  1. What does the gap with the headlights look like with this approach? Very clever by the way Because you never went in a properly modified example Should have wound up the 2535 to 240rwkws, from there and higher they start to feel decently quick
  2. Yeh, but i am now waiting on an email that will have me working OS for 12-18months and travelling either side of it, so this sort of stuff can be sold to pay for the body mods the car will be getting while i am away
  3. Cool sponsors but none with any real money for the team. Its a crock of rubbish that they have banned tobacco sponsorship. It may affect the brand of smokes people smoke, but i cant see it affecting people who dont smoke. It should really be up to the team and its other sponsors whether they want to run tobacco sponsorship. Especially in light of the where some of the money of other sponsors comes from. Oh and see Kimi this week 200k Corvette which he bought and does not know where it is http://en.f1-live.com/f1/en/headlines/news...728105932.shtml
  4. Have been holding onto these for a buyer, but doesnt look like going through. So anyone that previously made enquiries, they are back and depending on the day of the week may accept offers as i have some expenses coming up
  5. If the shocks are in good condition, then you can always throw softer springs in. ZEAL are Endless shocks and typically a pretty expensive shock, so cant imagine they are going to be too bad. Good quality shocks have an ability to make high spring rates feel pretty normal
  6. No worry about the weight, i was just taking a cheap shot as the new Work rims are over 3kg heavier each corner, and they still dont clear my brakes so not the smartest upgrade i have made
  7. New the kits are worth between $4500 up to $7,000. I think it depends on where you buy them and who from. Second hand if you find a full kit then they are usually about/under 3k with all the piping etc. I am considering selling mine is for sale as my car is getting parted out in preparation for Track R32 EVO II Sad news is it will be off the road for a long time
  8. I am waiting for an email re work committments, if things go my way my car will be getting a hiding at the Maserati day on Aug 17 Only my new rims suck and someone bought my uber cool light wheels
  9. Good work on getting the RB26 PFc working on RB20 Thats my tip of what he means
  10. LOL, wrecker special This is the 3rd std RB20 with this turbo setup making about the same power, the other two have plenty of kms under their belts with plenty of drift, track and motorkhana work to prove they are reliable at this power. I expect this setup will continue the trend
  11. Two stage boost controller isnt as pronounced though. Running lower boost just gives you less power. It is surprising just how lethargic the car becomes when it is not in M mode. I didnt play with the diff or suspension settings, but the M button on the steering wheel was easy to play with, it literally killed throttle response and made the car feel doughy. Needed a lot more throttle application to drive the car. Press the M button and the instantly felt more agile and precise, all because of how the car responded to inputs. They was i woudl expect an M3 should always drive. Its almost as though non M model turns it into a 320i hire car from Thrifty I dont know if non M mode does anything to the car outside of engine???? So, i would be surprised if any owner drove their car in non M mode?!?! But it sounds great, goes well and is very nice car. I dont think it is quick as many of the other cars in the price bracket. but it makes the right sounds and belnds in nicely so dont have to put up with too much attention.

    Z06 Vs R35

Think back to what the big sports car gusy were punching out in 1989-1993 and the C4 ZR1 was good thing in its day as well. LT5 quad cam V8 making 386hp in early models and 405 hp in later models. It did pretty well and was really only eclipsed by the 959 and F40 in its day. They are now in a price range where you can get a L98 or LT1 C4 and spend some nice coin on them tweaking them.
  13. LOL, i take it that HSV cannot count on your for a deposit then Adam? But, steady on with statements about the quality of VE Commodores, especially when you have never seen one in the flesh, let alone driven one, or a lesser model HSV for that matter. Oh, and M5 is 230k, E63 is 225k, Audi S6 is 195k, who knows what the RS6 will be. So perhaps the HSV is cheaper because it doesnt have the fancy AWD systems, mutli diff settings. Having driven an M3 they are poo if driven in normal mode. You would never drive the thing in any other mode then M and the diff settings on race etc etc. So what is the point of the tunability when you dont want to downgrade the car any further. I trust the M5 could be very similar with all its diff settings etc. Maybe in Europe with ICE on roads etc it is more critical??!!?? I dont know, but HSV is damn expensive, but i can still see why people could buy it.
  14. what brakes? Do they foul on the spoke or because of the diameter of rotor you are running? Coudl be interested depending on which brakes you have that dont cear and also the weight of the rims. Can you please weigh them? Both front and rear?
  15. LOL because i am not an administrator on this sub forum and cannoth modify old posts That and i look better on the list then if it was to be updated When are you going back to a single?
  16. Hey David, it all comes down to tyres. If you have good tyres and piloting it pretty well, then you will be able to tip in to the 38-39s. If you are running street tyres then you are doing well to get much under 1:44. As Dick Johnson used to say. "Winton, why dont we just have a race around my clothes line?"
  17. Dont be silly, you are running a business and i hope to find out if the plenum is worth the headaches or not. So just to get the car back in one piece

