I didnt get much of a chance to roam around yesterday but there is a lack of eye candy compared to past years. I did see the Monster stand and secretly wish I fit in with the crowd!

I ran my TD06-20G with a 10cm housing. The 8cm made the same power and was far more responsive in the 4,000rpm range. The 8cm doesnt like much more then 20psi due to back pressure, so if you want to run more then 20psi then perhaps the extra top end will make up for the loss in mid range...but i doubt it. That said I am about to go back to the 10cm housing and some baby cams for shits and giggles. I know I will be a laggy POS with not hitting 22psi to about 4,800rpm but curious to know how much more then the current 272rwkws it can make with the bigger housing and some cams (note, that cams with the 8cm dont seem to do anything as it seems the tiny lil 8mc rear is the cause of any restriction...not cam duration or lift)

Well Webber has improved on his 1st GP of 2010 Quali performance. In time to Seb and also grid position. Seems old sleep Mark still doesnt like getting the results from the get go. Come on Mark...cant wait to see Lewis take on Seb, Seb ran into Mark before the McLarens could mount an attack on him in the sphincter of the universe...will be real interesting to see how he goes when he has to race Lewis, he couldnt do a thing about Alonos in Singapore etc

Track Car Brake Advice
Roy replied to Craig19789's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
As others have said, the slots matter for little, its the vanes. You will find that most rotor manufacturers like to slot the rotor accross the direction of the vane. So if you see slots going in the direction you were thinking, it could mean they are not curved vane, installed backwards or an older style of rotor before manufacturers saw less fatigue problems by slotting across the vane direction -
have tickets for GP anx too busy with work. Hopefully willa make P3 & quali then just the race. anyone in the Brabham stand send me a pm

thats moving. I think my t67 with 10 cm housing is goung on with rhe cams and e85. will see what abuse it can take and whether the lil 20 can keep on the boil down the qtr. god knows it will ne a shitty track setup -
And come on hacks...register and lets see who the gun form picker is

My tips are in.. i have gone safe with regards to only Ferrari and RBR getting both cars to the line. Webber for the win...bitterness of last season and home GP he will be on it. With tyres, wings, KERS I think he will be on it quicker then Vettel.

Looks like the new bus has a got a good turn of speed and balanced. Braking problem all fixed?

Down with the Irish...wont give me a visa so they can get....and Tommy Gavin is old school Irish. You have to watch Rescue Me if you are ever to understand what that means -
By building a head just stick with the basics and dont get carried away with porting, unless you are willing to get it wrong a few times. Solid lifters, some baby duration - high lift cams and some decent valve springs would do the job. I have Tomei cams, springs, retainers, RB24 pistons etc for an RB24. With a 26 crank it should be pretty decent for 9,000rpm if its screwed togehter correctly. The bigger problem is what to do with things like power steering pulleys etc which are driven at the wrong speeds at those sort of rpms. To spin it up to 10,000rpm i think just stick with std bottom ends and just uprated cams, springs, oil pump and inlet manifold. The std inlet manifold falls off power after 7,000rpm where as aftermarket ones seem to hurt response a little but give you more top end. If the thing throws a rod then so what. You have transferable bolt ons that can go the next $400-600 wrecker engine. Rather then some $8000 motor with a lot of fruit

Well I want to enter but have an opportunity to be OS in late July, early August....any idea when entries open?

Signed up...only problem is now I may have to nominate a driver based on what my head is telling me rather then my heart?

So my car with a half cage is fine? Ooooh -
Yeh, the EVO was hanging in there as well??!?!? Is the engine fresh? Personally I would be shifting the thing way off max revs just to look after it and not incur rebuild costs Not too many wrecker Supercar engines getting around for $600 Great vids. Thanks for posting

Was it DC or MW that did Harbour Bridge a few years ago. They were meant to do 100km/hmax but they covered it on 6 seconds or something with plenty of noise...so werent in 1st gear The difference now is that since Lewis and his incident last year, the FIA now have the power to pull a Super Licence if an F1 driver gets in trouble with local law enforcement on the road

