  1. Cutting the ass out of the strut tower like that isnt a no-no from a strength perspective?
  2. I am selling my 4 point R32 roll cage. It was manufactured in mid 2007 and whilst in car has never been involved in an accident so no issue with the cage being damaged. Includes harness bar and bolts/comp pads for underside of car etc. The cage is manufactured in compliance with CAMS/FIA requirements for roll over protection. Is legal in Vic and meets the requirements for Vic Roads if you remove the rear seat, rear seat belts and change registration to a 2 seater. I am selling as I am going to go for something a little more comprehensive. This cage has served me well as it does not limit access to the rear seats so when commuting to track days can still fit tools and tyres in the back seat. Asking $520 pick up from Melbourne. Can arrange free delivery to Sydney over Christmas
  3. Syntrans for me. I run a std RB20 gearbox which now has 198,500kms on it and have run 150rwkws for the first 120,000kms. 215rwkws for 25,000kms. Then 250-270rwkws for the next 50,000kms and since about 120,000kms have only used Syntrans. I dont abuse the box, but I dont really nanny it either. And the car does plenty of motorsport too so, its only an example of one car and gearbox...but where appropriate its the only gearbox oil i will use
  4. $100 or they will be going into a metal scrap bin to be slowly chopped up for other cooler piping bits
  5. Will let go for $360 pick up or + postage
  6. So is it still twin T67 OS Giken goodness?
  7. They dont fit as though they were designed for it, because they werent. But they do fit and they do a good job You can run the stock Skyline rims with a 324mm rotor if you throw away the Sumitomo caliper and throw on an Indycar or other motorsport type caliper that really hugs the rotor and needs little clearance. You cannot run the Sumitomo caliper with a 324mm rotor under a 16" wheel. Just like you cant run the R33/34 Brembo brakes under a 16" wheel I suspect you are speaking to the right people in UAS. John is a but of a brake whore himself and along with their partners in Sydney engineer a lot of components for imports. Real questio is, what do you do with your car to warrant an increase in brake rotor size? Just run better pads and fluid
  8. In Richmond, just off Swan St at the back of the station
  9. What abour rims Dane. What rims does the old girl ride on and are they being sold?
  10. So how did it all go?
  11. But how does it look? Is it just a big lip at the top of the guard, or has the whole guard been pumped to try and keep std look/proportions, but closer to GTR etc. I didnt want that drift spec lipped guard... Because with wide tyres it may clear with rock hard suspension but was concerned that over the stroke of the suspension I would still be cutting tyres. So tried to pull the whole guard out and put a bit of a flare on it. Here it is with the 18x9.5 +12 with 265/35/18 semi slicks Maybe i was expecting too much by not wanting the drift spec lip, which would look a bit silly given the ride height i run my car at! I suspect we are talking different things and therefore different results?!?!?!? I think since 255s are as about as wide as they go with 17" semis then I may just stick with a 9" or 9.5" in around +22 offset. Will wait to see all you other folk think of your little GTSts being quicker/slower with the extra weight of the 18" rim and wider semi...(not to mention anal sepage over cost)
  12. So what was with Vettel being the last car out of the pits in Q3 for the bulk of the last races of the season? Giving him the ideal track conditions and position to do the best he could in quali? What is with Vettel doing the testing on the new Pirelli tyres on both days the other week. There are other things which I won mention as I dont think they are as clear cut, but the above are clear times when Vettel is being given favour/advantage. Alonso and Button have it 100% right when they say that you can be equal number 1s but still be a number 2 when it comes to track position for quali, pit strategy in the race. Direction of development of car etc. I dont think its as bad as some made/make out in the RBR garage, inluding Mark who probably made a few too many statements knowing the media woudl run with a certain angle of what was said. But early in the year it ws Webber last out for Q3, then Vettel. The flip side is that RBR worked hard to get a lighter chassis to Webs because of his height and weight compared to Vettel. But the same equipment came to Vettel a few races later with his new chassis. I think the biggest thing is the lack of emotion on the pit wall when Webber gets up. It is obvious on several occassions when Webber won that the emotion wasnt in their voices....small thing but just like in a work place when your best efforts are not perhaps as appreciated or recognised as others....then it can mess with yoru attitude and is draining/distracting.
  13. I didnt want to talk about it too much , but was actually testing for Force India when working in Hyderabad. My speed was obvious, but my appetite for armco and curry meant if I wasnt bending the car I was damaging the dalton! I tell you one thing though, I amy not be able to drive but I would be doing my best to look like the love child of George Best raised on the road by James Hunt! ...I am ready for a thread name change to "How many GPs does Lewis have to win before Nicole's dress strap has a catastrophic failure and we see cougar boob?" as for Webber being nowhere by end of 2011?! ! We will see. I think it depends a lot on how pissed off he is and whether he has even more "tackling fuel" in the tank. Webber has shown he is better in a compromised car then Vettel, even though he is a fraction of a second off him in quali pace. So if the new tyres mean the cars are a bit more sensitive my money is on Webber enjoying 2011 like he did the middle of the 2010 season. As for overtaking, he passed more cars then anyone in Aus, but his Hamo move ruined it. He raced damn well in Monza, Singapore, Canada....his moves on Button, Schuey, Hamilton, Massa etc etc were all top shelf. Even Brazil with his fake of a rokkie...he made Hulk look like a rookie whilst Alonso struggled. He had some bad moves, defended hard with a few clashes....but when you overtook more comeptive cars in race conditions then any of the other title challengers some are going to go pear shaped
  14. Payment received and getting shipped off to CRD today! If the Greddy rail sitn sold soon then I may try cutting and welding my spare inlet manifold up to fit it ?!?!?
  15. LOL, car parts are now living under my desk at work. Bump!
  16. LOL, all Skylines live in workshops ......
  17. Will be real interesting to see how it all pans out. I cant fit 18 x 9.5 +18 with 265/35/18s under mine and i paid bloody good money to get my guards pumped as much as humanly possible before respraying the guards (and the rest of the car for that matter) Will be a little cross if for $1000 you get all your guards pumped to suit big rubber
  18. SII RXC7s? I cant remember the last time i saw/heard a ported rotary on the street I suggest most newcomers are MX5 owners because import owners are being dicked? Also, what are the odds that many of the MX5s are actually imports and not locally delivered?
  19. Are the prices back to front? 18x9s cheaper then 17x9s? What size and compound DZ03Gs?
  20. Hos high is the turbo sitting? Or is it just the angle of the photo. Would think you could have bonnet clearance problems, or at least need to protech yourbonnet paint from temps? .. Great looking engine
