unplug the afms, if it idles then they are the proble with them unplugged, it should go into limp mode allowing it to be driven (just) and gives you a 2400 redline
-
no worries, let me know what it is when you work it out

after 2 or 3 mins the oil has thinned out its hard to understand but say at 20°c the thickness of a 10w40 is 100 and the thickness of a 15w40 is 120 because the both carry the same hot rating they should both thin to the same viscosity when hot, say 20 after a few mins, the oil has warmed up and is probably at about 40 (higher being thicker) so its now making its way into the lifters, filling them with oil and all is well i'd give your engine a good flush buy 2 bottles of nulon oil and some cheap oil (cheap as possible) run it through for 15-20 mins, raising the revs to 2500 every 5 mins and holding them there for 30 seconds (raises the oil pressure etc) drain the now dirty oil and change the filter, refill with sougi

Thermo Wrap... Is It Actualy Decent?
pipster11 replied to chef_stagea's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
for the cost, you may as well get the stock cast manifold hpc coated inside and out like some ppl said, it keeps the heat in = larger volume of gas = faster gas flow will also cool down your engine bay no end get your dump done at the same time, thats about the only sections to worry about getting it done to -

Upgrading Stagea Headlights & Fog Lights
pipster11 replied to Sydneykid's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
i read an article on yellow vs white light in fog light is light no matter what colour it is and its wavelength doesn't change much so yellow wasn't found any more effective than white fogs fog lights are also wide spread and designed for other cars to be able to see you and, in qld, yellow is a reserved colour for emergency vehicles - racq, tow trucks etc -
well this is what my friend said i've asked him what his "more effective option" is and i'll let you know what he thinks

has anyone looked at the plugs on the ecu's? i'm guessing that they are vastly different but i know of a guy running a vq35de in an n15 pulsar with an r34 ecu running the show (with a bikirom board installed) food for thought

yeah, might ask them about that cos it still pulls a tiny bit to the left (no road camber correction) but i guess they only measured the caster on one side? -

wang some oil down that bore, if it comes up then its the rings orring lands if it stays down then its in the head which would mean that you don't have to rebuild the block rnd 3! the first settings on the front are way off cos i changed the steering rack ends and aster is adjusted with the stock bushes, you only get a tiny bit of adjustment tho -
was just thinking then, have you checked all your fuses? have a search around, there is a translation for the inside fuse box floating around
-
been there for a while now just gonna get another door when i get back to qld, strip everything off it, paint it, put my plastic bits on and swap them over

+1000000000000000 a stagea owner was also told recently by a gw rep that he should use something other than sougi either http://www.gulfwestern.com.au/Syn%20X%203000.html or http://www.gulfwestern.com.au/Protecta%20Ultra.html or something like that he said it had better adhesion to metallic surfaces than the sougi

type r all around i've got focal splits up front and type r 2 ways in the rear doors, no sub (yet) all running off the head unit (think you need the same Ω front and back) you can notice the sound from the rears more than you think and it gives it much better "stage" if they are all matched i find the focals lack a bit of mid and bass but the type r's do well im thinking about one of those under seat subs too, or maybe a powerful 10" in a small ported box or maybe i'll put the twin 12's in from my suby -
beware of high km magnas take the oil filler off after a decent drive of one, if there is a smoke show going on in there, walk away saying that, the are a decent motor if they are maintained hyundai used that motor in the v6 elantra's too the 3.5 is better tho
-
to be honest mate, there is not much difference at all run the sougi, you won't be disappointed 5w and 10w are the cold rating = the viscosity at room temp, so that viscosity is only useful during the first few mins of the engine running and the difference between the 2 would not be noticeable really, 5w and 20w would be but you mas as well run 10w, its more common