Bring some CCTV gear to monitor your cars at night people. If SMAUG needs parts your cars WILL be stripped in a beer fueled haze of shenanigans! Meh, even if it doesn't need parts its always fun emptying a catch can under someone elses car only to see that car's owner sh1t themselves and spend hours trying to find the leak before "attempting" to turn over their car

I stress about what brake setup to leave on my car...my BP is farked because I have turned into a 110kg fat carnt. Can you say "gain of 20kgs in 18 months but in real terms its more because I have probably lost about 5-8kgs of muscle from training" FARK WORK! Cant quit now because I am too proud to throw the towel in...but a serious re-think is coming at the end of this project. The retail therapy on car parts and snap trips away doing car stuff dont justify the pain any more. Would be a lot happier if i had a car in one piece ready to trash -

Yeh, I am so busy the car isnt getting finished and very little is happening at the moment. I am not even getting to go hassle Marlin and down cans ....and I go to see about getting some titanium pins remvoed because they are causing me problems and now getting all sorts of probes and tests to explain my 150/110 blood pressure. Fark work I say !!!! -
Not sure how many more of these I can turn up to and just watch others having a ball! Surely I am not far away from getting the brakes and suspension all back on my car

Got my tickets, think its Brabham straight

I used to be in the same boat. I use to really like/rate Heidfeld and thought he would hand it to Mark when they were at Williams. But Marlk surprised me with just how fast he is. In my eyes he is as good as if not a tad batter Rosberg, Massa and Button. Not quite as good as Hamo, Alonso and Vettel. Vettel cant race to save his life, but he is fast. Webber isnt far off his pace, typically less then a tenth in quali, and hey he did outqualify him 6 times and beat him a number of times. So he does deserve to be there....and I used to like guys like Fisi until he got blown away by Alonso. Heidfeld but then he has not done anything alongside Webber or Kubica....so Webber has never been embarrassed by a team mate

So the tune has been tweaked with the new inlet manifold on and the results are not that encouraging This weekend I will work on the cooler pipes some more, check a few more things and see if there is anything to be gained. Then will replace the big 100mm ARC cooler with the std R34 cooler I have got in the boot and then its just a matter of throwing my Momo seat that I got out of storage back in, bed the new brakes and hopefully be able to start enjoying it again. Still got to put the new radiator, thermo fans, low temp thermostat and new hoses in too....but thats all stuff for a lazy weekend -
Race Brakes like many professional places will generally turn away business if they think what you are asking them to do is not in line with their usual practice. Sometimes this is related to the brands of parts you want to use, or the cheap/perhaps less safe option you are trying to chase. But if you pay his proces and go with their kits and listen to their advice then people dont generally get upset. But regarding dollars. Consider this.... labour to remove wheels, measure up hub, tie rod end, wheel clearances etc and then use the combination of rotor and caliper you are handing over. Then they will make up a dummy piece, trial fit then mod to suit or make the matching hat and mount. So on top of the hours of machining and trial fitting throw about $150 in material for the mount, and depending on the rotor size you can add about another $250 in material for the hats. (assuming you dont have to buy minimum quantities for your order and you are buying in bulk) You can see why they charge about $450-550 for mounts...some places $650 a pair. And around ~$800-1000 for the hats a pair. Also consider the mounting hardware to bolt the custom hat to the rotor is about $80-100. The high tensile fasteners for mounting radial mount to hub, then caliper to mount is about another $80-100. Then you need brake lines so say $250. The only time it can be done a bit cheaper if you can provide drawings that are exact or at least a close first go so that they can mock up a dummy piece quickly and save them time consuming measurements and test fitting. My drawing for the mounts for my Stoptechs using 343mm rotors was about 6mm out in one plane but spot on for the other. Seems the Stoptechs are a little to Brembos and my new rotors a little different in hat height from the last rotors i used..so just waiting for them to get machined up now. Because i did a lot of work myself it worked out cheaper then an off the shelf kit

Seems entries are still not open. Also looking at the UAS website...fark me the barge is starting to look more like something from a Jim Cameron film then a Nissan factory!
