  1. Money burns holes in pockets.....did anyone say power trip?
  2. Go a nismo/tomei/hks [these pumps all look the same but have different labels on them] or a bosch pump just to be sure to be sure. 555's are good for the job, 750's will also be fine. You can run whatever evc you want, so a profec is fine [just turn the boost control option off on the power fc]. Do all your mods and drive it to the shop is OK, but take it easy. If you have a fmic and zorst etc you'll get 270-300rwkw out of that setup.
  3. I guess it all depends on the bargain price your friend is offering you!!!
  4. Yeah, sorry I wasn't sure so took the 'not insulting but refuting' approach. Lol at '90's Commie, I've probably been in one, but never cared enough to notice. And TBH, I'd probably get one and use it if I was at a drag strip meet or something, but otherwise I don't need it, you tend to feel the torque drop off and change up anyway. I think you'd get eye strain looking at that one though, be like ground level front row seats for the movies and watching an epic battle like LOTR's or Star Wars etc - my neck hurts thinking about it......lol
  5. Wreckers.......or lincorp maybe?
  6. I use gasoline, pour approx. two litres down and then stand back and light it..........clears all sorts of drains.
  7. blow by, but it depends on how bad it is. Doing it at idle isn't good, but if you rev it you'll always get some oil spitting out. Its the same if you take your filler cap off, do it on a healthy car and then do it on yours, use a cover rag so you don't end up with a mess - check the difference. If its a lot then you probably have worn rings etc. Do a comp test then.......
  8. I've only got cheap NRG malaysian electronic stepper motor gauges and they work fine. They do a whole of range and scale check every time you turn them on, this helps with setting baselines and accuracy. I haven't heard anything bad about Saber gauges, they're probably OK. I had Greddy gauges, they were analogue ones, sold 'em, too many hassles with them. You say you've 'T'ed the pressure in at the sender, where have you picked up the temp? I've got a sandwich plate at my oil filter that has adaptor holes in it for both temp and pressure, so the oil flows past both senders all the time. If you've got yours in a dead end spot you may actually only be measuring the block temp instead of the oil temp? This would expalin the slow response.
  9. Don't open it......no please don't!!!
  10. No idea what car it is. It was on photobucket, it was free, I don't have one , I don't want one,...........it was the closest I found at short notice.
  11. Just got CS5 [Adobe spoilers caught up to me with CS4], so I'll give it a try, thanks Skittles.
  12. Using Photoshop CS4 and the clone tool moves each time you apply it. Thats OK, meant to happen, but when you lift and then start again it doesn't go back to the original sample location [like in other packages I've used]. Is there any way to get it to return to the original sample location every time you lift the mouse button? BTW I'm doing an old photo with heaps of stains and creases in it, normally I would use photostudio which is a simpler program, but this time the photo is that bad that I need more tools and smoother blending/dithering ability. See attached.....its a mess, but I reckon I can still get something decent out of it. But this clone tool is frustrating me a bit. The healing tool is excellent though.
  13. Yer think mine is fahrenheit
  14. Listen to us peasants arguing over sheep stations......................lmao
  15. What a lot of ppl don't think about is that when you flash your lights, your taillights flash as well!!! So if your still within visible range of the popo, they can chase you and get right nasty. I don't flash on the main highways [Hume, Princess, Pacific, Sturt, Calder etc] cos you'd have to be a first class unit to speed on them roads, cops, speed camera's and the Macquarie Bank reps are everywhere. I do flash when its on the back or byroads becasue you never ever expect radar on them. But I only flash when I'm out of sight/around the corner to the cops. And I'm also a bit selective, motorbikes and trucks, normal cars are kewl, but high rollers and late model commodores/falcons [could be cop cars] are out.
  16. If you ever get an EVC with a digital display, you can be doing 100km/h down the road and your boost is reading negative.
  17. Ok, then expect to pay $15-$20K for a good one [you can get cheaper, but I did say a good one]. I have a '98 and I gave up keeping a running total at $20K. And I noted everything down, if it was for the 'line then I added it to the total. Honestly there are absolute sub $20K 300rwkw bargains out there in the Gtst range, and in very good to pristine condition - but take your time and shop around, its a buyers market.
  18. Doesn't sound right to me. My oil temp doesn't start till 40' [from memory and too lazy to check] but it starts working within a couple of km's so like 5 minutes and its slowly heating up. Settles on around 85 to 90'. Oil pressure never drops to zero, sits around 3.5 to 4, drops to around 2 [usually 2,something, maybe 2.2???] at idle. All the senders look the same, but they are for different ranges. You would be better off getting another Saber one just to be sure.
  19. I use a solar panel and regulator. I wired a plug in above the rear number plate. But I get the SP and reg free from work. Its only a 10 watt unit and we have recently standardised on 30 watter's for all our sites.
  20. Depending on what you buy......a good r33 GTR with say 350kw goes for $30-40K. If you did that yourself you could spend close to that on just the mods alone. The car will still set you back +$20-25K. And its relative, so any car will be similar give or take. The only thing you miss out on is the learning experience and the 'built not bought' edict. But you'll have a lot of skun knuckles, late nights and downtime achieving it.
  21. you know what to get them for Xmas then............
  22. screams WRC [if it wasn't for the engine size that is] or Dakar. But I'm sure they will find a niche for it.
  23. Over capitalising on a car that isn't worth it..........mechanics can see you coming!!!!
