  1. Your local mechanic simply wouldn't know, hence they don't check. only check for leaks, obvious damage etc.
  2. I think its on Sat night
  3. Because VicDrift are doing a demo.
  4. Thread title should be: TE37s the most over used Jap wheel in history?
  5. Problem is if it isn't factory - then valved exhausts are illegal as well. At least down here - so one can expect it to be in NSW, and the video is evidence of this It's really stupid that many models of cars these days have them FACTORY and can be controlled MANUALLY. Yet to do the same, to pass the same laws, if you or I did it to our cars... It's suddenly illegal. It really just needs someone with the staying power (and money) to follow it through the courts and win. Set a precedent and then everyone else launches back at them. It really doesn't make sense a Ferrari can pass ADR with a valve, yet a Skyline cannot. The core EPA laws are from 1992, so very dated. Also farked that Police can report you to the EPA without even MEASURING your car. They just have to report you based upon suspicion you 'might' be over, rather than actual fact. People down here have been reported when their car has been PARKED and not even running (as the notice tell you the time it was noted). Really feel sorry for your NSW boys overall... The EPA are a bunch of over powered kents.
  6. Ian - If they cannot test it @ the required RPM then it simply does not pass the test. - 30 days after your EPA notice is served, your rego is suspended. - 3 months after notice, you rego is cancelled. Totally agree with what you are saying though. If people were smart - install a kill switch. Car dies going half way there due to 'electrical' gremlims, call a mate and get a tow home. Would be cheaper than the $600 in EPA fines. However in that event they would almost certainly serve you a notice to present it for inspection once fixed. At least then, you have the time to get it correct it before you take a wad of fines up the clacker
  7. Just up the street from me... That car is utterly farked!
  8. Agree. They are fken terrible
  9. Not taking/accepting any nominations this year... Need to step right back and focus on bigger SAU things like Nationals, Forum Battle etc. I second all your other nominations Hamish. A great leadership group.
  10. Renewals no problem - Dyno Day will be the "yearly" renewal anyway coupled in! Interested to see what you have in store man
  11. Given it's going the way of Victoria... 90dB @ 5100rpm for a RB26. Managed to get a 3.5" exhaust down to 91dB here with a lot of stuffing around. But ye a stock GTR with front pipe & stock cat back - fails... It's very shit. And wait till the EPA start measuring "back off" noise. You might pull 89dB @ 5100rpm - and the back off and the RB26 standard "burble" as idle settles will set the meter off to 91dB. Had that happen as well. Realistically I cannot see how you'd get a 4" exhaust legal. A 3.5" is border line and requires a baffle plate. HOWEVER as they are so quiet, you kinda don't get the attention initially that sets the whole process in motion. I'm looking at a bulk buy for 4" exhausts, not sure if it's viable or not yet.
  12. You could quite easily just cut the legs to modify the height. Or even add height pretty easily. If you built "feet" for it due to needing height, it would also provide support/stability.
  13. Video cannot be posted public unfortunately. But ye will take a camera with me to get pics of everything else.
  14. Ye I'm doing 2 days running up Mt Baw Baw on closed roads with the Tarmac Rally peoples... Going to be farken ACE!!!
  15. If there isn't a charge then that's not too bad. Suppose they will get you good on the rotors/pads in the end anyway if you go OEM
  16. You got the shakes old man?
  17. It's no different to any two motors won't be the same. There are always slight differences if you pulled them down, no two will be identical. The mods, age of the motor, condition of the turbo, ambient air temp, condition of air filter & FMIC. AFM performance etc etc etc. There are soooooo many factors that could trigger protection mode on what is realitically, quite a sensitive ECU. A simple reading of the replies of people with similar issues this far in this very thread should be enough to prove this
  18. Yeah i was gonna say, $1800 is cheaper than any price I've ever seen (except for the LINK clear out sale last year). $2000 ex-japan, but the lead/wait time is upto 2 months. So local for $2200 - still a good price
  19. ^ you will have your name changed when I see fit to change it back. Might teach you a lesson for abusing the report post button in the wasteland perhaps
  20. Yes i know all that MPH is lower if the 60ft is better. Thats the basic summary of the long winded link Avg 60ft is 1.9-2.3 for a typical street car. Such a variance will see 1-3mph diff having raced over 100 passes in my GTS-R years ago. Got it pretty consistent in the end and the 1.9 60fts were always 2mph down over my 2.2 60ft runs. Still even if you add 3-4mph to 121 - 125mph for 400rwkw is ... A no. Car would have to be 2.5 tonne or there abouts.
  21. Other thing to consider - depending on it's importance or not - is the attitude of the dealership. Friend with a AMG C63 goes into Merc before a track day etc. They top up oils, give the car a once over etc all without issue (or charge). Same for another with an Audi RS5. You won't catch Nissan doing these types of free 'value adds'. Suppose it depends if you are keeping it stock-ish or not, and if you are going to do the work yourself, as to whether the above has any relevance.
  22. MPH NEVER lies!
  23. Fxing off tomorrow morning@!
  24. 400rwkw and only 120mph?
