  2. Really? shit... anyone wanna buy a microtech? hahaha i might put it on a KE30 rolla im building with a 13b
  3. This is true lol, but ive got a sick obsession with Microtechs, i think its because there an aussie company hahaha and i like going against the norm, all my tuner mates call me crazy and compare microtechs too ancient tech but yeahh...i try too keep everything i buy from aussies, but theres just some things i cant get here =(
  4. Seems like this would be a good product if your ECU doesnt have data logging, like my f**king awesome Microtech hahaha http://www.aemelectr...lsafe-gauge-84/ Also a WMI data logger kit http://www.aemelectronics.com/gauges-26/water-methanol-failsafe-device-56/
  5. Whos going too tune it?? in the end the engine will only perform as well as the tune...
  6. So i was just reading an import mag and spotted the davies craig EWP in one of the adds, got me thinking about the pros and cons of it, ive had experience with EWP's before but not too cool an engine, I used too build water too air intercoolers for patrols and cruisers, so they had a small rad with a small EWP that would only draw around 2amps, so heres my pros and cons lol Engine EWP Pro: Can control water flow Can run on when the engines off too limit heat soaking More control over engine temps...to a point =/ Possibly a 5-10kw gain Cons: Being electric it can stop Extra wiring Extra Alt load More things too leak The power gain isnt why i want it, it was more for the control of temps.. Also as a fail safe, even leaving the Engine water pump connected for that just incase, but then i dont know if it would become a restriction if you want too flow more then the engine pump can flow... hummmm I think the idea behind it is good, but real life results compared too "More Power More Torque" is another... Also a vid that explains it for anyone who doesnt know about them
  7. If it was just a street car id get one of the Thailand made turbos from kando or hypergear but im not going too risk it, 1600 for a billet wheel hypergear or 1750 for a garret, what would you go? lol
  8. you know you can buy brand new GTX 30/76's for 1700...
  9. i might get both and test them, would be good too see, dont think theres any back too back dyno graphs with the same car on here is there?
  10. I was considering just going a GT30/76, but im going to be running E85 and possibly WMI aswell so fingers crossed i wont have too run much over 18psi and i defently wont be running over 20psi lol, ile also be buying the 6boost twin scroll manifold, .82 twin scroll exhaust housing on the GTX 30/76 and a plazman manifold, 1000cc DI injectors twin 300lph fuel pumps and eventually when the S2 RB25 pops ile just buy a neo and build it, i figure ile regret buying just a GT series later down the track when i want more power.
  11. UPDATE: Not going with the HyperGear Turbo anymore, going with a GTX30/76 .82, for 200$ more a trusted brand name is a better option lol
  12. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Garrett-GTX3076R-GTX30R-Billet-Turbo-T3-4-Bolt-82-A-R-/290611875949?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43a9d1506d#ht_4577wt_1163 wow, awesome price! perfect size =) well i was considering using the bottom runners, like using a plazman manifold, but there like 1k, seems over priced considering its half a manifold lol, ile end up having too bite the bullet and do it, i do have a 5k budget too play with on the engine alone, so its no drama, just means more late nights for me haha
  13. Thanks for the info mate, but ive decided im going too build my own, i need the experience because theres also a KE30 rolla in the works as a drag car, so id have too build a cage for that too.
