  1. A lot of the newer Whiteline and nolathane bushings are PTFE lined, which require no greasing.
  2. OEM is actually 29mm hollow. My 30mm solid bar went straight into OEM rubber "D" bushes and OEM shells.
  3. Ah, the old "Double the power for $6000" trick; Love it. Bearing in mind that it's taken me at least that to get 80kw out of a turboed VQ; I'm gonna suggest that some serious budget revision is in order.
  4. The one thing I would like; is to have full flow through the cooler circuit in tiptronic mode.
  5. Looks the goods; any reason you didn't like the BC's? Are you planning to upgrade and use the EDFC on them?
  6. Good to hear; he reckons it's mint. Sounds like you've bought well.
  7. The good news is; it's not too late to flip your car upside down in a garden bed and blame "Cold tyres" for the whole thing. You might be pressed for time to get the single pegger diff and steelies fitted though.
  8. Dem pro tips.
  9. I can't wait for the next lot of pictures of some retarded mudflap wrapping their car around a pole just outside the event! So excitement.
  10. I haven't found anyone who will take a mould and reproduce them for a sensible price as yet.
  11. Notching the recess out of the blanking plate would work perfectly for the cooler; IMO brake ducting would be better from underneath the car rather than through the front bar, but on a street car is almost redundant.
  12. Oh, I don't know; Sometimes these things turn out better than you could hope.
  13. It works, and I don't really believe there's much to be gained by replacing it with a hard pipe or a silicone reducing bend of much the same dimensions. That; and I'm lazy...
  14. I should say so; wednesday is looking good.
  15. Not sure if the pump strainer is in here; might be worth getting it added to the front page. Strainer Assy; 16400-4M405 Hornsby Nissan price; $38.70
  16. I did this today. I've been talking with Roger at Hybrid Development Industries for several months now, and expressed interest in their MAX-Rom subcomputer when they announced that they were planning to introduce it to the NM35 Stagea market. First run was 179kw (all runs in RWD); this was the second run. This was (I think) the 4th run; was starting to sound quite mean by this stage. Boost control from the OEM controller was all over the place, so we ditched it and put this on. 6th run produced this; This is a monstrous effort on the stock injectors! Roger and Adam Neish did a fantastic job on the dyno tune, and then after a road test made a couple of small adjustments to get rid of a tiny knock event. The tune is quite conservative; with the injectors at 87% duty and running just 12-13psi. In Adam's words the tune is "As safe as houses" his comment about Roger's tune was "He still puts down the numbers" which was a pretty solid compliment coming from Adam. Keeping in mind that this is the very first tune they've ever done on a Stagea; and this is the first step of a process of development, I think it's a fantastic starting point. He was very impressed with the little VQ, and reckoned it was still making solid power at 6500rpm. The difference in the way the car drives is just unbelievable. Previously the injectors were maxed at 5100rpm, so I could never really use full throttle through the rev range. The car while fast; was never completely happy, and ran very rich on boost. It has run a 13.8sec quarter @102mph; but there was much more to be had. It never hit AFM cut, but there was so much potential to unlock; well, consider it unlocked now!
  17. Did you ever get the dump pipe crack sorted?
  18. Bought from a friend, so yes. A few issues on Tuesday; a problem with my Attessa pump, and ran out of time to remove front shaft. Also the tuner had limited time on the day, so we decided to reschedule to a day when the tuner had plenty of time to dedicate to the tune. A new Walbro pump will finally be going in on Friday as well as the shaft removal; the pump issue can wait for now. This will ensure we achieve the best result, and hopefully we'll have a new player in the VQ25DET tuning game.
  19. Fitted new plugs, HDi intercooler kit, and did an oil change. Ready for the dyno tomorrow!
