  1. My entry is in for the sprints. With caibre of cars expected it wil be one of rhe heavier, less powerful cars but Winton is always a bit of fun. Got the Ford entered in show and shine so suppose I should get it detailed, but really need to win one of thos Castrol packs of oil so I can get it back to Melbourne...
  2. Those looking to do this should read the whole thread, more to it then simply machining brackets
  3. This is what I am hoping. Williams and Lotus now have Renault engines...Renault want a French driver in F1 and may help Grosjean into Williams or Caterham-Lotus. Problem is both teams have signed drivers...which leaves Renault-Lotus and really this is his best chance as he knows the team, engineers etc. Question is can Bruno shine enough that any money he brings means will mean he gets the seat that Kubica is odds on vacating. Grosjean or Senna...answer is pretty clear to me but Grosjean isnt from money or second generation F1 family
  4. I shoudl get bonus points for tipping Hamo as an outside top 10 finish. Come on Webs, i not dare not tip you for the win...dont make a liar out of me
  5. Listen to you bunch. You want your race car drivers to use a 3rd pedal and column shift but you all pine over an overweight Auto R35 with all the usual fish finders, electric toothbrushes etc such cars come with
  6. Thinking about it his starts cost him the WDC last year. He was on the front row in Valencia, at the end of the first lap he was 10th or something and ended up hittinh Heikki and a DNF. His Spa start last year cost him the win. His start in Malaysia cost him the win But i still luvs ya Webz
  7. Interested to hear how much. I went through a similar exercise recently and the numbers meant it was better to buy locally
  8. That is retarded money for old things with live rear ends!!!!
  9. Sop those that did the test day, is there any chance of damaging your cars simply due to ride height or track surface?
  10. The clutch, diff settings can all be adjusted in accordance with an engine map that stops you turning the tyres. What you cant do is monitor front wheel speed relative to rear and alter the engien map in a closed loop configuration
  11. Yep...if you watch the practice sessions you always see them all lining up on the grid practicing launches so they can get their clutch settings right. But interestingly they are always running on the harder tyres, not the options which they start the race on. Thing is with Webbers starts are his reaction times are always on the money-good. Its the clutch slipping too much or not enough. Surely that is something they can work around and find a solution for.
  12. Ash, really??? Do not going to Bunnings. Bunnings will not be able to sell you the right pitch and grade of bolt. Go to somebody like AJAX, Coventary, Hobson fasteners etc and order Grade 12.9, zinc coated bolts. Typically they are more readily available in cap head (allen key) heads but Hex heads are available as well
  13. is one day any more relaxed then the other re - noise
  14. I am keen to do driver training if anyone is inerested.
  15. Looking at My105 and it appears the BSM GTR is back up for sale and pretty cheap
  16. If you want comfortable shocks that with a good alignment and sway bars will give good ride height then look at Koni yellows. The Bilsteins will ultimately end up with a sharper handling car, but anyone that runs Bilsteins will tell you they are valved pretty high compared to std or Koni yellows, meaning they give a rougher ride, even with soft springs
  17. Every two weeks I look for a TD05H-18G with an 3" inlet to trial on an RB20. I suspect with an external gate setup it wont suffer the boost drop off the 2530 does and with a little more compressor flow then a 2530 coul dbe a good 230-250rwkws turbo for an RB20 with 20psi up it. Interesting to hear who has done 20,000-30,000kms on this Kando turbs? If they are proving reliable over plenty of kms I may try him to get an 18G made up, but would need to be a Greddy 3 bolt rear housing.
  18. Kub couldnt put Heidfeld into retirement and look at his results alongside Petrov... Kubz would have been an interesting one...was he a Fisi, able to make poor cars look god but suck in top equipment...or could he have gone on with it??? I cant see him returning so maybe never know
  19. Sorry,. at first I hated Lewis, I thought he was arrogane and also had an issue with his no.1 fan on this forum, being m3GTR or whatever his name was But the past 18 months I have warmed to him...and whilst I am still a critic, he has shown that he can dig just about deeper then anyone else on the grid and pull out amazing results. PROBLEM 1 is he is too busy thinking about hgis legacy now. He comes up to somebody, and instead of being methodical and trying tp pull a move he sails up and does dangerous things....all to hopefully be remembered as a great overtaker in a period where it doesnt happen. The catch is he is looking like a hack with frequent binnings and clashes. He is no Button, Webber or Alonso who this year have been driving through the field with no clashes. PROBLEM 2 is he hates Vettel coming along and breaking his records and for the forseeable future smashing any hopes Hamilton had of winning multiple WDCs and setting records for winds, quali etc etc. At the moment he looks like a single WDC and needs to get his head out of the clouds, knuckle down and concentrate on a campaign that lasts a season. At the moment I think I would much rather see Rosberg at McLaren , who shows maturity is his drives and really springs to mind as the most deserving guy in F1 at the moment for a better seat. He woul dbe ready to put his bum in a race winning car and probably do the job. So, Hamo....how many seasons has he been in F1 with a race winning car? And he has 1 lucky WDC to his name, which in my eyes should be Massas...and that is saying a lot. He isnt going to grow up as a driver....which means we are set for years of great viewing and carnage...and time to time dangerous driving. Hell, he was motionless after the accident and I had a sick feeling that something had gone pearshaped....he needs the same moment of wakening. As for Webbers move, it was a good move, but Alonso had no grip and there is so much run off there now that tweo mature drivers werent going to clash there. You would have had to have rocks in your head to try that on Hamo...after all think back to German GP, he said "No way Webber was going to go around the ourside of me" ... then laps later puts it around the outside of Alonso claiming he is a great overtaker. He knows he needed the co-operation of the other driver to make it work....and he isnt willing to let go for others but expects so in return. LOVE to see him get booted for the likes of Rosberg. Not going to happen but a boy can wish
  20. Yep, panel beater painted it black but still the same pipes, also got the HKS piping from the old Type S cooler
  21. I think one of the highlights of the season so far is the battles Webber and Alonso seem to be having every GP. Every race they seem to be together on the track putting moves on one another, and all of them clean.
  22. What is with the use of thew word "Battle" ? I dont get it and seems a bit ... yeh I wont bother as I think I am the only one that finds it odd
  23. Was interesting to hear the BBC commentary stand up for Hamilton. I thought it was his own doing as plenty of people hang in around the outside and gain position at that part of the circuit. Good race, will have to wait another few weeks to see if Webber can get a race right
  24. errr. i was joking re Hamo. And Grosjean just bagged the GP2 title so interesting to see how Senna goes and whether they give Grosjean a go now he has bagged the championship. I hope they give him a go
  25. Shaw Phillips... I was close in my mid 20s...now in my mid 30s I am nowhere near him. Ok, time to put down the beer bottle
