  1. 17 x 9 +28 fronts and 17 x 9.5 +35 rears
  2. Finally got some pics off my phone of the brakes
  3. LOL, had never even stopped to consider that. Not bad for a std motor I suppose:) Re head work. I may pick up a std head and give it a go myself. But honestly, by the time i buy new head gasket, head bolts, new timign belt, coolant, sump of oil etc even trying to do a head clean up on the cheap will cost $500-800. Will try some headwork if nobody buys my Tomei 2.4L gear soon as the combustion chamber needs to be opened up to suit the bigger bore And re cams, I have something sorted since i have Tomei solid lifters and Tomei valve springs to suit But dont want to spend any money really, the power is enough, just trying to see what i can do to get the most out of std 20. I understand some of the myths out there about parts, thought these two parts were going to work for me. So far doing accurate back to back the 6boost has been nothing but a backwards step as it cost me money, the Turbosmart gate doesnt sound as good as the Greddy gate ( ) and and didnt deliver any performance increase over the Greddy manifold. It may prove to last longer though. And the Plazmaman, well ... yeh well. Seems to work on some other setups, just not mine
  4. My cam gears are 0 on inlet and retard about 4 deg on exhaust. As you can see its slower to ramp onto boost, loses a fair bit in the midrange...but holds on top a bit better. It also seems to take less ignition then the std plenum. Based on what other people have quoted on pages of this forum, i didnt really expect to make more power, or care to make more power. The talk is I could expect 200rpm or so increased response, which I was hoping to get another 15rwkws or so 4,500rpm to help with 3rd gear corner exits at the circuit where at present I just have to wait a tad to get onto power band. You can see from about 1:12 to 2.00 that there are 3rd gear corners where I just need a little more jump out of the corners. ...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOl-IGx8UkQ ... (especially at 1.39 and 1:50) I understand all the fluids of inlet manifolds reasonably well. But with so many people say raving about their performance increase, some even say same power at less boost...I thought I would give it a go. But much like my change from a Greddy exhaust manifold to a 6boost manifold did nothing to improve performance (most things point at I lost a little bit of response) it seems that I can get the same performance increase with the plenum as others. So, before throwing another $200-350 at the tuner to try different cam gear settings, thought I would post up to see if any oen has tried a Greddy plenum, plazmaman plenum or other which has meant the proven I=0, E=-4 deg recipe for cam gears is different with an aftermarket plenum.
  5. My talent extends about as far as my foul odour and internet talk gets me
  6. I have a plazmaman plenum on my RB20 and the results were a bit disappointing. I simply have not been able tonmatch the std plenums performance let alone realise a gain I was thinking on the weekend, we have not played with the cam gears from when it was tuned with the std plenum. I still have std cams. Do you have to change the cam gear settings with a plenum, or do people typically still run 0 on inlet and retard about 4 deg on exhaust?
  7. If the rest of the season was like the sphincter of the universe then DRS will be a failure. In my eyes we had one race where it did nothing. Two where it seemed ok. One bad race. In past seasons you may have had to wait two or three races for a good battle and pass. To me if you are a few tenths or even a second quicker. Then you have to work to get past and the guy behind should be able to hold you off with some race craft. But in the past there have been cars that are far quickwr caught behind slow cars which is rubbish. If Massa is 18th because of a problem in quali then he should not spend the whole race battling a car that has scored less then 10 points yhe past few seasons...
