  1. Most people dont' change their 3" cooler piping out anyway Of course to flow 700hp of air out of some of the singles you don't need 30PSI which probably helps just a tiny tad.... Will be interested in seeing how the 60's go as they won't be putting out as much power.
  2. So you're saying you think the heat issue is cropping up due to less efficient compressor with the gtx60/63 compressors, different manifolds and the merge pipes? Because all things being equal a single setup isn't going to have any different piping from where it passes under the passenger headlight onwards
  3. Lol. I'll post something when its done. Wouldn't exactly call them hybrid turbos though, just a front housing change.
  4. Mmm, 30psi by 4500rpm. For reference, when you say custom intake piping, you mean the standard gtx anti surge covers with piping made up to suit them?
  5. You may have to wait a while, they shall be going onto the shed shelf at first as I'm doing a road trip to Victoria for 3 weeks straight after i get back. But yeah as above the 60s should indeed flow a tad more than -5s.
  6. My gtx 2860s with 33 compressor housings are done... And I can't pick them up for 2 weeks. Oh well, let the suspense continue!
  7. The VG30+GTX2863 combo is purely mental. I imagine however that most people would have a mental breakdown or two getting everything right with the build to get those great numbers though. Was the GTX2863 car yours mike?
  8. I've not replaced my lines outside of the tank, no issues
  9. I ended up going down the gtx path but I've yet to install them. Did you balance brand new turbos or were they second hand?
  10. Well, that's not very good then. Guess i can throw the standard comp covers back on if it doesn't work out...
  11. Any idea what front housings he used?
  12. Gtr ones are smaller however. Best option is not to use a z32 one but a nismo one, which has the extra flow measurement capability in a stock sjzed housing.
  13. You went to them and asked them to fix the ping and missfire, so I can see why they may not have stopped the job when they found the issues. Still unfortunate
  14. Guess we should all bolt -10's on, no need to be fast in city traffic so we can go for full track setup then
  15. Can't speak for the linked injectors, but the bosch ID injectors are known to be fine for idle, compared to some of the older generation big injectors. Mine 850's idle great.
  16. Slightly related, but are there any good replacement filters with a GTR style bend on the top? Having potential fuel issues, would be good to know that it wasn't the filter at fault. Any part numbers would be handy.
  17. I learnt something. even if it was just that there's so many choices. To throw another can of worms onto the fire: would 3K be better spent on a stroker, or on RB25 NEO VCT onto the 26 head?
  18. The whole Rubber hoses cause lag thing comes from some other other japanese cars, first that comes to mind is certain Mitsubishi, that have 1+m of rubber pipe on each end of the intercooler. GTR isn't that bad. That being said I got a second hand Greddy kit for a good price and I can't complain. Can attach fittings to it for sensors too which is nice.
  19. Well lets throw something else into the mix, what brand stroker do people go for? Are they as all good as each other, or or some above the rest?
  20. So, assuming crank isn't, as is the case here for example, ~3000. Bit bigger than $1000, but not huge
  21. I find it interesting that people are very... flippant when mentioning the cost of the stroker. "1000 bucks more". Honestly, is it really that little? Particularly with some of the Japanese kits i'd expect that you'd be looking at a larger increase for the stroker.
  22. MTQ has them for that price also, but, apparently Garrett have none in stock and aren't doing a production run until November. Ended up that buying someones turbo's was the best option, so now i've got cores+rear housings, and a set of factory front housings that I will get machined to fit the GTX2860's into. At this rate I may have the turbos done by mid September, But I probably won't install them until the new year. Would like to do them sooner, but i'd also like to have a working car for my 3 week roadtrip to Victoria
  23. If you did, did you run into any issues with the factory front covers on the GTX wheel? That's the route i'm heading down at the moment, but any experiences people have had with that combo would be interesting
