  1. I would run a stock exhaust for test, with 2 or 3 stock cats, just to make sure it passes first time. How do you expect to get a 4 inch system past the noise limits?
  2. With that kind of flow requirements you will need twin 3 inch 100cpsi cats at a minimum imo.
  3. The XR6t cats are single 3 in and twin 2.5 out, not something that would easily bolt into a Skyrine.
  4. 4 inch inlet, or body? If you want a 4 inch inlet you will need to cut back the inlet of a 3 inch I think.
  5. Not really, just keep them in a sealed sandwich bag or similar. I would replace the 'O'rings too if they have any sign of damage, and lube them up well before installing them, you don't want petrol leaking over a hot engine. I use a little silicone spray to lube the Orings..
  6. I got Supergas down to $125 for the 10.5m3, you need to speak with the sales manager, you can't haggle over the counter. Another gas wholesaler just offered me large bottles for $80 but I am yet to determine if I will be better off. The Supergas bottles have much higher pressure in them from my experience...
  7. I would be getting any S/H injectors flow tested before fitting them, injectors sometimes don't like being removed from a fuel system and left on a shelf for a few months. Were they stored in a sealed bag or similar at least? One slightly blocked injector can really ruin your day... I hope you got them cheap as new injector prices are dropping fast.
  8. They are good in external gate, just do it, for the price you can't go wrong.
  9. There are euro 4 cats about now, not as cheap, but you have a much better chance of passing with one of them fitted. You can get them through Super cat, the Magnaflow importer in Melbourne. They also sell the euro 3 metal cats.
  10. I would have overlaid the GTX rather than the GT range. It looks impressive, but at massive pressure ratios. I don't think a petrol application would get there... Your loss.
  11. Tial or Turbosmart. Buy from a reputable supplier but shop around, as prices vary massively. Make sure the wastegate comes with enough spring to run your desired boost.
  12. I fear you are a week too late C-Red. By the way, congrats on tuning an m35 EMU install.
  13. A workshop may charge upwards of 5k, perhaps more if they want to drop the engine, how much will the warranty cover? I would be your best bet, but it depends if the insurance company is willing to deal with me, they may require a fully qualified mechanic, insurance, factory premises etc. What are you hoping to get done in that time frame? I have a replacement S/H turbo here I could swap in for you, a Hypergear highflow may take 2 months this time of year... I may be able to get a Precision turbo down from Sydney, as I have one on the shelf waiting, but it may not get here till after Christmas...
  14. You did well finding it at the BCM end of the loom, it's a nightmare of wires down there. Great work.
  15. Yep, best spot to get power is the reverse lamp I would say. The shifter doesn't control any wiring, it comes from inside the gearbox sump. You will need to splice at the tcu in the passenger side kick panel.
  16. http://www.summitracing.com/dom/search/department/exhaust/part-type/catalytic-converters?SortBy=Default&SortOrder=Ascending So many cats... Even with shipping some are very reasonably priced. Why we pay so much over here is beyond me.
  17. The turbine housing is way too small, and the manifold studs will need to be swapped around... And the gearbox won't bolt up, and the starter is in the wrong spot... Then the cams won't work... and the real drama's begin.
  18. Change all the ecu's and all the looms. Don't like the sounds of that, too much work and headaches, and for what? The VQ25det is the better engine, unless you plan to drop 15k into the VQ35.
  19. You will need to get the engine code read, or follow the flashing MIL procedure. As Ben said, the starter motor won't be the cause, more likely one of the cam sensors.
  20. How much is a replacement stock ecu anyway? If you are planning a tune it's the least of your costs.
  21. Big allowances for varying ethanol percentage? It barely makes a difference to AFR's from my experience. You guys worried about e85 quality should be shitting your pants over seasonal petrol variations... ^^ This.
  22. Methanol is poison and will send you blind. But you shouldn't take that into consideration either.
  23. It could, it is only saying the battery voltage is fine and something else (starter) is at fault. If you plan to attack the throttles on your own, make sure you don't open the throttle plate when you clean them, and don't turn the key on until you have plugged them back in.
  24. Upgraded warranties aren't worth a cent imo. They just overcharge you for the job and make the same money in the end, as the warranty only covers a percentage of the job.
  25. Stock. Don't talk him into power mods just yet, I want to get it all running first before he throws a rod out the block like Jetwreck...