  8. I loved last season, and have no problem with what I am watching. Seems I am the only one
  9. I have never read many good things about the TD05-20G. Seems to be a bit of a mismatch in wheel sizes. The TD05-18G is the way to go it seems, the 20G is just too much compressor to be spun by the little TD05 wheel....also on a plain bearing turbo running a mismatch of wheel sizes means you end up with higher bearing loads as at rpm as the axial load increases...or so I read But the TD06-18G could be a good thing. I have been told the TD06 wheel is a good thing and its the 20G compressor that makes the TD06-20G as laggy as it is. So a TD06-18G could be a good thing, good sized turbine so that you can get good boost and flow without too much back pressure and a light little 18G wheel that is good for 240-250rwkws. I think the problem is the shafts are different diameters
  10. Rock...if i lose at lest i can throw it at an EVO from an overpass
  11. When bedding brakes and going from 140km/h to 20km/h you often see the engine light come on. Especially if you just leave it in 4th and jump on the brakes. Do it while rowing back through the gears and the engine light never comes on...in my experience
  12. Any idea if they are more slimline then the Cusco? If so I am real interested as i had to remove my Cusco one because of the new plenum. Keen to se a pic of what it looks like installed
  13. Well, my TD06-20G is not an L2. I had an L2 but gave it to a friend with my old manifold etc to try. There is an identical RB20 to mine running the same mani/gate and tuner - dyno but L2 and he made 0.5kw less then me on the same boost with almost the exact same response. Mine was actually a bit more responsive. So I dont think there is really a big difference between the TD06 and L2 version of the turbine. The L2 turbine is common with the T67. I am not sure about the TD06H, but i know my TD06-25G is actually a TD06SH-25G. Here are some pics of the TD06L2 vs the TD06SH As you can see the TD06SH wheel is a lot bigger If you need I can take some wheels of the T67-25G wheel on the weekend and also my TD06 wheel. My turbz are all Greddy/Trust jobbies but imagine they are all the same wheels, if not housings
  14. But everyone jumping up and down saying DRS is artificial....In Australia I didnt even notice it. Was it Massa or Button who used it to sneak by a car...it was hardly a show changing technology. In the sphincter of the universe they got it wrong. In Malaysia I think it was about right...will see what happens next race. But I am not against it yet...but admit that it played too big a part on the weekend. My man DC has it right, once upon a time you had a boost button that allowed you to use more fuel, risk engine wear but allowed you to get past the car ahead. DRS doesnt really cause any wear , fuel consumption etc but the end result is the same. What would increase the risk vs reward aspect would be to put a cap on the amount of times it can be used in a race. You can can get rid of KERS, and just have the tyres and DRS. Dont need all three....I was actually pretty happy with the racing last year, but did miss the lack of refuelling
  15. Yeh Castrol for all RB20 crate motors I have only ever blown oil when there was plenty of limiter action. Bump the limiter a few rpm so i never hit it and no problem. Even the breathing on limiter isnt a common thing, but its about as good as i can do for a reason for the 2-3 times it has happened
  16. Yeh, no way am 8cm 20G is going to make 305rwkws. I friend used to have one on his RB25 and ran a 10cm housing and it only made 280rwkws with a belly full of boost. I have a TD06-20G, 25G and T67-25. I think I will go there TD06-25G with 10cm housing for general duties on the RB24 and TD06-20G with 10cm housing for tight motorkhanas etc. The 8cm is really even a tad too small on an RB20 up top when you want to run over 20psi. So it would be way too small on an RB25, may come on harder but the spread of power probably worse as it chokes on its gases up top...IMO, and its only an opinion
  17. I remember when I was in India I read that the Supra did a 1:17 or 1:18. So makes sense that it as not running at its usual pace. May have been the only time I could have bragged about sharing the same piece of straight with it Good to see the R31 in its flesh and meet a few new faces! Roll on the next day, hopefully with a quieter car next time
  18. RBR look to even have more of an advantage then last year. Based on Webbers lap times at the end of the stints he was using the tyres/car more then Vettel and yet Vettel still had a comfortable amount of speed sitting there to be used if required. It was a breeze for the guy. I think unless Ferrari or McLaren really turn it around before Canada, then Vettel will win the championship with a few rounds to go Although the next GP was where Mark started his strong mid season last year....but I cant see it happening this year
  19. HMMM...sorry Mark. I tried to encourage, wish, dream, pray you to the win...but you have to do something Old Son!
