  1. Good post! Big Singles are weak sauce...big twins are cool!
  2. Any offers on the Tomei RB24 pistons? If someone wants to take the complete RB26 bottom end of me with the pistons, Poncams, valvesprings and lifters then happy to discuss reasonable offers. The RB26 bottom end is in perfect health other then a ring on one of the N1 pistons. So the oil pumps, water pump, balanced crank with oil drive and rods etc are all less then 5,000kms old (well under) from a rebuild. So with the bits from the 26 bottom end, add to the Tomei pistons, throw in the 256/8.5mm cams and springs and you will have the basis of a tough 2.4L!
  3. You are not wrong...watch the vid of the thing and look at how rough, long it takes to come on power band ...hehehe COOL!
  4. The fact that he gave Will Power something like 400k to help him keep racing in the US.. I think you are right, he doesnt need the money. I think the point of that vid is he doesnt take himself that serious that he doesnt mind throwing his name behind a product from his hometown...and "bloddy good on him"
  5. That engine almost ended up in my car...but Chris wouldnt leave me alone in the workshop!
  6. Whats with the mass sell out of cars. Blaise, go RX7. My offer on DR30s got knocked back...give it a few weeks and try again:)
  7. Jesus, stickied? Better clean it up and only post technical gargon....err my coriolis calculation means if i again start using my reach around shift method not only will my lap times improve to what they used to be but I will probably get more invites for sleep overs
  8. Funny, he is using footage of my car at PI Not sure I agree with his cam comments, my Apexi cams were a fail, I was too scared to try my HKS cams so sold them and have a set of Poncams 256/8.5 still sitting around somewhere
  9. I was only saying the other day that I think I actually like Hamilton now... then i go and read this ... http://www.planetf1.com/driver/18227/6950922/Hamilton-hopes-to-close-the-gap Right now he is back to his c0ck gargling ways of yesteryear...come on Button smach the little poser!
  10. Im glad it was a 31 that beat me Damn coil packs packing it in I think I ran a 13.4 or something that night. Was funny getting so many runs that my clutch got so hot and started to slip as well
  11. Yeh, mine is a slip joint so you can plumb it back in the time it takes you to loosen then tighten two bolts. But its the difference you need in the tune that is the problem. Engine chokes on gases if you dont have a top shelf exhaust and takes less ignition and boost with the gate plumbed back.
  12. One bad result doesnt mean the product isnt any good. There could be a few reasons why I didnt yield better results. There is evidence that if i throw my Tomei cams in, the 10cm housing at it that I aill make way more power up top then I ever could with the std plenum...but seems to not be able to match the torque/response of the std plenum. For my car the compromise doesnt seem to have worked out well. I have taken the car down the qtr years ago with about 235rwkws and RE55s. I ran a 12.9 at 114mph with a 2.3 60ft time. I walked the car off the line as I am still running a std RB20 gearbox. That box now has 205,000kms on it so I try to look after it with launches and shifts, it probably had about 180,000kms on it when i ran that time. With a proper go in first and second gear trying to get the 60ft time down to 2.0sec or better then there is a pretty easy low 12 in it. And that time was with this tune...
  13. Hi people. I have put these back into storage so no longer tripping over them or desperate to sell. If you are interested then I am asking $420 delivered to CBD in any city but Perth/Darwin, in which case we can split the delivery
  14. Will be interesting to see how you go with sound and noise limits at Vic track days
  15. Good point Wolverine. I watch live timing on my laptop every GP , have so for the past 2-3 years. Makes the race far eaier to follow and far more interesting when you see who is doing what...i just wish they woudl tell you what tyres they were on!
  16. Well I may buy a few drums of Powerplus E85 and then start trying out the Caltex stuff
  17. Just got approved 8 weeks of paid/unpaid leave. First few weeks will be just winding down, then OS then back relaxing...ready for more headfark projects uopn my return. So early July shoudl be some fun at EC/Wakefield and running amuk on Chateau le Count! Thanks rotort...yeh, i love the lil 20. Yes, its still very drivable. I am a bit disappointed its not more of a wrestle to punt...but truth is its still quicker then me so am still chasing the speed the car has. Re setup, the car had a wheel alignment in Jan 2009, since then it has been in pieces, stored and no idea of ride heights etc. I suspect you are right as it only locks the front left when there is a bit of lock on so could be tied up with the too big a front swaybar with rose joints, ride height etc etc.
  18. ...with the 6boost manifold and Turbosmart gate it is a lot higher pitch then it used to be, and perhaps a little louder. So they used to ping me eyars ago before I went OS with work. Seems upon my return they again care about loud cars Your seat base isnt oo big a problem Count, its the Momo rails you are using on the base. Throw the Cobra rail on Frankenbase and it will be rigid again (O think/hope)
  19. Main reason I was going to try Martini or Sunoco first was to get some good quality gerry cans that will seal up well and able to sit in the boot of the car in the garage. But will have to try and hunt down some from a client instead if the E85 is the way to go...actually.
  20. Its another tick in that box....but the big cross is i want to quit my job Hence the Polish strippers
  21. Well, I was going to go to the German and Hungarian F1 GPs this year...right about now I think I may as well save the coin and head to the Polish strip joints
  22. So Webber is the first pole sitter in 11 years not to win this GP from pole
  23. fark, carnt, sh1t, a55hole, slartcake.....
  24. Yeh, seems thedays of coming out in traffic and being held are pase. Tyres advantage and drs/kers means you clear cars pretty quickly...come on Hamo...get in there
  25. Fark mw! Could be an interesting race...but talk about making your life far more difficult then need be!
