  1. See Ruf are building their own V8 to go into their next one?!!!!
  2. Its all relative to the piston speed in the shock. So if its a sharp sudden impact then its high speed, if its undulations in the road surface loading the car up and making the car light etc then its low speed...of course there is a window of cross over. If the bumps under brakes are a problem then it sounds like its high speed rebound that may need some work
  3. GT2 Powered Cayman would be a good thing
  4. Its good to see that penalties are not being handed out for anything and everything....but there needs to be some standards, This weekend was lineball on a few things, it seems they are pushing more and more each race
  5. Button shouldnt be penalised, it was stupid, but all these highly paid muppets stuff up the simple stuff they dont do too often. I was surprised b how close Hamo and Vettel were followig Webber whilst under the pace car. Surely such crowding is dangerous if the guy in front wants to start building heat into his yres, or os that what they were trying to stop him from doing???
  6. Mate, not having a go or trying to be a ball ache. I am just that kid that follows people around asking annoying questions, why, why, why ...you sure as shit dont have to do anything to my satisfaction or for me! And not asking you to quantify the position of the moon relative to the sun when both cars are braking...So you think the slicks are good for 1.5 (approx) seconds improvement over RE55s...assuming new sets of each????? LOL, i will be banned for asking...but do you get the same fall off in tyre performance with slicks and heat cycles as you do with semis....is the gap possibly more then 1.5 or so seconds???? <{Roy}
  7. Thas sh1t .... i will give you 20K for your GTSt! ... but seriously, thats shit. I left a company weeks before something similar and know how tough it is to have to take a punt on finding a new job...quickly
  8. And i dont think Webber had too bad a race. Sur ehe went backwards, but he got off the line well....was leading the race when most decided to go for tyres....he went mid field..he was a few laps earlier on teh new tyre call which got him in front of Schuey, Massa etc and up behind Vettel...a position he was only in because he got punted by Hamilton on the restart and Schuey was pretty ordinary today.....i wonder if in a few races his neck is going to cause a few problems and quick Nick step in
  9. But wouldnt there be a pressure drop in there arising from something not really worthwhile chasing?????
  10. Hamo driving like a brat is kind of growing on me...its good for a laugh. Its almost as though i cant wait to see what he will try next GP....he shoudl not be allowed to start in the Top 6...or so i have decided! His goofness paif back Webber for the Australian incident
  11. Yeh, hackness ruled today! Shame to see McLaren get penalised post races. Hamo will be in trouble for pit in and out. Restart punting Webber. ...and Button for the re-start...if deemed to have done something wrong then they should have done it during the race...post race rulings suck!
  12. RBR seem to have gotten that call wrong...lets see if Nico can bring it home
  13. Alosno jump start....webber P!. COME ON BABY!
  14. Whats the bet on the restart Vettel gets Webz COme on Mark, Alonso is YOURS!
  15. Im not complaining, if he didnt stuff up every 3rd GP it wouldnt have been near as exciting COME ON WEBZ!

You will find that you cant do CFD modelling without a thorough understanding of fluid mechanics. In making the model you have to have more then a basic understanding of what is going on if you are hoping to get accurate CFD results. The old story of shit in shit out...the packages are not smart enough to allow non scientists/engineers really exploit hwat can be done. I did CFD at Uni in my final year of study, and hated it, because whilst i love the modelling i hate fluid mechanics I found FEA is a little easier to use, partly because my mechanics is better then my fluids but also the software packages are a little smarter as stresses are far simpler then the head fark that is fluids If your studies are related to CFD then you should consider doing it professionally, especially if you enjoy it. Its quite a specialty skill that woudl be great to cruise the market place with
  17. Fark ... 17 mins to race start ad it has started to rain and exected to get harder
  18. Yeh, all the extra fluff that goes with the BBC footage is great. All the pit walks/talks and reviews are interesting. I do like DC and his comments. You can lose that crazy little Jordan, he talks so much smack, often to be controversial etc
  19. Just a question, do you really want to be smoothing the airflow? You want turbulent flow so that when its on its way down the runners its still bouncing around in an excited state and when the injectors squirt away you are getting good mixing. Its all rpm dependant...but...as a rule
  20. Lucrative...damn i wish i knew where to find one Any experience of the Plazmaman inlet manifolds on RB20s? I am running a 6boost manifold with TD06-20G (with 8cm housing) making 260rwkws at 19psi. How best would you describe the change in engine performance characteristics? Mine is sitting in the boot of the car and this thread has just about convinced me to get it installed. Also very interested to hear your thoughts on whether its worthwhil ebumping up the throttle body size when you go aftermarket plenum. I am just in the process of changing from the std Greddy exhaust manifold to the 6boost. I am hoping the combination of the 6boost manifold and plenum may be enough to allow me bump up the exhaust housing size to 10cm. At the moment the engine simply stops making power at 20psi, so seems the little 8cm is choking its top end...lol its all a big trade off with only 2l But ideally it would be nice to be able to run 22psi and make 280-290rwkws, and hopefully not lose too much in the spool with the bigger housing.
  21. Yep, he got lucky...otherwise McLaren would only have one WDC this year
  22. LOL, i know i am. I like analysing upgrades and looking at the science of this stuff...lol too bad i dont have near enough practical experience or sound enough understanding for the science to be applied correctly For a solid improvement in lap times they do seem great value, i mean tyres lose their performance over runs and cost a packet, so something like the wing stacks up well in teh value stakes. Its just that , again, a victim of all my readings and research meant i would have thought there are better thing sout there, but these appear to work well Other then the wing, i am real curious to know the difference the slicks make. Reading your various posts they seem to have given you 3-4seconds at EC, but i am not sure of what other mods you have may have done with the slicks when you broke the EC record. Are the Porka slicks considered decent things, even though they come from a class where there is a control tyre?
  23. Yeh, its where he beached it coming into the pits, probably costing him a WDC in his rookie year
  24. Hair muff then. I wonder what Brawn is thinking right now. Paid huge money for the German to come out of retirement, when he could have kept the Brazilian for almost nothing...and at this time in their careers its clear that Rubens is the quicker of the two
  25. Mate, you dont want the ESPN coverage...its pretty bad. They commentate from a studio nowhere near the action, so are about as informed as you and me watching the live timing on the internet. Hell they monitor twat posts for gods sake. That said even though the commentators are also English, its nowhere near the Brit lovefest that is BBC
