  1. What kind of dollars are you thinking Danny?
  2. I am also using normal key blanks, (have an immobiliser, has its own fob, does locks) works no problems.
  3. Something around a 245 would be spot on.
  4. Hi Bie-e-bee, I didn't get a chance to talk to you at the meet on Sunday, had to get going. Do you have a spare copy of FAST? Happy to pay postage. Cheers' Dale
  5. Great stuff, give me your banking details and I'll transfer some cash I'll pm my address. Cheers, Dale
  6. RDA list slotted rotors for the m35. Front is a current maxima disc, $350 and the rear is X-Trail, $250. Don't have part no. Cheers, Dale
  7. Great to meet every one and see some cool cars, looking forward to the next one... How friendly are Stagea owners
  8. Hi Steve, I'm in Emu Plains if you're interested, more than welcome to have a look. Fire me a pm if you like. Mine is a nm35. Cheers, Dale
  9. It seems to be a lack of respect for other peoples property, don't know why. If I damaged ANY of the machinery I work on I would be looking for a new job... Whenever I have tyres fitted I insist the fitters NOT use rattle guns to tighten wheel nuts. My mechanic works on some big dollar machinery and uses plastic coated sockets on wheel nuts, they also have a ball clutch to prevent overtightening. You can purchase these at supercheap, surely they would be worth the spend if you were a tyre fitter.
  10. Definitely count me in for one of these!
  11. Yeah, apparently these were just off the shelf springs. I saw this car when I was looking for mine, but they're a bit low for me. Did look the goods tho'
  12. Would definitely be interested, let me know when you need dollars. D
  13. Yeah, but I haven't been able to speak with Steve unfortunately, the guy I dealt with just wasn't interested in looking past what the computer screen said at all. I was a bit disappointed to be honest, I've bought a lot of gear from them in the past. Having said that, I found that rhdjapan has Nismo S tune kits for $1600 landed, (sea freight) so I'm looking at going down that road. Don't really want to go very low, and the longer stroke of conventional shocks (versus adj coilovers) should give a nice ride.
  14. I feel so much better now
  15. OK dude, I realise now you're still using the rigid line that bolts into the back of the caliper (my bad on that one), I had removed this and used a braided line all the way to the caliper (hence my reference to removing the double flare seat in the caliper) So i was just relaying my experience, not really any need for your schoolyard "fail" insult, seriously, you probably wouldn't do it if we were speaking face to face. You didn't upset me (need to try a bit harder than that), I just don't understand the juvenile need some people have to score petty points when they're really just splitting hairs. A little bit of respect goes a long way. Probably shouldn't have chipped you back, but you started it. I also like your highly technical comments, gave me a good laugh. Just because you did it one way, doesn't make it the only way. Take it easy, Dale
  16. No worries, I'm also only after about 1.5". Looks like I've got some leads to chase down. Thanks guys, Dale
  17. You never know with Nissan, I always call 'em first, you sometimes get a surprise. At least you can get the pieces you want, so that's good.
  18. Thanks Andy, I'll give them a go. Cheers, Dale
  19. Fail yourself mate, a banjo fitting is a round (or square) fitting on the end of a line with a HOLE THROUGH THE MIDDLE. The bolt I was referring to is what goes through the hole, with a copper compression washer on either side of the fitting and then threads into brake line hole. There are only two ways to attach a brake line to this caliper, With a double flare, which bolts the line in with a "spinning nut thingy" (included technical jargon for your benefit) around the end of the line itself or with a banjo bolt, "turny bolt thingy" through a banjo fitting. What do you think mounts the brake line into the caliper? Because i can assure you it isn't "2 legged spring washer things." ARE you referring to a brake line mounting clip? Perhaps you'd do better to actually read what I actually wrote before insulting people you dont know. Anyone can be a smart guy over the internet, I thought we were on here to help each other, not make smartarse comments. I was just passing on some info on a job I've ACTUALLY done, not something i "believe" to be true. In future you can keep your highly technical "spring washer thing" comments to yourself. Kind regards Dale.
  20. Andy, do you have a contact at Pedders? I've been speaking with Danny at Pedders in Penrith, good guy, tried quite hard to help. Basically told me that the only thing he could dig up (within all the pedders franchises) was a fellow with a white m35 (not AR-X) had some springs matched from another model of car (have seen pics, VERY low) and that if I didn't want to go that low, they could lower and re-temper my std springs for around $600. That way I could have the exact height I wanted. No solution on shocks, so basically $600 for soft, low springs and my std soggy shocks. Not really what I'm after. Apparently, when a franchisee does work on an unusual car, they submit the specs of the parts they used, to Pedders r&d, and they list this info on their database, for future reference. The lack of info suggests that either, only one franchise has worked on an m35, or, If they have modified one, they didn't submit anything to r&d. I've tried another suspension specialist in my area, but unless you speak to the owner (which I haven't been able) and don't own a commodore, (or something easy) the guys aren't prepared to look outside the box to find a solution. At this point, it's looking like I'll have to import japanese components (Tein or Nismo look good at the moment) myself to do an upgrade, but I'd like some feed back from anyone who has done suspension RECENTLY, what they're using, where they got it, performance etc. I had my heart set on Bilsteins but as you explained Andy, they were a limited run item, so, no go there. I can't even get a part no for a sensible height lowered spring... Sorry to drag this off topic.
  21. TOTALLY forgot about this one, and it's even Stag related! The day I picked up my nm35, the first place I went was a servo, filled up, then went to drive away, car wouldn't come out of park! Tried everything, on, then off, etc, minutes tick by, put my foot on the brake, out it comes! What a dumbass , still, there's no point doing stupid stuff unless you tell someone...
  22. My uncle used to be an NRMA guy, called to a job with a frantic woman who'd locked keys in her car. Arrived to see the woman very agitated, and wanting to know how long it would take. Reached in through the OPEN DRIVER'S WINDOW, pulled the keys out of the ignition, placed the keys in the woman's hand. "Shouldn't be too long" he replied, before returning to the van. (So long ago the van was an HQ panelvan) I think I'd have been laughing so hard I'd have to call someone else to do it.
  23. Only problem is, it's only teenage boys, or men in their forties... Why don't hot blondes want to know... I'll even show 'em how the seats fold down.
  24. The round fitting is what's called a "banjo" fitting. You will also need banjo bolts and copper washers (2 per banjo fitting) to complete the job. This only applies if you've removed the double flare seat from the bottom of the brake line threaded hole.
