  1. So you going to have kiddy fliddling 25 power for 2011 SL Russ or are you going to be sticking with 20 power?
  2. I am no fag hence no RB26. Only queers and steers throw 26s at GTSTs, and i'm neither! The 20 can get the job done
  3. They are the smallest off the shelf cams i can find. Otherwise its custom.
  4. I love how you deleted my RB20 plot, scared that it put all your mega motors to shame!
  5. Yes Pete, saw the 31 and had to shake my head. Not because its not mega cool, but because you have so many projects on the go that I just had to laugh and think that you could be just a tad bipolar. So the Plazmaman plenum is finally on. Went for a drive and it obviously has changed the air flow of the engine as the tune seems out and will be getting tuned next week some time. First impression is perhaps the throttle response is a bit sharper, but it is already laggier. But that is untuned SOP feel and I now have a Blitz ID Spec R on the thing now which still needs to be setup. SO....not sure yet. But at the moment it better perform as the following means I am not all that excited about the install of it. Firstly, you need a small battery, no way a std battery will clear the throttle body location. Second is the Cusco brake stopper has to be removed as the plenum fouls on it. It was expected that you have to extend the loom a little for the relocated throttle body. The std throttle cable was fine. The angle off the front of the throttle body isnt great with trying to get it back through the inner guard. You lose the bleed point for the coolant system. You lose access to your dip stick, you can still reach it but its a pain. And its NOISY. Sounds like you have a massive leak as the alloy is so thin that you hear the air rushing through it. Not a bad thing, but just another noise in the engine bay you have to understand and ignore when you are diagnosing things. So thats about it for now....will see how the tune goes. The cost of the plenum install means its staying on whether its good or sh1t. Hopefully the tune yields positive results, if so the 256/8.5mm cams go in. If the tune reveals no difference or a backwards step then I am going to give up on the lil 20 and just wind 22psi into it and have fun with it and start building my stroker full of Tomei goodness
  6. Suppose some people are never happy We have had a great few seasons and i figure sooner or later you are due for a shitty one, especially in F1
  7. It seems Karun didnt want the seat anymore, Bruno was not a popular guy with management. Yamamoto is just plain sh1t so maybe that leaves Klein with the willingness to slog it out in whatever he can get his bum in?!?!?!?! I think Narain is a hack with some experience and money. The experience means he at least wont be a drain on what little engineering the team have...and he was not great in a bad Jordan, but the guy has shown he can steer a car competently....not that equals exciting!
  8. No doubt the funding that means HRT will have a 2011 car is courtesy of TATA, funny it was meant to be a Spanish team but appears as though its funding will be from India. TATA are a huge organisation and whilst i dont think they want to be in F1 as team owners, i think they would like to show on the world stage that they can match western organisations in profile. But cant see them using Jaguar branding as it is likely to hurt the badge rather then help it by running last on the grid every weekend
  9. Good to see you are back in the game! As much as i love my R32, an R33 GTS25t is such a good thing to just get in and go pretty damn quick and have a load of reliable fun. It looks like a god bus too in silver! I am hoping to get to Sandown on the 6th, just need to be sure I can get back from Brisbane for that weekend! It is with HSV Car Club if you are interested in entering
  10. It needs to be sticked....Oh well, can we change the name of this thread to non Championship track days. I will put my entry in for Sandown with HSV this Friday. Cant wait to get back to my favourite Vic track
  11. So I am not sure when SAU-WRX plan on publishing dates for 2011 but having punted my bus at Winton a few weeks back I am looking forward to getting back out there for the first time in 3 years and seeing if I can finally bag the times I crave In the meantime it seems PIARC are yet to publish their 2011 calender, Maserati's website is down so really looking to get some dates inked in for Jan and Feb before work starts to dictate what I can and cant do
  12. So...next is an R32 GTR shell, silver, chrome moly cage and an LSX with a Hollinger 6 spd sequential behind it....or if you are over Chevs then throw a Judd V10 in one But in all seriousness, hope it went to a good home!
  13. I like the clean look of paint. But I like the practicality of getting it all carpeted as it reduces glare in the sun, more durable when throwing tools and wheels back there, also reduces road noise a tad. Will most likely paint it, simply because I do prefer the cleaner look, but will have to look at the cost of it. Panel beaters charge a fortune and I do want it colour matched to my external paint
  14. There isnt a lot to be gained from chaging it to a full race car?!?! I spend 10-15k more on it to go maybe a fraction quicker and drive it less. Right now its about right with regards to usability and my budget....and its still fun which is all this car is about. I dont think I would enjoy racing, it costs too much, talent (the biggest part) is missing and dont have the time and space for a race car
  15. Well the new cage is in....Risking has done a nice job and on teh drive back to Melb from Sydney was nice to be able to recline the seat and take a nap...the cage fits the b piller a lot nicer then my old cage. Over the next few weeks I suppose I need to put more effort into my interior and throw some dry ice in there, strip it and give the whole lot a lick of silver
  16. sorry...mad , not made If you are selling it then I will swap you the Motec setup for an old VDO boost gauge and speedo
  17. eek...made to sell it out of your car. Good things to have and understand if you are racing the 996. I am betting the dash will be worth about 5k with loom and sensors etc....2nd hand they dont seem to get much cheaper then 3.5-4k even for the lower spec units. Keep it!
  18. Can i ask where all this talk of "no dust seals = illegal" is coming from? My understanding is an engineering certificate is necessary to ensure the adequacy of what is installed. The listed criteria is hydraulic fluid sufficiency, balanced braking on all wheels, brake pedal pressure limitations and braking performance. I dont think anyone really gives a hoot when you consider that not even all road cars come with brake calipers with dust seals. Also Hoppers Stoppers, unless its PBR I dont think they are going to help you much. AP agents will tell you not to buy Brembo for various reasons. Brembo will tell you AP and Alcon are not as good. Alcon will only try to sell you Alcon. Why be surprised when a PBR guys tells you that Wilwood are no good.
  19. So does the ID of the inlet runners match up where it goes from tube to the original cast section?
  20. Do we know if these things internals are reliable? Are they 270, 360 deg bearings etc etc??? Are they actually mitsu turbos or are they made by Kando the Great?
  21. They used to on Wednesdays. A friend did one mid this year. It is a pretty plain track and poorly maintained...but hey track time is track time
  22. The top of 2nd gear is just a driving thing. Like any rwd car with a decent amount of power, you just need to take a line through the corners that allows you to get the lock off as soon as possible and plant the throttle when you are close to going straight.
  23. Its not that brilliant a time but I am stoked with it. I didnt look at times until the next day on Natsoft though a few people mentioned that I was in the 38s. The day was about getting kms in the seat and the car to see if there are any little things that need sorting since it has been in pieces and off the road so much. But tribute to Racepace that the car ran faultless all day and engine was strong, handling was nice and neutral....i was stoked with how easy the car was to drive. So from here pretty happy that all I need to do is set the ride heights, get a wheel alignment more suited to track work with semis...and then its just seat time for me. The other thing is the vid is of the only dry session on the long track. Was good to do some laps in the session before in the wet to get a feel again for the flow of the circuit....but only getting 4-5 laps of dry running and getting the time I did....I am stoked! Even the tyres despite being a few years old appear to have been stored well and had plenty of grip and probably the car was quicker then me (as always)
  24. Yeh, its doing everything pretty well. I just need more seat time and need to get the general balance back to how it used to be which is to make it a bit pointier so i can drive it a little more on the throttle mid corner and get some better drive out of corners. What is done to the front end of your car? It seems to need more steering angle then mine...but that could be tyres?
