  1. I'd like to understand his definition of new. New as in brand new or new as in new to your car and have previously been used. Its not very common to gear a turbo is dead if its brand new... If you suspect water in the intake, check inside the pipes just after the turbo outlet, you should see some green shit residue build up. You often see oil in there from the rocker covers, not alot but you see residue. If your turbos are letting water pass into the pistons then you should see something inside the intercooler piping closer to the turbo outlets(the shit in there is not smooth like the cooler pipes so shit gets into nooks and lines etc).
  2. Hey guys, Well after watching another guys video on engine noises, and from my original suspicion, the noise my car makes is a tensioner/bearing noise from the cam cover. Thus I need my belt, tensioners and bearings changed. Who here in Sydney can do it and how much do you want? Please PM me. I can get the kit or if you can provide it and give me a total cost on parts plus labour + days the car will be out of action will be greatly appreciated. Cheers guys. Edit: Yes I have searched but no one ever seems to put a price they paid on anything. Thats what I'm after, what people actually payed not what someone told them on the phone.
  3. If anyone has bought a timing belt kit and has not fitted it or decided not to fit it and keen on selling, PM me. Located in Sydney. Have cash waiting. Would prefer pickup but willing to go interstate. PM me. Cheers guys.
  4. f**k! Mine makes those exact same sounds!
  5. Took it for a drive, let it warm up properly. First gear all the way to 6500rpm, second gear to 6000rpm 3rd gear to 3000rpm, not a single miss. Using the same spark plugs, same boost, stock coils. I can go out now and test each coil, just by swapping one at a time with first and it will miss with the faulty one but there is no point. It is definitely the coils. Fit them in, they miss. Remove them, miss is gone.
  6. Going to be running much more boost with the new turbo so(18psi) this is generally the first step as the old ones are going to be pretty tired when it comes to the increased load. I have no idea but it kind of comes in bursts of misfiring, not just one splutter but like splut splut splut splut. It feels like this video. Ive pulled them all out now, they were a factory second unit which I bought from performance wise and paul is more than happy to take them back and replace with a new set and test out the old ones. Just to ensure it is the coil packs, Ill be going out now for a drive with the old ones back in to see if it still does it. I doubt it will because I never had a single misfire whilst driving on my old coils. I checked all spark plugs except cylinder 4(under the crossover pipe, I'm lazy lol). They all looked near perfect for spark plugs of their age. I have started a thread a while ago asking people to check out the condition of my plugs. Very clean and healthy looking. They looked the same across the board(apart from 4, couldn't get to it). I run a Greddy Profec B spec 2 boost controller. Haven't fiddled with the settings since its been fitted to the car. Happens any time. Happened last night coming back from work. Happened the other day driving to just jap(40 min drive so warm engine bay etc). Lets see what happens on the drive now. Maybe I did crack a spark plug when fitting it back in but I won't be able to cross anything out until I drive it now. 1:25 seconds sometimes it gets as bad as that and sometimes there is no break between the misses, it just keeps missing all the way.
  7. Brand new? Are the actuators adjusted properly? Don't they have built in oil restrictors? I don't own a gtr but often the problem with poor boost on new turbos is a leak. I think your wastegates aren't sealing... Just a guess. This would be a turbo off to diagnose and fix though... Unless you just add extra tension to the actuator rods incase, which will give more boost but boost control may be off. Again I'm not sure but thought I'd help.
  8. As above dude, I do honestly keep an eye put for people who get their cars stolen. I helped a mate find their berlina. I was driving down yagoona way and saw it on the grass lol. Knowing people won't bring the car back... You need some leads. Our car got stolen from our driveway. Who do you suspect? Just takes your car to be in the right place at the wrong time... Hope it's found dude. Just googled the car it's basically an suv kind of thing like the cx7? Looks like a new car so it's very likely it's been used for parts so I'd keep my eyes peeled for new cars showing up on the net. Advice? Call up pickles auctions and see if they have recently had one in their auctions(or any other company who auctions write offs). If it's going to be used to repair an auctioned off car, you can find alot on the Internet.
