  1. Here are a few dry laps from Winton on the weekend. Best was a 1:38.2 which I was pretty happy with!
  2. Will post up some wet laps on the short track when I get some time over Christmas. For the time being here are my laps from the one dry session
  3. Do it! For no other reason I want to see you terrorise locals on the piss!
  4. Screwy coilovers = hell yeh hopeless traction. Have a look at this vid. I was running 20psi, and about 260-270rwkws on the day. I was running hopeless old Nankang 235/40/18s so nothing extoic. I run a std 200,000km old RB20 gearbox so dont launch the car hard but you can see second gear has no problems with traction. Dont mind all the problems I am having under brakes...I am in the middle of changing brakes over and did this day to just give the tune and setup a good test. But you can see good traction with that amount of power is not difficult
  5. Any updates?
  6. 10cm housing would be too big for an RB22 IMO Funny to see that truck turbos are once again the flavour of the month
  7. So, on the weekend i was making around 240rwkws from my RB20 and on a slippery track that had been wet, but still not quite dry I can flatten 3rd gear. In the dry there is absolutely no problem with traction in 2nd and 3rd. 1st is a bit of a challnege, but if i shift smoothly and sensibly to second and then to 3rd no wheelsping whatsoever. I gave my suspension to a friend a while back so he could track his R32 and whilst i had his Tein HCs or HR or something in my car I would have the same problem in 3rd gear with it wheelspinning. The springs and valving were too high, or just wrong and ride height was way too low at about 325mm....though it looked cool So as others have said, check ride height is sensible, alignment and quality of shocks good, decent diff and tyres and you will have no problem with full throttle power down in 2nd gear with 230rwkws
  8. I ran std R33 Brembo calipers and rotors as I am still waiting for my brackets to be machined up for the Stoptechs
  9. Well, the old girl did her first track day in 3 years on the weekend!!!! Cant believe it had been that long and I sure as hell was very rusty at trying to coax the thing around a tight and twisty Winton. Will post up some vids when I get a chance to edit them. Didnt really lean on it too hard, wound a bit of ignition out of it and didnt rev it to over 7,300rpmish. Grabbed some second gear and rang its neckto 8,800rpm limit a few times in the slow twisty part but the engine breathed about 500ml of oil into the catch can when i gave it that hard a time. Didnt breath a drop of oil when I went back to using 3rd gear through those slow corners....so something to consider. Wasnt overly quick, but was a good first time back at the track , car really needs a wheel alignment and ride heights set....that itself would make a huge difference.
  10. They are nice vids. I cant help but think that the footage you are getting is better then what I am getting out of my Radcam...will have to try some of the settings on my thing. Also, do you know where the timing beacon was located on the weekend, by my vids I was doing 1:07-1:08s on the short track, but I suspect I was backing off after the finish line and I suspect the beacon was on the back straight now that they have me 6 seconds slower?
  11. My guts hang nicely over mine keeping the straps from riding up too high
  12. mebbe...but i dont buy into that snmall port thing. An RB20 has larger valve area per cylinder then an SR20 so dont see that as being the problem. You only need ports and valves mig enough to cover the displacement of each cylinder...other wise velocity, cylinder filling etc goes to crap. Probably more to do with teh lil internal gate turbo with a small housing on funny fuel meaning the thing had so much back pressure it woudldnt take any ignition up top ?!?!?!?
  13. Hsve you ever used one? My balls get in the way!
  14. I missed the 5 point rubbish! In time i think i will contest that as it makes no sense to me!!!!!!!
  15. Well thats just sh1t. Where are CAMS and thei support of Club Level Motorsport? LOL, good to see the investigation and white paper they published back around 2007 in conjunction with state agencies was effective
  16. How much ignition are you running in your RB20 tune? It looks one the boost hits there isnt really much gained hp wise from more revs and the torque seems to die off real quickly. The RB25 setup with the T67 looks the goods!
  17. My full weight GTSt with no gadgets and truck turbo with me behind the wheel wont even be competitive in the Street class so may as well throw some tyres on the thing and see how quick we can go. Hell, enter both classes and find out the speed difference between tyres
  18. What fuel? Throw some decent suspension and tyres at it now.
  19. I think I should have my own class, with prize money and hookers.... a trophy woudl be good too! Open Class seems to be where most cars will enter simply because of tyres. I know its where I will be and will probably be in the bottom 20%. I think Open will be very competitve with perhaps needing a class between Clun and Open, effectively Club guys with better rubber. But, the event will nevber be all things to all men/entrants
  20. Another 100hp? Eek. I figure my car and engne still have some speed in it so will be fun trying to get a bt more from it. But concede that the money I am spending fiddling trying to find the sweet spot doesnt not make much sense.
  21. Well I am back in teh country for the first time since this thing kicked off and the car is back on the road these days so I have a car at least. I will go in for giggles if a few friends are entered and there are a few cars I can play with. All the money I am spending on my engine at the moment is resulting in less power ... but I have got some cool stuff to make the engine look quick
  22. Surprised nobody has posted up the announcements of dates for 2011. Interesting to see how strong the field is in 2011. I see in Japan these events have now turned into "enter ex-race cars" rather then tuner built-engineered road cars. Well at least thats my take on what looks to be an ex JGTC RX7 or at least an RX7 that has been built up using the shell of a JGTC FD posting a 53.6 last week. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kd-AnG3LYUg&feature=player_embedded#! It will be interesting to see if some other essentialy race cars, free of their class restrictions punch it out. I know what I would love to buy and enter but will just sit back and consider punting my thing up against some of the other 2L jiggers entered
  23. Finally got the rim size and tyre size, and brake clearance issues sorted. 245/40/17 RE55 fronts on 17x9 +28 TE37s. Rear are 255/40/17s on 17x9.5+35 TE37s running 343x32mm rotor with 4 pot Stoptechs at the front
