    Amplifier Bar

Lol, Cam Yeh Amps is definitely not an up market club. I think it's shit actually. It's where the rejects from the Capitol go to be awesome together.
  2. Yeh it's simple man. Take off the cross over pipe and the rubber joiner that goes on the throttle body, there is plenty of room to get the valley cover out.
  3. There are no ADR approved aftermarket carbon fibre bonnets. As Jason said, only way it is legal is if it came like that from factory. Reason they are legal from factory and not aftermarket is simple, your bonnet is part of the crumple zone on your car. Changing the factory item affects how the maker intended your car to behave in a crash and hence makes it unsafe.
  4. Not really sure what the big deal is... Maybe it's because I hate paying rego that I always know when it is due. It is either every 6 months or every year, not that hard to remember when you last paid it. I certainly don't expect the government or it's departments to spoon feed me.
  5. Yeh but the parts are all changeable, if you want harder spring rates then you can just buy the harder springs
  6. Tried bleeding the system, could be an air lock???
  7. Yep, love em
  8. Very big call... Again, I'm not comparing Hillsborough with Wanneroo; I realize there are vast differences between Hillsborough and Wanneroo, that's not my point. My point is large crowds are a huge risk and they need to be managed properly. When that doesn't happen there is a very large risk to peoples health. I'm not pretending to be an expert here, I am not sure what size crowds Barbagallo is set up to handle. From what I've seen at Powercruise and other events, large crowds there start to cause problems.
  9. I'm not comparing Wanneroo to Hillsborough, I said if you do not control large crowds then that is the situation that can occur. From what I have seen of Barbagallo (including being an entrant at Powercruise last month), it is not setup to safely hold that number of people. Just because 20000+ people can fit inside the venue, does not mean it is safe to do so. Saying Australia will never host the FIFA World Cup is a very slanted statement mate, you have no idea what will happen. Australia is more than capable of hosting the event and are committed to making it happen, why should it not?
  10. Well really they shouldn't need too. Even as a 2nd year uni student studying sports management I understand the concepts of a risk management plan and correct event planning procedure, which was evidently not followed. Absolute Rule Number 1 when planning a large scale event is to avoid build up of people. Large crowds need to be correctly controlled, otherwise you get situations like the 1989 Hillsborough Disaster. And when planning an event you use the event planning and implementation model, step 3 of which is Feasibility. The organizers would clearly have known that Barbagallo is not suitable to host that number of people, but probably went ahead with it to make sure it covered the cost of the event. Barbagallo can not safely support the number of people required to make the event financially feasible, therefore the event is not feasible and should never have happened, it's as simple as that. It's like if Australia won the 2022 FIFA World Cup but WA don't have a big enough stadium so event management decides to sell 80000 tickets for a 35000 capacity stadium, you can't do that. Fact is, if it's not designed to handle the event then it can not be used for the event. Major events are a HUGE risk. The public whinge about being excluded from these events but they don't realize that people die when things go wrong. As for the proposed upgrades, I can not see them happening any time soon. The WA government are reluctant to invest in a new multi-purpose stadium for AFL/rugby/football/cricket, let alone a single use venue that will not host any events of global importance. IF there are any upgrades carried out on Barbagallo, they will still not be what is required to bring it up to standard. It will end up being to Motorsport what Subiaco Oval is to stadiums - a 'quilt-work' venue that becomes a danger and embarrassment to the spectators and sports that are hosted there. Nice photo's Cam
  11. Yeh that's a race cat though, just as illegal as a decat. What's the deal with ceramic cats? I know they are shit when it comes to modified cars, but why can they not handle the heat? I thought ceramic was meant to be one of the best materials for dealing with heat?
  12. I'm using a Greddy Profec B-Spec II. I think it's great, would definitely recommend it. Another good option (but highly expensive) is the Turbosmart Eboost 2.
  13. Yeh that reading will depend on where the timer is wired into. If you want the most accurate reading of battery voltage then you need to get it straight from the battery. Not sure how this fits into the forced induction section...
  14. Sounds like terrible event management... But Barbs is a terrible venue, it really isn't set up to handle that sort of event.
  15. You're not going to be pushing more air into the intake, your engine only has so much displacement/boost. Think of it this way, when you breathe in you can only breathe in enough air to fill your lungs. You can't ram in more air by sitting in front of a fan. Engine works the same way, it's the vacuum inside the manifold/engine that draws in the air (and of course the turbo that creates positive pressure), not the air pushing itself into the intake. There is more than enough air inside the cars engine bay already, all you are doing is getting fresh air from the outside.
  16. Cheapo brand, Venom or something. Advertised as a 100 cell high flow, 3" inlet/outlet with 5" body. I never really expected it to be that good, but I didn't have the money to pay $400+ for a cat. I was going to gut the cat, but don't want to change anything until my tuner has his dyno back and can check the tune, make sure it's not leaning out. I'm also not really keen on running a decat, so will probably save for one of the expensive brand name cats.
  17. Neither too much fuel nor too much air is good for the engine.
  18. Why bump lol? I took my cat out today to have a look, but it doesn't look melted from what I can see. I am however still doubting how well it flows, as the entrance to the cat was very very dirty and black while the exit was almost as clean as when I put it in there. Not sure if that is normal for a high flow. I also tried shining a torch down one end and looking down the other, and hardly any light makes it through. You can only just see the light coming through to the other side. Normal?
  19. He's using a ViPEC, do they have a knock map?
  20. Well personally, I was hoping for more gold like this: But I do agree. Tech section, question has been answered.
  21. Going to take my cat out today to see if it is melted or looks blocked in anyway, but not very keen on driving the car so will have to wait for my tuners dyno to be operational again. The rest of my exhaust is very high quality and very free flowing, so I can't see any restrictions there. Intake is 3" metal with no reduction in size or restrictive bends so again I can't see any issues there. I'm also suspicious of my cat so will have to wait and see.
  22. Greddy front mount, 600x300x100. It is possible but the car drives fine, doesn't feel like it has any leaks and I can't hear anything.
  23. Going to drop my exhaust from the front pipe back on the weekend to see if it makes a difference. Just wanted to find out, if it actually does make a difference and the power sky rockets, is it safe to do without the car being tuned for that power? Not going to do what that other guy did and just do it anyway, so if it's not safe to do then I'll get my tuner to do it on the dyno...
  24. Hey all, I have just upgraded my turbo, injectors and AFM so I have no need for these anymore. All have done approximately 65xxxkms and are in perfect condition. Turbo has no shaft play, my tuner (Andrew at Hyperdrive) told me the turbo is in great condition. Injectors were working fine in my car, as was the AFM. Turbo = $400 Injectors = $100 AFM= $60 Photos to come. Located in Perth WA, can post Aus wide at buyers expense. Cheers, Martin.
