  1. More power and paying less at the petrol pump? This is something I want in. Anyone give insight as to if my mods will support. Fuel system consist of a Bosch 040 and Nismo 740cc injectors. ECU is a power FC. All my gear is going in it soon and one of the benefits, apart from power and cost, is EGT with E85 and other blends should be lower and it detonates less, so Ive heard. Would my fuel setup be sufficient? Its in an R33 GTST. Also does anyone have a list of places with E85 in Sydney? I know theres a place up on victoria road but damn, driving 30 mins each way to fill up fuel... I'd be willing to invest in a kit to load maps onto my ECU as I need them. One for E85 and one for regular unleaded fuel. Does anyone here do this? Are there any ECU's which can support both fuels or have two maps pre loaded? If I was to say run my PFC and have a tune on my PC for the other type of fuel, would there be bad results when switching between fuel types, because of the remains in the fuel system and bit in the tank? Also just noticed the above link lol. Started reading a few pages back then dumped a post.
  2. Hey mate, This is gonna seem really random and have nothing to do with anything really but I noticed you took off the oil cooler on the block. Can you tell me if you can screw the oil filter straight onto the block or does it not go? Cheers.
  3. Ive got it but I cant send it for $30... Its pretty bulky to fit in a box, I'd be practically giving it away... $60 shipped to melbourne. They are in mint condition and they have both been re-gooed so they wont leak anymore like others do. Driver side yes, passenger side no. $15 pickup.
  4. I am almost certain that when you mount the box back up, before you put the shifter into the box, you can actually put a funnel in there and fill it up from there. You just need to make sure the top feed bolt is out of the box so you can get the overflow to come out. Its pretty common to do this on alot of rear wheel drive cars. And yes, I should have remembered, oil will come running out of the back of the box when you pull the shaft out and it makes a f**king mess when you don't expect it lol. There is not much to remember really, the reason it cost alot is not because there is alot to do, its just a tedious, pain in the ass kind of job. Complex level is much lower than the frustration level. You really are going to need an air wrench to get that flywheel off. I just tried to get my old one off..... About half a meter breaker bar and I'm grinding knuckles and they wouldn't come loose.
  5. Tail shaft comes off, starter motor comes off, loosen all the electronic senders, undo bellhousing bolts, slide her back a little and drop her down. You're gonna need new seals. There is a lower one, and some rear one. Theres a few more and a complete kit cost into the hundred or two region. I don't know much about the seals so I cant say. Might as well change the fluid. If the clutch is different to your old one you probably need it at least shimmed to get the old material off so your new clutch can lay its new material on. Air wrench is good here, or a telegraph pole as a breaker bar. I think these are tighted to about 150 torque and loctite. You're gonna need loctite when putting them back on too. I still havent got my clutch or heard from the guy who is making it. I hope it comes soon because I really need to get my shit onto the car.
  6. Ive pulled out a box and put it back on the car while it was no no wheels and lifted at an angle. Worst experience of my life but would have been a piece of piss with someone elses help.
  7. Hmm when I got the car the AC belt was disconnected but I never payed attention to it so ill check it out. No idea if the belts been changed either. Damnit this is gonna cost me by the sound of it. Money that I don't have.
  8. I always keep it so that green light is on. When ever its off, the car is noticeably wamer inside(bringing air from outside that is). Looks like spray then wrap!
  9. Can you use this stuff on unbroken bolts? I might change 4 bolts which hold the turbo when I fit the new one onto the car. If I spray it with this shit and it shrinks the bolt, I imagine that with wd40 and two nuts it would be a piece of piss to take it. By the sounds of it, I could take it out by hand lol. Does it cause any stress on the bolts and make them more prone to snapping though?
  10. Hey all, I recorded a video of the sound which my engine has been making well, since I noticed it which has been forever. I have no idea what it is but I am almost 100% sure its from the timing belt cover area. It disappears on revs then comes back. There is also another sound at the beginning of the sound which is like a ticking kind of sound. Also when you are listening to the main sound in the video, you will here yet another kind of strange sound, a higher pitch sound. Anyone able to shed some light? The sound will increase with revs but go at about 1400 - 1600rpm. Cheers guys.
  11. Hey man, They were genuine parts and they fit pretty well but unfortunately they too are sold So is the wheel. Ill give a run down of whats left: Rear tail lights really good condition Bootlid in alright condition has holes for genuine GTR bonnet Driver side door bar the window control thing a JVC headunit Most parts under the car and suspension related bar the shocks and springs lol Some interior Passenger side air bag The engine, but I may be keeping this. ABS pump Fuel tank Other little things
  12. I Dont know what it's made of but it's. 1 pecs bellmouth and most of it is rusted to the shit. That thig looks alright but there are alot of wires on the firewall panel so I don't k ow how well it will stick. I you have an r33 can you get pix?
  13. I don't drift. I don't do burn outs. I don't do track days. Just once in a while the quick hit boost. People say I drive the car too slow I just appreciate the car and the power is there when I need it. Only thing is I'm getting abit of heat in the cabin/driver footwell. One shop quoted me $100 for 10m of heat wrap. Would this shit melt if its passes its limit or what happens?
  14. Gone Gone Gone Maybe, I sold the coolant bottle but the screw might be in the car. Can check tomorrow.
  15. Big old bump. Parts are still here. Grab whats left, I don't know what is but go through the thread or ask me! Car needs to be gone by the end of next week.
  16. Anyone know approximately how hot a dump pipe would get? I want to heat wrap my dump pipe. We've got some shit suitable for about 1000f(500ish degrees). Would this be sufficient? 280rwkw and should have a safeish tune on it. Cheers
  17. My old skyline done something similar and if I revved it, smoke would come out because the belt was loose and scrubbed against the pulley because it wasn't spinning with the engine. Press on the belts and they should all have roughly the same tension. If one is looser than the other, tighten it as necessary. Get a piece of hose and carefully put it near the belts to pin point the sound. If it sounded like the belt is slipping then obviously a belt is very loose. When the belts are cold they are alot stiffer and are more prone to slippage.
  18. We sell gw oil for 17 at woolies
  19. Do you happen to have a sandwich plate.
  20. Can I connect my oil temp sensor to the sandwich plate? Do you have any pix of the plate? Good explanation above too! Cheers.
  21. Parramatta but can travel. $700 is too much. Ive read people getting it done for $400 up in qld. Any mechanic who has changed a clutch can do it, its the same as any other car.
  22. Hey all, Does anyone here install cluches or know of places to install my clutch? My clutch should be ready by wednesday/thursday and it will have the flywheel with it too which is machined. I think it comes with the throw out bearing or what ever its called, I'm not too sure yet. Only thing I don't have is the seals as I don't know which ones(if any) I need to replace. If I could get my car high enough I would do it my self but I don't think that is likely. If anyone here in Sydney does clutch installations or knows of any places who don't charge my wallet, that would be great. Lube mobile quoted me $620 to do an on site clutch change. I assume this would be the highest cost so everything else should be less! Cheers guys. Oh and car is an R33 GTST.
  23. Are you able to get a filter relocator with this too? And I don't understand this whole business with the thermostat. Pretty keen on this, otherwise ill just be getting a cheap ebay kit.
  24. Change the washers and make up a new gasket for your oil drain flange. Wouldn't hurt to use some teflon plumbing tape around your bolts to ensure oil isn't seeping through... People say you don't need it, but just as a precaution.
  25. Told me it was using spacers and that theyre 7.5" front. Abit too small for me otherwise they would have been mine
