  1. The cops just want a statement from you because you were the original owner and they can't take action against anyone without that statement. The old 'no victim' no crime is as true a phase as is cigarettes will give you cancer. It's really no big deal, nothing to be concerned about, just answer their questions, they'll be pretty standard. Just in case your insurance company (Just Car) hasn't been notified I'd tell them about it as Bankstown Police might not tell them as they might not know that you were insured with them unless you told them about it in the original stolen report. I'd find out from them where the car is exactly, it could be in 2 different spots, at the Police station or at a tow yard for DNA & Prints if they deemed it necessary (could have been involved in other crimes).
  2. Thanks guys. I ended up taking the gamble and hoped the sub and speakers wouldn't clip too "early" (whilst still not very loud); well it plays very loud and to my satisfaction so the gamble did pay off. The sub makes my hair tingle before it will clip so I'm ... happy.
  3. Will this amp: http://www.jbhifi.com.au/car-sound-gps-navigation/amplifiers/alpine/220-watt-x-power-digital-amp-sku-86635/ Power these two? http://www.jbhifi.com.au/car-sound-gps-navigation/sub-woofers/jl-audio/12-inch-300-watt-rms-sub-in-box-sku-52303/ and http://www.jbhifi.com.au/car-sound-gps-navigation/speakers/alpine/6-inch-speakers-sku-97680/
  4. For sale: Holden VE SS II Thunder Ute Price and price conditions: $32, 000 Condition: Excellent. FULL Log books serviced by Holden dealers only. Pictures: See below Contact Details: PM for mobile / [email protected] Location: Hills Area, NSW Delivery & Conditions of Delivery: Pickup only I am the second owner of the ute, it is completely stock with full logbooks. I bought it in February this year as I wanted a change from my Evo. Suffice to say that V8's simply just don't do it for me and I want to get back into a turbo. The car is pretty much still brand new and is still under new car warranty! Inspections welcome.
  5. There is no such requirement. However by stepping out of the vehicle prior to the officer coming to speak with you, you're always shooting yourself in the foot by doing so. If you do want to step out and discuss it, ask in a polite manner and if your offer is declined so what, you don't need to be out of your car to use your mouth. Thinking that you've been pulled over for "no reason" is the absolute wrong attitude to approach this. You're being pulled over for a reason, for example: Random Breath Test is a reason, Traffic violation... whatever. So when you see the blue and red behind you don't get all "wut da f*k did i do bro???" or again, you're just hurting yourself. the #1 thing to do of improving your chances of receiving an infringement is be HONEST and polite. Our Government is lazy and they're not interested in the big picture, the last person whom I thought made decisions because HE thought it was for the good of Australia was John Howard. The current PM and previous one are just vote grabbers and are only interested in the popularity game not what's best for the country.... they're just not in power long enough to make big decisions and if they did (Like get rid of speed cameras etc); they'll lose votes and lose their position. I don't disagree with Lidar guns but I do disagree with speed cameras and red light speed cameras. The "No Rego" sticker is rubbish too, that's also a money grab so that people will drive whilst out of rego ... they're setting up cameras to automatically read your number plate and catch you. Not only do they save money by not giving you a sticker anymore, they're doubling dipping by doing this too. Whilst you shouldn't be driving unregistered the mindset that goes behind this is immoral and disgusting. I steered off topic massively I just didn't stop typing... haha. PS: Yes, the M4 is crap and needs to be fixed. I patrol from the old toll gates all the way to East -> Parramatta road where it comes out at Strathfield/Burwood. There's ALWAYS accidents at the Homebush Bay Dr exit, just before the slip lane starts.