  9. Why replace bald tires with bald tires? Seriously, because you can is a shit response. Replace an aged and dead component with something aged and dieing... Cool.
  10. My old plugs are heat range 7 they were fine. My new plugs are identical to the old ones apart from the gap. 9psi. Its 100% related to coil/spark plug configuration. My old coils spark combination NEVER misfired. Only after installation of these coils did the car start misfiring.
  11. What is the point of upgrading them just to have problems? this is pretty bull. There are 3 pins ib g and a plus symbol. what I meant by the gaps is the current old spark plugs are smaller gapped. the new plugs are 1.1. Would the new plugs and the bigger gap eliminate this? only other choice is change coil by coil...
  12. That's quite a big turbo with a tiny rear end for a tiny motor. You'll get more investing in an RB25DET motor and a little more boost. Seriously, an RB25DET stock turbo 13 psi with a tune, pump, injectors and what not will see about 220rwkw.
  13. Why replace a 20 year old fuel pump with another 20 year old fuel pump?
  14. Stock ecu, 9psi boost exhaust fmic. Changed as I'm upgrading turbo ecu injectors etc. I'm using the same old plugs didn't change em. Pretty sure everything is tight. Could the shorter gap with these coils cause misfire? The only thing I changed is the coils and then the missing started.
  15. I changed to set yellow jackets and my car is miss firing badly under boost. No matter what gear it misses. The car was perfect with stock coils. Easy driving does not cause any miss only hard driving. I noticed too the plugs look gapped down. I've got a brand new set of bcp7res11 to go in. should that cure the problem?
  16. Regular full surface Exedy HD will hold that power fine. That was my old clutch for 240rwkw. Never slipped once. Very nice feel even when it gets hot.
  17. Thats either the symptom of A: the clutch it self or B: the pressure plate you've got. None the less, it could also be a fault/aging master/slave.
  18. For a little drive, the drive to just jap isn't bad once you're off the f**king hume highway. River road/banglor pass or what ever is alright but doesn't last long.
  19. Close to the big 200000km. May as well do the major service now. At least you won't have to do the next major service til 287000
  20. I don't know if this is related but I have just noticed it a couple days ago. Since fitting in the new clutch I literally did not rev the car past 3 - 4krpm for the last 200km of driving. Today I went to give it a little in first gear(after about 40 mins of driving) and the car revved fine to about 2500 then it like, I don't know how to explain it but it felt like the car choked for a half second then drove fine to red line through to second. Its like when you cough something up. Its smooth coughing then the shit comes out and there is a slight turbulence. I don't know if its because I haven't driven the car hard or something related to the coils. Driving at 60km/h and putting it down into second is fine. It only does it on first gear. I don't know if it will do it again in the same drive but I don't push it again if it does that. I thought it may have been the oil but I doub't it, sougi s6000. It didn't really start this until I drove the car like a bitch and installed the coil packs. I'm gonna start gaining weight on my foot again to see if it keeps happening. My old car used to do it only when cold.
  21. Exedy clutch sold. NKK clutch will take what ever for it + pressure plate!
  22. What's after market in the car to be running a piggy back? take the ecu it and run it on the stock ecu. The noise could be anything. Judging by location if say injectors but stock injectors won't be that noticeable. That video is poor. Get under the bonnet with a piece of hose in your ear and look for the found. You will hear it loudest through the hose when you found the source.
  23. Kudos motor sports. Somewhere near 450 for a complete kit. No idea how much installation is but let me know as I might be needing mine changed and this is something I can't do my self
  24. There are too many things which can trigger the warning light. Get a nissan consult cable and read the errors from the computer. The check engine light is not designed to tell you whats wrong(you can use it for diagnosis but that's a different story), its designed to tell you SOMETHING is wrong. You can't do anything without a consult cable. http://cgi.ebay.com....=item231027be4a for example. Pretty sure all consult ports are the same... ^ Is that true for the R33 series 2? One of my coils just died and no check engine and I was clearly running on 5 cylinders.
