  1. Good luck lunatics...have fun. Part of me wishes i was part of Team Last Minute! But, ... I am full of buts and BS! Keep it on the black stuff...and remember, go fast as you can, when something gets in your way.................. turn!
  2. Cool, that is moving! How much of a handful is the 32 with a stonking V8 in it at a tight little track like Wakefield????
  3. Ok, i think go with the basics. Have you got the same brand and wear level on all 4 tyres. What are the tyre pressures you are running? As for motorkhanas, yes they can be tricky in a std car....but I think they also happen to be the best car to learn how to drive using the dynamics of the car. So as Duncan said, use the weight transfer to steer the car. With std shocks and lowered springs you will struggle with roll understeer, lift off oversteer etc and unless you are quick with steering tank slapper action....but there is the challenge of punting the car. Std susp and understeering. Make sure you have 36psi in the front and try 42psi in the rear. Then, carry plenty of brake when you are starting to turn the car....forget that you are in a rwd car and want to turn it on the throttle, pretend you are in a FWD car and carry the brake for as much of the steering you can. Then when you get on the loud pedal, do so smoothly but quickly so as not to unweight the front too much. I quite enjoy punting ill handling cars, i suppose its a good challenge, and probably part of the reason my car was all over the shop for so long
  4. And what would be wrong with that!
  5. I was looking at them in case that R32 Targa (Kerrys) car added up LOL need to find the right car to suit a set of wheels i want to buy
  6. I look every week, always the wrong sizes I want 18 x 9 fronts and either 18 x9.5 or 18 x 10 rears. Friend has 18s with 9" front and i think 9.5" rears on his R33...best wheel out there, well next to Weds !
  7. What size wheels are they, i would hurt people for the right sized Regas for my car
  8. Supertrapp exhausts, in the ealry 90s lots of rotaries were using them trying to quiten down all the ported rotors before turbos became all the rage. http://www.supertrapp.com/product_sections/cat.asp?CatID=63 What they do care about, and what everyone cares about is when you go to get your mail in your quiet street and a bloke is giving 2nd gear limiter a nudge out of corners and down your street. Wide open throttle usually means noise....so its farking stoopid that they are going after the by product and not the cause...driving with a heavy foot! I believe that it shouldnt be a problem if people dont use it or hear it....means you can have your fun modding the car, drive sensibly on teh road...and when you rock up to your CAMS event you can give it HELL! So glad my car is parked up and not being driven 500kms a week, it would only be a matter of time until i had issues, for whatever reason was deemed to be a hazard on the day
  9. Do you use anything funky chemical wise when cleaning your mags?
  10. Correct...BUT the 599 GTO IS a road car. The GTO is the road going version of the XXX, incorporating lots of the development parts from the XXX!!! Grab some of the recent issues of EVO and from the Fezz website... read here... http://www.ferrari.com/English/GT_Sport%20...ges/599GTO.aspx
  11. They made that uer 350Z, 380RS Competition etc, so why not the GTR. Personally i would rather see the GTR motor shoe horned into a 370Z with a fancy diff and suspension....but, I am not the head of Nissan R&D
  12. Its all the rage these days, and the R35 with its Ring lap time has just beem destroyed by a rwd Fezz 599 GTO, by over 30 seconds. According to EVO magazine they are going to build it and call the 599XXX the 599 GTO (as opposed to GTB) So Nissan needs to cull some weight, and find some grunt for the R35, shoudlnt be too hard. They need to build an N1 model, who cares what they call it...they need to get rid of the playstation, leather, all the crap that slows it down and take on the raw prod builts coming out....for now i love that rwd yank muscle and Fezz power is faster then AWD limos. http://www.ferrari.com/English/GT_Sport%20...ges/599GTO.aspx http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/02/geneva-...flippin-insane/
  13. I need some alone time.... thats automotive nirvana...and that guys ability to punt the thing!!!!!
  14. Surprised this hasnt sold. If its still around when I get back in country I will be interested, perfect basis for gutted tarmac car Hope for the cars sake it sells before then , deserves a better home
  15. There are a few things in this world that you dont mess with...a mates Mrs .... fark off dogs with foam dripping from their mouths... vag with foam dripping from it..... AND Snowies right arm. Its a precision instrument, he clocked me in the head from about 30mtrs with a lemon, AFTER a night on the bottle. I am sure if he was sober it would have taken my head clean off
  16. LOL, thats what i was thinking... i suppose this is a car forum and people say most Skyline owners are IT folk so perhaps were never big on the soccer, football, tennis, swimming, basketball....whatever floats your boat!
