  1. Are you having a scavenge there for dry sump?
  2. I think this is a great build and it is upsetting a few people for the fact that it is very different and taking an engineering approach to the build not just a list of brand parts that "has worked before" for so many people. Every improvement is approached with a proven engineering theory behind it and it is applaudible that Bobby is going to all this effort for us to see and is being transparent with the whole build. Instead of criticising we should all be thanking and encouraging him. Now where are those photos of the pistons Bobby
  3. Wow! Brilliant result.
  4. That is indeed very impressive! What size turbine housing on the T88? 18cm?
  5. They are very similar to T517Z's.
  6. Ferrea are awesome and is what I got. Ti valve unless you want to rev to 10k and it to last a short period of time is the biggest waste of money. $300 each mate I have the quote if you want to see it, by the way there are 24 of them. Custom made from US same people that do the top NASCAR shit. Naprec is also no good. Titanium is only weight saving you can rev it higher (less mech losses as valve train light). Those cams are very short duration too for twin 3540s and lots of revs and power.
  7. I still have the piece of paper to show this!
  8. Pistons ...also, on your dry sump tank is that a built in filter block on your scavange return?
  9. Yes and maybe. Hope you got deep pockets, not only won't they last long but you are looking at $300 each for a valve.
  10. Full fluids with 3/4 tank of fuel. No driver... would have been a lot worse we me in the driver seat, you have seen the state of me Brad, lol. I think if you could get at least 100-150kg of weight out of the R33 GTR in the front half of it it would make a lot of difference. Good to chat with you Fineline, cheers mate.
  11. Fairly standard R33 GTR Vspec FR: 430kg FL: 447kg RR: 360.5kg RL: 331kg Total 1568.5kg
  12. Bobby, can we see a finished piston ready to be assembled?
  13. So? An 044 internal is fine, I use one and control it with Vipec. Stop posting crap.
  14. Yes it is wierd, I am sure clearnaces between the stem and the guide would play a big part in it too. Just doing some reading I would rather use a bronze type guide for its heat transfer properties but not if they are wearing out quickly! I asked Ferrea again about the seats but this is what they said about the guides. "a good manganese bronze or a copper bronze mix"
  15. What did you end up using for your guides? Did you just get the standard valves seats machined to suit? Cheers
  16. Yes but from what Bobby has already mentioned the squish pads will be kept; I am sure the head is ported. I can't remember if oversize valves are being used too?
  17. What about for heat transfer pulling heat away from the valve stem? I am doing some research myself to find out what are the ideal guides to use for my Ferrea Comp. Plus valves (+1.0mm); I have asked Ferrea directly what they would recommend so will report back.
  18. Bobby, I am also interested in what John has to say with running such high compression and high boost. Obviously E85 makes it better but how much timing realistically would you be able to run with close to 10:1 static comp and 50psi boost? What is the deck height and head gasket thickness?
  19. Brett West at Adelaide Performance Engineers (Graham West Workshops); only guy I trust.
  20. Hi Bobby, can you update with photos to show how this will work?
  21. It is the best way but it is expensive; the tighter the tolerance, slower the cut, more $$$. Seems like someone has already done it but the offer is still there. If someone has a set of old gears and a crank or a crank collar I can do the design and also FEA (for s**ts and giggles).
  22. If someone donates a set of pump gears and a junker crank I will do all design work and get quotes.