    Z06 Vs R35

Say a yellow C6 the other day as well. Oh so nice! Fact is that are both great cars, and better at different things, quicker at different things in different conditions. I would rather the NA V8 Vette through the Alps in summer, but take the GTR for Europe in winter To some their favourite cars needs to be the best at everything and become a little one eyed. LOL like me with my GTSt
  19. LOL, i point it out as to my understanding... The GTR was a Grp A Touring Car. It was built by Nissan, homologated by Nissan to go Grp A racing. At seasons end 1990 the FIA killed the Group A category. Some countries went to a new formula straight away (i think, may have to check this for all the countries) , with the Poms going 2L straight away, i think the Germains hung in there for a season longer until the new formula was formed. So the Poms, Germans, French, etc etc all started their own respective series of tin top racing. Here in Australia the cars looked the same as the Grp A cars but they were strictly speaking no longer Grp A cars in 1992 and 1993. The cars were getting long in the tooth, Nissan Australia having just dominated the series had no long term goal to remain in the series, and had no intention of running the R33 as the cars development in Japan was more GT car then touring car. So we in Australia went with a formula that would use Australias largest manufacturers, Holden and Ford. If we had of taken the same path as all the Eurpeans we would be running 2L cars or 2.5L cars, all NA, either fwd, awd or rwd. We ran them alongisde the V8s for a while and other then Cotter/Doulman, Longhurst/Morris nobody wanted to run them. Longhurst going customer Perkins cars didnt help the class. If we had of followed the Japanese we would not have had touring cars, we would have been running far more expensive GT cars. Or we could have allowed teams to run whatever car they want, using a platform that is no longer for sale in Aus, about to go out of production in Japan, one that Nissan Australia had no intention of supporting/running for more then another season etc etc. So i think its not being overly picky to say they were orphaned, not thrown out or banned. Its like saying they were banned from the German series because BMW and Mercedes didnt want to be racing them in 1992! Its not correct. Nissan didnt even want to run the GTR in countries other then Japan and Australia so why would managers of categories in other countries try to accomodate them? Did Nissan want to continue to run the GTR as an R33? No, Nissan Australia wanted out. Racing didnt help sell their road cars, winning on Sunday didnt sell on Monday. It made a great story and Wheels/Motor etc eat it up courtesy of Mike Raymond and his lingo on race weekends. But simple fact it is not factual.
  20. LOL...NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If that is your car in your post then keep the rotor in it. (oh and looks like a great FC by the way ) RBs are big , heavy and lazy things, which work well in a Skyline...but. Hell i would say throw a V8 in the FC before an RB
  21. Great looking R31. I so miss my old R31 Where abouts is your workshop? I wouldnt mind giving my car a run on the dyno to see how my setup with std plenum stacks up against the R31s with aftermarket plenum?
  22. Im kind of with you, then you lose me If you want to make a point, its best not to use internet fan boy fodder to support an argument. Can you please show me any class of motorsport where Nissan has been banned? I dont know of one. Grp A racing died, most manufacturers looked elsewhere and new classes of Touring Car racing was created. At no point was the GTR banned! The point you should be making is that when running Nissan were always competitive in tin top racing, have had some decent forays into Le Mans etc, and with the R32 GTR dominated the Gp A series despite having weight etc thrown at them. But they were not banned. The class of racing that they ran in died internationally and then two years later here in Aus, so it was an orphan, not an outcast. As for the Silvias , yeh, go back to original GTR and 240Z etc. But Holden have had the 327 GTS Monaro, XU1, some interesting and very popular cars. Not saying one is better then the other, but this is the general discussion part of SAU and it doesnt kill anyone to pay credit when deserved to other manufacturers. Holden have made a decent car in the VE, no point comparing it to VP Commodores, or i will go and say to compare a 1981 Skyline with an R33 What they have built is a car that is M5, E63, RS6 proportioned, and equally quick. Priced competitively and has an appeal for those in the hunt for such a car. No car appeals to everyone, and the fact that this doesnt appeal to you is no cause for throwing insults/dirt at those who want one. There are people that dotn want to own an Auto, rules out E63. There are those that dont want AWD, rules out the RS6. Some people dont like the HSV badge which means they will front the extra money for the M5 which is no doubt a better car. But Top Gear liked the R8 Clubbies performance and driving experience. So no reason to see why the driving experience of a W427 wont put a smile on your face As for Clarkson pulling his neck ? LOL, is that really true? I have watched Clarkson since back in the mid 90s and he is always pulling those sorts of stunts for "dramatic' appeal
  23. Well Vettel has been looking pretty good in testing the past few days and today RBR and Webber were quickest in 2008 configuration. Hoping that development is continuing for RBR and that they can get onto the bumpers of the BMWs, a place where Trulli seems to have arrived mid season
