  13. Nice work...What are the plans for the upper arm? Are you using std geometry just with new picks ups due to the tubular fromt end or are you changing the arm lengths, points, geometry ... the whole show?
  14. Where did you read that? If you have a think about it then it cant be true. There may be some small improvements in less frictional losses and uniformity of flow....but 30% ?

  19. If you are patient you can get the housings. If mine wasnt brand new I would lend it to you. Keep an eye on ebay and auctions
  20. Well, my motto is money is only important if you don't die tomorrow! So The E30 is a pretty much sure thing. If I can get a Sagaris as RHD car into the US and it is counted as a private import with regards to bringing it back to Aus then that may be the go. But odds are it will be an E30 to keep and perhaps something else as something to try and import and turn a profit...so dont really care what it is as long as its fun to drive/own for 12 months in the US and doesnt cost a fortune in parts when I break it at whatever tracks I get to...of course this is all assuming i can keep my Russian bride employed and bringing in the coin
  21. Really depends on funds. I really need to stop buying mid price shit boxes and stop the cash burn on cars. At the moment I am thinking E30 EVO III M3, and a Viper of C4 ZR1. Love to get a ZO6 but need to get something I will flog off and think a Viper would be the way to go. Will keep the M3, and maybe the ZR1....but yeh. Will have to consider a cheapish car I can keep or a car I can flog for a small profit to help pay for a mancave. (which is the main reason for going OS with work...try and get some cash together because of stupi real estate prices)
  22. For what? As for living the dream? I wish! I hate having to travel to earn a dollar in my industry. In the last 10 years I have been OS for 4-5 years of it in countries most people would be happy to holiday in for 10days Living the dream would be a job, a house and my cars. Not a career, bad health and impulsive automotive buys to make up for everything being pretty shitty
  23. I am trying to pump up the wage offered for a US project. The first thing I will be doing is getting an E30 M3 as a daily. Its a two year contract so have the opportunity to do two private imports from the US
  24. I need to get my R32 back in the garage where it can fight for my attention. Found out this morning I may be adding an E30 M3 to the collection as well
