  1. I am only starting to get into cleaning and testing, but you are correct, it is very hard to properly clean all the gunk out sometimes from what I have witnessed, especially with the Bosch ev14's as the filter is internal. I would assume a pressure backflush while being actuated at certain frequencies, and perhaps while in the ultrasonic bath might be needed. As you can see, it isn't going to be easy, or cheap, and as the prices of perhaps better quality and larger injectors comes down, you would need to add up the cost of a decent clean, replace filters and Orings, and flow test, compared to simply replacing them. Not many injector specialists will have the equipment to test the larger injectors, I am setting up a jig atm to test 6 2000's, it will obviously require a massive pump, and large beakers to measure the flow over a set time. The 1/2L graduated tubes I have will fill in a few seconds. It will at the very least be able to tell me if one or more injector is flowing less than the others, without melting an engine.
  2. Not fitted yet. Looks like a good unit for the price, I think I paid $180us.
  3. So you want the Japanese look, without actually buying a Japanese muffler? There are plenty of Japanese mufflers without the Jasma restrictions if you look around, or simply cut the restrictor out... Anything sold here will need to have a 4 or 5 inch tip fitted to the end, which again is not hard. Xforce do some good mufflers for the price, and they actually make 3.5 inch in stainless unlike most.
  4. Are you sure you cleaned all the crap out of the hole? Make sure you do as GTRPSI mentioned and run a tap through the thread, then clean them out with carb cleaner, just to make sure there is no oil or crap in the hole or the stud will hydraulically lock before bottoming in the thread.
  5. I assume you mean e10 United 100 octane? Ethanol is a very good solvent. It will clean your entire fuel system of 20 years worth of varnish and gunk and run it through your injectors, especially if your fuel filter isn't filtering properly. Most suggest changing the filter a few times after filling on e85. The injectors haven't failed, simply blocked internally. They just need a clean, replacement filter and flow test.
  6. Track work pushes manifolds to the limits, I would prefer the factory cast one, with factory heat shields personally, and then externally gate the turbo off the housing.. Just don't go too small for turbo housing, it will cause high egt's which no manifold will take for long... Ethanol (e85) will help with longevity.
  7. This. ^^ As there are many other people who are going to read this, just crimp some spade terminals onto the wires and run it to a switch, that way you can easily reset the code every month or two. Leon seems to think everyone is an electronics guru, but there is absolutely no need to automate such a simple signal. All the ecu needs is a 5 second burst of power which is easily automated but I have seen so many wiring faults caused by DIY brake cut fiddling after owners reading threads like this... Now I just recommend the simple wire cut. (unless you feel very confident).
  8. None of us can help then, you need to talk to an engineer willing to accept responsibility, and then it will need to pass an expensive emissions test, (which it will most likely fail) and as you have a programmable ecu the EPA will never pass. (unless you go straight LPG)
  9. Should fit fine with a 20mm spacer. There will be plenty of fabrication work to do though. Is it internal gate? A $300 Chinese knock off doesn't sound like a good idea if you have just built a 25/30, and the turbo cost is nothing compared to the work to fit it. Hence why people recommend the Hypergear highflows.
  10. Can you engineer an RB26 into it? That might get around the ffp bit anyway... Return flow coolers are good for 430+, and I can fit 2.5 inch down past the radiator for cross flow setups. No need for cutting holes in the chassis unless you are planning 450+kw these days. How much did the cert cost you? All the bureaucrats have done is help us prove the stock gear flows more than enough.
  11. It is a fairly blanket law, I don't think there is a way around it, the police will simply defect it anyway. What are you hoping to achieve with the ffp? I have seen 430kw flow fine through the stock one...
  12. Pin 55, not hard to find mate, you don't need the color... Just makes it easier. Perhaps you can get someone color capable to tell you if you have the correct wire? ECU_PINOUTS 13_12_10.PDF
  13. Simply Hylomar spray the MLS gasket before fitting it. Should be fine if you bolt it down hard with ARP studs.
  14. Don't worry about running it to a 12V source. I have had to replace an ecu which blew from fiddling around with 12V to pin 55. Just cut the wire and put a switch over the cut. Run it to wherever you need to mount the switch.
  15. I think so Josh, I will have a look tomorrow if I remember.
  16. No need for an exhaust manifold, or intake for that matter. Most of the stock gear is fine if you stick a large enough turbo on there. Imo you will need e85, Bosch 1000's, Walbro 460L, return flow cooler, 3 inch hard intake and decent 3 inch exhaust. A standalone ecu and GTX3076 or similar should get you there if you pick good supporting parts. How long the engine lasts is anyones guess.
  17. I can't see why not... At least they stuck a bung in it, not just left you with a casting mark to drill through.
  18. Drop the cat, the honeycomb ceramic may have dislodged.
  19. Manley rods installed, mine will have no fear of failure. Any other weaknesses you can think of? I didn't think so.
  20. Beer is for bogans, and S13 drivers... 40% mang.
  21. If you have a twin turbo setup you will need a matching new replacement turbo imo, or a replacement CHRA, rather than a bush core highflow.
  22. 6mm rubber with the metal inserts either side, 250mm long.
  23. One person's idea of fit for a purpose is always different to another's. They might say the coils are fine for stock tune Skylines, at stock boost for instance. I always try to keep my customers very happy, as people will always tell their mates about it, good or bad experiences.
  24. What use would I have for a Knob lock? Chastity lock for the car. lol.
  25. Mine not good enough? My design suits the stock airbox or a pod, and comes with excellent customer service included free of charge.
