  1. Anyone have ANY idea what this cricket like sound is? The first sound in the first video goes away when the back of the cam gear cover has pressure above the venting grooves so Ive gotta take that off and see whats what. But this sound at the bottom of the car is really annoying. It cant be heard while driving, only at idle. Any tap of the accelerator and the sound goes away.
  2. Its a really hard sound. There are two new sounds. One sounds like thick steel wire just being dragged around. Sound does not change with revs. The other is only at bare idle, any touch of the throttle it goes away. This is the new sound. You can hear it as the higher pitch jig jig jig sound. I know what that problem is, its coming from the rear of the cam gears. If I apply medium pressure to the back of the plate(above the venting gaps), the sound goes away. Its apparently not too uncommon with skylines. I'll get the problem clarified with Advan. Well now Ive got everything I need its just a matter of installing everything. First off is the clutch, then the turbo, then injectors and ECU.
  3. I got all my parts today for the clutch and its ready to go on but until I fix some of these other f**king noises from my engine bay, I'm not going to add any parts yet... I payed $400 for a complete Carbotic 5 puk clutch kit(all the little shit as standard).
  4. Its just one thing after another for me Installed my fuel pump into the car. All was well and fine. Filled up a tank a while ago all was fine. Filled up a tank today, payed for it then walking back to the car I noticed it leaking. Rolled the car back and removed the lid and noticed the lid was drenched in fuel(the lid on the fuel tank where you change the pump). I suspect I have either A damaged the gasket or B not tightened it enough. Well with a full tank in there, I cant really do anything until I run it dry as I did fill it literally to the top(two clicks of the pump cutting off lol). Luckily its not leaking anymore though. Where do I get a replacement gasket? I can try tighten the lid tomorrow but I risk further damaging the gasket if its kinked up in there. I can get the old one from my other car but as with everything which made contact with fuel, its probably dry as shit now.
  5. Its probable that the fluid will leak out the rear of the box so yeah you may as well do it while you're there and have everything going back on the car. Yay I pickup my clutch today!
  6. Rather than obviously starting a new thread here is my plan. I plan to be running about 17 - 20 psi with a flow rate of about 500hp(imagine a 3076r). Would the turbo blow out the spark from the standard coil packs? I plan to buy all the gear I need when I fit the turbo in so I don't want to install it then have something break then have to buy something else. Someone tell me what I should get. I'm looking at yellow jacket coils, Ive heard good things and they are cheap compared to others out there. Now the plug. People say run a smaller gap when at higher boost but if you run bigger coils run the bigger gap. I'm planning ahead for all this and need my gear ready. Should I go out and buy my self a set of 1.1mm? Anyone suggest which spark plugs I should get? I'm not too keen on changing plugs every 5000km. I'm estimating about 280 - 300rwkw.
  7. No smoke at all. None of my ECU's on this car caused excessive smoke. Its retarded. I dont know why it does it but all I know is when I add my power FC in, the problem goes away. Guess ill just wait til we get the car tuned with the PFC and mods and hope its gone. I really do think it has something to do with the CAS though, I did fiddle with it a while back and not sure if I put it on right lol. Now I got another f**king weird noise coming from the car. It kind of sounds like a metal ting, does it when the car is idling can be heard from underneath the car so I gotta sus that out tomorrow. Sounds like someting loose or touching something it shouldnt.

  10. Hey all, Have an R33 GTST LSD. Great condition when running on car, never had issues with it. No whining or other shitty noises. $200 ono R33 GTST ABS pump. Works perfectly. $100 ono Brake Master cylinder $90, perfect working condition. Also have brake booster. Parts are located in Sydney near Parramatta. Can post but that diff is about 40kg. PM me.

  12. Its misfiring. The spark isn't hitting the spark plug. Put some tape around your coil packs. There is a guide about it here. How old is the car(KM wise) if you know its legit? High K"ms they could have cracked from the heat and now they are on their last legs.
  13. There wouldn't be any power in the car and all fuel relays will be off lol.
  14. There's a start up procedure for stock ECU? All I found is ways to reset it and mines reset. They just say plug the power in and turn the car on.
  15. Hey all, I had a power FC in my car and my car would start about after a second, 1 - 2 turns of the crank. Now I took out the power FC the car needs about 8 - 10 turns, when warm, to start and now it idles really rough, almost feels like a lumpy cam with revs constantly dipping. I thought maybe dirty AAC but if a power FC can hold a stable idle with dirty AAC then the standard ECU should do it alot better. I suspect something to do with my cas or timing could be off. Anyone have any idea? Holding the throttle open while starting does no difference either. Car is a series 2 r33 gtst.
  16. 98 should not contain ethanol. Skylines are designed for the 98 fuel. The sticker on the lid says premium fuel only. 95 is premium so to speak but 98 is premiumer lol. Switch fuels I think you may have found your problem...

  18. How does heat trigger the knock sensor? It's on the other side of the block, it's not affected by heat and has nothing to do with the cooler. Unless the heat is causing the engine to ping which would be strange because you said your tuner said it want pinging. put the stock ecu in before to cause any damage. I had a pfc which had a tune for stock car and little more boost, sure the highest ping was 38 but it ran like arse. Put my stock in there yesterday and yanked out the z32 afm and it runs alot better, alot more power. If the tune is not on your car it's not for your car.
  19. That won't help lol. To will never be able to isolate it if it sparks. shorts are always a risk but unlikely. Things only spark on initial powered contact. Once it's screwed in tightly it won't budge. 2 years running a 040
  20. I think it's normal. mine is louder at times then others and sometimes some vibrations against the petrol tank are heard. 040 though

  23. Check the seat in the rail. Someone could have tried to get the injector out with a metal tool or something may have lined the inside. It should be smooth with not even a hair line scratch. The rubber will seal in a perfect O. If there is a slit, crack, scratch it could seep out from that end. Wait is it top feed? I'm thinking of side fed here. It could be the same though, the rail sounds damaged to me. Check it for physical damage.
  24. I want to spray my cooler black to make it less visible. I am someone who hates shiny. But I think doing so will not be too good. My theory is that black absorbs sun. More than often I am driving in the sun. Wouldn't the lower part of the cooler and piping be affected by this heat? I know aluminium does corrode but there are paints out there designed for aluminium and protecting it. I know a guy who builds aluminium gates, he will probably powder coat it free. I'm just worried about clogging up fins..
  25. Ive got the ATR43SS turbo off Stao. He was making 320rwkw on standard internals but with 800cc injectors being the different factor. I'm looking at roughly 280 - 300rwkw on standard fuel.