  17. That was me that posted up the summary of an article... ................................................................................ ................................................................................. ................................................. Talking to someone again the other day about brake upgrades...and how when i win lotto want 343mm front rotors with AP 6-pot brakes and 328mm rear rotors with AP 2 pot brakes:) However....my pet ramble:) is how these sorts of brake setups are massive overkill for most of us, even ppl that do track work in cars. Something i posted a while ago that came to mind again today whilst dribbling propoganda with another forum goer... Car & Driver did a test a few years ago testing StopTechs brake kits against some more recognised names, showing similar results. Test Car was a WRX (US Spec which only uses two piston sliding caliper, not as good as Nissan 4 spot or later Model WRX 4 pots) So tested kits were, std car, std car with upgraded pads and fluid, Brembo F50 Kit, Brembo Lotus Kit (Similar to as fitted to GTRs, 44/38mm pistons), Stoptech it and Prodrive Kit (Alcon) Stopping Distances 70mph - 0 , 3 Stop Brembo F50;_____________ 185 / 183 (Average / Best) Brembo Lotus; ______________ 200 / 196 Prodrive; __________________ 198 / 194 StopTech;__________________ 187 / 186 Stock; ____________________ 205 / 196 Stck with pads and fluid; ____187 / 184 The above figures are all in feet, one stop difference between pad and fluid upgrade to crappy sliding caliper brake setup and massive Brembos is 1 ft...lol 30cms:( And over 3 stops the average is 2 ft...lol 60cms:) So you can see the one stop max of the upgraded pads and fluid is damn good when you consider the $$$ to % difference. Stopping Distances 100mph - 0 , 25 Stop Brembo F50; _____________ 299 / 288 (Average / Best) Brembo Lotus; ______________305 / 294 Prodrive; __________________ 308 / 295 StopTech;__________________ 297 / 290 Stock;_____________________ 340/317 Stck with pads and fluid;_____316/299 Not the world of difference you would be led to believe by the "you need 6pot caliper 343mm rotor crowd." Specs of the kits: Rotor Weight (pounds) Size in inches (diam / thk) Brembo F50;.................15.8......................... .13.1 / 1.3 Brembo Lotus;..............12.9.......................... 12.9 / 1.1 Prodrive;......................16.5...........................13.0 / 1.1 StopTech;...................13.9..........................12.9 / 1.1 Stock;.................. ......14.2..........................11.6 / 0.9 Caliper Weight , Piston Size, (mm) Brembo F50;..........8.6 pounds...........40 / 44, Leading / Trailing Brembo Lotus;.......6.8.......................36 / 40 Prodrive;...............9.1..................... 34.9 / 41.3 StopTech;.............9.3.....................36 / 40 Stock;.................10.8.................. .43 / 43 ...and COST!!! Brembo F50;.......................US$2,995 Brembo Lotus;.....................US$2,595 Prodrive;.............................US$1,999 StopTech;...........................US$1,695 Stock with pads & fluid;....... US$130 And remember thet US Spec cars dont get the same 4 pot calipers that WRX get in Aus. And the aftermarket setups have much bigger rotors then the std WRX setup. So would expect better performance from OZ Spec WRX or Nissan 4pot calipers with pads and fluid. It seems the main benefits of the big brake kits are reduced operating temperatures, and more feel and firmer pedal. The reduced temp means the rotors arent being knocked around near as much, and you can run a nicer pad which means there is likely to be less wear on the rotors. And of course less likely to boil and ruin the pricey brake fluid There is no doubt that the big brake upgrades offer great improvements in feel and consistancy, but they dont reduce stopping distances like people imagine. Thats what a combination of good tyres, suspension and brakes do. Food for thought when you are shopping for the 2nd hand GTR brake calipers:) They offer improved feel, but wont really do much regarding stopping distances and fade. But they do look hell cool and i still want a brake upgrade
  18. If your AFL players arent driving around on the piss drugging groupies then your NRL team are sweeping countless dollars under the table in dodgy dealings! You wouldnt catch any Sydney folk behaving like that...well apart from Balmain and Canterbury teams/fans
  19. I thought you were selling the 32?
  20. ... sums up my current view of women
  21. Meh, as long as they have hair then all good to me....if they have teeth then that also helps make them attractive, although ...
  22. I think most the drivers are too soft. They dont even drinkl between P3 and Quali....suds in the breeze in pit lanes while hitting on grid girls....the drivers are soft
  23. So the real pecking order will be established soon. Irvine, Rubens, Herbert etc all have said that Schuey's car development has affected the performance of his team mates (excuses perhaps) But he has always liked a very pointy / oversteery car. So based on what the Brawn was last year, on the weekend it was clear he was struggling with understeer.... to boot Rosbery seems to be doing fine. Will all the car decelopments coming on line at Merc be to suit Schueys feedback. Ie improving the front end? I think its safe to assume it will be whatever the guys has said is needed and i am curious whether the car development is going to hurt Rosbergs pace or improve it. History tells us it will hurt his pace