  6. For sale: (NSW) 2001 Mitsubishi EVO VII Price: $22, 500 Kilometres: 107, 000kms Contact Details: 0421 810 762 Location: Baulkham Hills 2153 I have owned the car for approximately 1 1/2 years. In the time I've owned it I've put on approximately 15, 000kms and changed the clutch and flywheel to an Exedy HD fitted by VSport. The car is in excellent condition, inspections welcome! The car makes 235awkw @ 21psi with a screamer, it's loud and fast. (Have dyno sheet) I love this car but it's time to move on, I'm after a Ute now to cart my dirt bikes around. The mods are as follows. Garret 3071r 770cc injectors 44mm Tial External gate PowerFC eBoost2 mounted stealth in the glove box Exedy HD Cluth + Exedy Lightweight Flywheel EVO 8 MR BOV Tein S Springs Standard EVO VII wheels powder coated black Full 3.5" HKS Exhaust w/ 4" SMB Dump pipe Gates Racing Timing Belt HKS Pod DBA slotted rotors at the front ( Less than 2, 000km old) Brembo Calipers painted yellow Alpine Stereo w/ Amp + 12" Sub (very loud!) 5% Tints all round - Extras: The previous owner gave me the standard exhaust and turbo, I never got around to using or selling it so I'm more than happy to pass these parts onto it's new respective owner. The car was tuned by Indy @ IS and it made 235awkw @ 21psi. The car is good for more power if you up the boost and retune. I have all the receipts for the work done, all of it was done by the previous owner who has given me a full book of receipts. This car is simply awesome. If I could afford to keep the car as a weekender I would but I like most of you can't afford to run two cars. Any further questions you can contact me on 0421 810 762. $22, 250 ONO SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY! Cheers, Tim.
  7. By stating things like that you're attempting to defraud an insurance company, be careful or you may eat those words. How many idiots do you think they get per HOUR telling them that they can't pay because they're out of work, or it'll make you bankrupt? This is business, no one cares what happens to you. -The truth. Just request to be put on a payment plan.
  8. Yeah. I did, I know he's appealing the suspension, not the MVC. I'm allowed to make comments on the internet, thanks.
  9. Btw, the rule is that whoever entered the roundabout FIRST has right of way. So even though you got hit on the LEFT and he has to give way to his right. If he had just entered the roundabout you're not allowed to enter. Sounds to me like you were hammering it and have failed to adhere to this rule. I dare say the other party had an independent witness, otherwise it's pretty inconclusive...
  10. These stiffen the car up, especially with stiffer/upgraded rear sway bar, which tends to reduce under steer thus promoting over steer. 90% of it sounds like your skill as a driver. Skylines are tail happy cars, poor tyres, wide tyres, and stiff suspension definitely won't help. But they're just tail happy by design. Tips: Corner as smooth as you can, don't jerk the steering wheel (I'm sure you're not JERKING it per say, but just try and be more smooth); and practice smooth throttle control. It'll still be a little difficult to control as stated above they're just a tail happy car. But in the wet you simply just have to have to drive like a grandma. Smooth throttle, smooth steering and you'll be fine. There also becomes a point where wide tyres don't help you in the wet, I'm not sure of the exact threshold... but yeah there becomes a point where it's actually detrimental for grip in the wet. edit: Or just buy an AWD car.
  11. Just go PowerFC mate. It's one of those one's that just "works". Most tuners are really familiar with them and if it's a street car then there's no point investing in a more expensive ECU. To put it this way, which will sound a bit weird. I was a reading reviews on mice lately (as in mouse, you use with your PC); and one of the reviews was the MX518 and it simply said "It just works". And that's exactly how I feel about the PowerFC. It just works, it's simple, most tuners use it and it'll 9/10 do exactly the job you want it to do.
  12. Do you still have the plates J E Z ? Because I tell you, I'm a Cop and I run every single custom plate I see. Mostly because they have trouble attached to their car, I'm more so referring to the person behind the wheel. I'm only posting this because of your story with the Police. Now I wasn't there so I don't know whether you embellished your story a little bit or what, but either way, right or wrong. If you don't want to draw attention to yourself, then don't have those plates on your car. I doubt the officer said "Oh this is a rice burner" but hey that's just me, and only you'll know the truth. But in the end you can hardly complain, they didn't defect you and you weren't issued any traffic infringements.
  13. Drug dealers don't think logically.
  14. What does that prove? If anything it provides an even better excuse for the guys car getting stolen as people come and look at your usually at your house. Whilst obviously I don't condone insurance fraud, there's a much easier ways to get rid of your car rather then just staging a big coo like that.
  15. How many people do you know own Harleys? They get hassled all the time, even MORE so than imports because Harleys are associated with OMCG (Outlaw Motorcycle Crime Gangs).
  16. Nothing beats Old Pacificy HWY for me. Some say Putty Rd, but coming from the southern end is extremely boring for 90% of it. I like twists.
  17. Junkies don't typically have firearms and a stun gun. This family was targeted, not necessarily because of the Skyline... but there would have been some reason. This was way too organised for 'junkies'.
  18. I've got a Gates Racing Belt on my EVO.