  14. sorry for the late reply, was playing footy, f**k id be lost without you guys haha, thanks for all your input!!!! My engines a S2 RB25 with around 80k on the clock, had a RB20 that put no' 4 and 5 through the block, holy f**k it went bang! lol also VCT isnt currently connected, because im awesome at forgetting things when i built the wiring loom i forgot the vct and wiper motor hahaha, but ile have that sorted, i played with it on the dyno and gained 40hp in the mid from just connecting it, mind you it went too about 14:1 =O, my plans were a G3 Turbo from HyperGear, but i spoke too someone who knows more about turbos then most tuners in australia lol, going with the GTX30/76 and im not going to go the FFP, just hate the look of the stock manifold
  15. So ive been reading abit about the 26 heads compared too the 25 heads and ive been weighing up the costs, im kinda leaning going for the 26 head for a few reasons but cost wise i still dont know, heres my logic lol RB25 head CONS: Forward facing plenum - 1k-1.2k (yes ile loose low down torque ) 1000c DI injectors, 680$ Fuel rail 100$ has hydro lifters, though my limiter will be set too 7k because it will live on it, so this wont be an issue. so the cost will be around the 2g mark Turbo 1200$ PROS: dont have too swap a head RB26 head found a few for around 1500 and complete r33 rb26s for 3g from the wreckers, so i could just swap sumps and run a complete 26, or many i cant i dont know much about 26's. An RB26 with the stock TT would probly be a nice combo for drifting, i could sell my RB25 and get some many back that way too... PROS: already has a FFP Head flows better Solid lifters Twin Turbo Fully sick RB26 tappet covers! CONS: Gaskets 200-400$ ARP head studs 100$ Still have too buy 1000cc DI injectors (running E85) So im still going too have too spend more on the RB26 head in the end My question is, Is this worth it or am i just wasting my time and money for a few perks.
  16. Yea i might just build it myself and just get someone too tig it for me haha
  17. I was also reading on a driftworks forum about the cradles, but a few people said its only the s14 and s15 cradles that will allow better lock and haha yeah i know it seems alot but that seems too be the cheapest options with the most amount of mods if i could id spend 20+ but thats not really an option at the moment, also if anyone knows anyone who can make roll cages in queensland at a decent price, i was quoted 3,500, seems abit pricey, might just buy a tig and do it myself, just dont have a bender lol
  18. wow what an insane read from 1 to 41 tonight, awesome build man, im also in the process of building my 32, will hopefully be going too the same depth of mods as you on mine, might see you on the track!!
  19. Yes, i didnt mean the battery will stop the current draw, but with the correct battery the load would be reduced on the alt, unless the thermos constantly on. ...were did i say "put a clutch fan on a wrx" All im saying is MOST cars come with thermos with no cooling issues and yes ive driven a falcon and worked on 100s, whats that got to do with anything?
  20. When they wear out they stop working i.e you can hold the fan while revving the engine when hot, the viscosity in the gel changes and with the correct type of battery the thermo wont put strain on the alt.
  21. So all the WRX's and many other cars that come from the factory with a thermo fan are going too cook there engines? lol...
  22. So ive decided too take my R32 off road and turn it into a Drifter ile start by listing the current mods then mods im going too add, if you have any advice on parts please comment Current Mods: Engine: RB25 S2 Yellow Jacket Coil Packs FMIC Microtech LT12s HKS Electronic boost controller 3" Exhaust Stock Turbo Suspension and Steering: Tein Super Street Suspension Driveline: R32 Gearbox Nismo 2-Way Locker Interior: Stock Future Mods: Engine: HyperGear G3 deatschwerks 1000cc Injectors deatschwerks 300LT/H Fuel Pump E85 Power steering cooler kit Engine Oil Cooler Kit Suspension and Steering: Driftworks Geomaster - Offset Rack Spacers Steering angle spacers Stainless steering bush Driftworks Front & Rear Adjustable Lower Arms } Driftworks Camber Arms } Driftworks Toe rods } Might use gktech products instead Driftworks Traction Rods } Driftworks Tension Rods } Tein Tie Rods & Tie Rod Ends 25mm hub centric spacers Driveline: Expect the r32 box too break so ile put a 33 one in when it does Diff should survive along time Interior: Remove whole interior apart from dash Racing Seats Harness Rollcage Hydraulic handbrake Mixed gauges Exterior: Paintjob Bodykit Rims So im looking around 10-15k on a guess for all this, if theres things i dont need or extra things i need, please let me know, this build will be starting very soon! stay tuned.
