  1. At a guess, I'd say, first thing in the morning, the belt's less grippy because it's cold, also the load from the alternator is quite high, giving a rev while the alternator is loading the belt could cause the slip.
  2. Looks nice Danny! A bit of satin black, completely stealth
  3. First thing I would look at is belt tension, as it's a 5 minute fix. Then, if all seems well, I'd check for belt wear, as they wear, the peak of each rib in the belt can bottom out in the grooves on the pulley. The belt relies on the wedging action of the sides of each rib in the belt, not contact with the base of the pulley groove. You then lose the wedging action of the belt; voila! Slippage with a correctly tensioned belt. Hope this makes sense, Dale
  4. Yep, just saved yourself a bunch of money
  5. If it's the last couple of weekends, I'll be in!
  6. Mid November looks good! I'm keen! Will have some new shiny things attatched to my car by then!
  7. If you had noticed at the time, refusing to pay the bill until they agree to have all damage repaired , certainly would have made them be careful NEXT time... But seriously, how long was it before you noticed? If it was only hours, go back complain, it's your property they're working on , you're paying them, there's an expectation that they don't damage things... It's a shame to have to find out this way, check out ANY work done on your car BEFORE you pay. Most mechanics, etc, are careful, but some are not.
  8. Kickarse Danny! Once again leading the charge to empty our wallets! Thanks for the discs mate, no more shudder . How did you go with your shocks?
  9. Might be an idea to leave it to the experts, I can't think of the last time I used a hammer on ANYTHING car related. Also, wire type gapping tools are the best for plugs , particularly platinum or iridium plugs. The sharp edge of feelers can scrape off the coating you pay so much for. Use the right tools and you'll be sweet.
  10. Unique Autosport used to do a kit with 325mm discs and brackets for s14- s15, gt-t's ect. Seeing the caliper PCD is the same on the Stagea, that would be an option. Can't remember prices, but wasn't terrible, considering it came with discs as well.
  11. I like your thinking, a supercharged 4wd 3.5l stag would be quite a weapon. Might be easier/ cheaper to buy a PNM35 and s/c it?
  12. I believe it means scotty nm35 has his first taker for the VQ35det group buy... Back on topic, it seems to mean that, no, the HKS GT-RS doesnot appear to be a direct fit.
  13. Some cars it works fine, others not so well. Just remember that a thermo will not supply anything like the volume of air that a viscous clutch fan can supply. From memory, at full whack, a clutch fan will pump over 3000cu/ft per min, a 16" thermo around 1500cu/ft. If your cooling system is marginal, it won't keep up. I've run them in the past and had no issues, always Davies Craig, never cheapies.
  14. The problem would be that under the flares, you still have the standard panel work to deal with. Still you could certainly do some hardcore guard rolling, as it's all out of sight. That would definitely change things.
  15. My old R31 used to do this randomly, (had the hitachi starter not the bosch) turned out when I stripped the starter, one brush (out of four) was worn more than the others, and would occasionally juuust not be in contact with the comm. Would start perfectly 50 times, then not, start perfectly for ages then not. Was a major pain, couldn't let my g/f drive it cos it might strand her. Four new brushes (I just took the brush holder to an auto elec, as the leads are soldered in place, didn't have a big enough soldering iron) $45 later, problem solved. Chased this issue for at least 4 months, was ready to burn it... Good luck.
  16. I'd measure the dia of the collars, and give just jap, otomoto or someone who imports coilovers a call, see if they will sell you the spanners. Most coilover kits seem to have very similar hardware, several different brands coming out of the same factories, I would be surprised if you can't get hold of something suitable. Alternatively, you can buy proper C-spanners,(forged steel, chrome plated), not just profile cut steel, from most reputable tool suppliers (not supercheap, etc).
  17. Definitely keen, they look great! Good work on getting these fabricated.
  18. You can bash away on your car with screwdrivers and hammers if you like , but you're better off to go and buy the correct tools for the job, c-spanners work so much better and don't damage anything. Up to you really.
  19. Foamy smoo, lol, can't believe nobody spotted that one. You guys have changed...
  20. It's a shame in these situations that they just won't own up, accidents happen, everyone understands. Denial only leaves a bad taste in people's mouths. Hope you get it all sorted.
  21. I'd dispute this, does your importer have proof the car wasn't damaged before the truck picked it up? If so, throw the responsibility back on them. You didn't pay for a smashed up car. If they're not at fault, then they'll want the trucking company to stump up. Just because the car is modified, doesn't give them an excuse to trash it, if anything they should be MORE careful.
  22. Is that all four discs Danny, are you prepared to sell the discs alone? What's your price? Geez at this rate I could end up buying your whole car! lol PM me with a price if you like mate.
  23. Didn't you have a set of these for sale a while ago? lol, jokes, jokes...
  24. Likewise, price, keen to get on board!
