  1. I run tyres backwards on the rim often in the race car, in the dry, there is no noticeable loss of performance However I think you are mad to do the same on a street tyre. There are 2 key things that are different - as Mark said the wet performance suffers because the tyre is not designed to pump water in the direction you are running it. Also it is possible the internal construction may have a problem running backwards eg steel belts loosening. If it was safe to run these tyres backwards the manufacturer would say so - they only use assymetric or directional design when they have to to meet a certain performance goal. On a related topic....what is your wheel alignment (camber and toe, front and rear)? If it is out you are better to address the problem than throw new tyres at it.
  2. no idea...except to say its the biggest crowd I've seen there which is great
  3. indeed....you have 1cm more oil which is about half a litre. think of it as "insurance" not "waste"
  4. good question! internals are readily vailable cheap incl vi ebay these days. And most shops offer a balancing only service. a diy thread would be great
  5. agreed - genuine comptetion week on week would be great, but the nature of f1 and other "open" racing is that one team will make a large leap and it will take others a while to catch. anyway, the next best thong to close competition is someone other than ferrari winning
  6. yes, or the output pin from the relay to the pump. but remember to try it within 3-5 sec of turning the ignition on
  7. ipad = less portable iphone that can't make calls?
  8. to enter, about $800. to compete? somewhere north of 200k
  9. how do you use the car, and what is wrong with the current ones?
  10. mine's been unplugged for years, and I've never had motor problems
  11. ahh that is a damn shame. guess bsm are going 2wd space frame instead of 4wd floorpan
  12. I'd just like a beer
  13. please dont cut em up chuckie....if you don't want them or want something different I'll get a pair of the UAS ones to swap for yours....we can only run the factory ones in production car racing and I've never seen another set
  14. fib under forum rules you cannot name a business (or it's staff in this case) in a negative thread. You do have the option of doing so privately but not in a public thread. Your post has been edited.
  15. yeah good point about earthing throught the globe...I am at best "self taught" with auto electrics and thought that any wire with continuity to earth must be an earth, I didn't realise things like globes and probably others will show some earth continuity when the circuit is off.
  16. I've run both collars and welded cranks in the race car with no issue
  17. ahh don't put a bigger fuse in there...it may not blow which means the wiring will melt instead. you need to find out what circuit it is and trace it through. or drop it to a auto electrician
  18. umm pics aren't great. but I can't see how they would fit skyline/stagea 32/33/34 series
  19. well....you are checking voltage with the motor running right? 12vish is right for battery alone, alternator should show 13.5+ the wire you ran from the battery to the relay has 13.x at the relay end when the motor is running? pins on the relay should be: 30 - wire to the battery (fuse near the battery) 85 - earth 86 - original fuel pump positive (signal) 87 - output to the fuel pump. you should get the same voltage at pin 87 as the battery when the ignition is on.
  20. that greddy infometer proves rice can be good. wish it had av out
  21. yeah that figures. you can't run z32 or nismo AFMs without changing the computer for about $2k extra. all you need is a pair of second hand air flow meters, or even better swap with some known good ones to make sure they are actually the problem before you spend any more. I think you need to go elsewhere, there are plenty of "reputable" workshops around.
  22. its not a %, but it's not actually measuring torque either. best to think of it as an indication of how much torque it would be trying to send to the front in an umodified factory setup.
  23. charles....definately gtr front....more rubber is always handy up front and it gives you the option of running same size tyres all round. stu...what is a "rocker"??
  24. sucks to be anna. wonder what wayne is up to tonight?
