Doesn't really matter, it is all on the COTF platform with all of the control parts. The engines and aero come under parity rules as I understand anyway, so you won't see a runaway model in the series. I suppose we will see a change to the ford ecoboost v6 too.

Thanks mate! No specific plans to be honest. Just a few things I'd like to do. So, after the trackday I went over everything again. Found my gearbox was making a nasty input bearing noise, so took it down to award. After a chat to Terry, he said it was nothing to worry about, and that the noise would probably drive out in a few hundred kms on the road. I suspect the ATF I was using in the box was too thin and not providing enough protection in high G areas, so I refilled it with Redline Shockproof light. Again, I can't complement the gearbox enough. People say they are weak, but this has had so many track days now, and looking back on the vids, a couple of times where it should have gone pop but hasn't! Driving style has a lot to do with it I think. I've installed a power steering cooler, as I think the PS was getting pretty hot. I grabbed a small PWR auto tranny core from repco and plumbed it in, and ran a duct to it. Pics will be below. Pretty easy to setup, and not very expensive. It's just mounting it and finding the space! I've got to get the dump pipe off, and it's got a couple of small cracks on one of the supports, they need a bit of weld. I want to investigate water cooling for the wastegate. It has a tial 44mm on it, with the ports to water cool it. I want to do this mainly for reliability. But I'm not quite sure where to get and return the feeds to. I also want to make up some deflectors for the front brakes, as they were getting pretty damm hot and glazed the pads. I never lost brakes, but it is clear that they can work better then what they were. Finally, I might have my hands on some more slicks to try out after the Sydney 500. Should be a set of Yokos I can get my hands on. The Michelins have been epic, and are the Rolls Royce of slicks, but they are getting pretty worn now (have a look at the front right!).

Right wheel arch is exactly where the power steering pump is.... Just sayin

They might be fine, and just need a bit of tension too, before replacing them.
-
Yeah, that's fine. Don't bother with the la di da Kevlar version.

I've only fitted the Fronts R32 GTR on. I used a shim to fill the space from 14-12mm. They are quite a good upgrade, and I don't find any bias issues from the upgrade. My rears are stock. As you've said, the rears aren't bolt on. Brembos however are bolt on all round, with the obvious trim of stone guards.

I would say old/loose ancillary belts. They aren't expensive to replace, $70 for both from memory, and about 30 mins of your time.

The only blue ones I know are Endless. -
I just hope renault spend their 63.5 credits or whatever it is (whatever a fking "credit" is) fixing their donkey of a motor for next season. Otherwise it'll be business as usual for Merc. This motor situation really is BS. I just wish they ditched the electric shit, chucked a couple of turbos on em, and gave them 100kg for the race.

Add me in pls. Just got the day off! Dunno what car I'll be in, might be down the back in the micra if I can't sort out the 180!! -
Sorry, I don't think you understand the ECU. On idle and cruise the ecu is looking at the AFR, and adjusting the amount of fuel injected to keep the engine operating at 14.7:1. You can see this if you have a OBD reader by looking at the A/F correction function. When you put your foot down, or the engine receives load, it stops correcting pegging the correction value at "100", and fuel is purely dictated due to the figures in the tables written in the ecu. There are aftermarket ECUs that can be setup to fuel trim through the rev range to targeted figures, and on individual cylinders, but the stock ECU doesn't do that. If I had a working lappy, I'd take a log and show you.

Hiya Mick, yeah, I know that line through turn 2, but I'm yet to find a good way through that corner. I think I really have to exit it away from the late 2nd apex, because it causes me issues with the camber in the road. Just deal with the fact that I won't have the best line into 3, and short shit. Thanks PJ!! Yeah, it does sound pretty angry when its on song, its also usually the loudest most obnoxious thing out there! Good for spectators cause they always know where you are! So here is a little moment from when I locked the rears, and it came around on me. I should have the remainder of the Sessions uploaded in the near future.

Ok, update time! Took the 180 out to a ARDC trackday at SMSP. It was the Brabham circuit, which is the big one that includes the new section round the back of corporate hill. Truthfully, I prefer the original GP circuit, as the super tight twisty stuff is hard work, and the car is a slug going up the hill off boost. Anyway, I have succeeded with technology and now have video! So here is my fastest lap of the day, unsurprisingly, it was the one with no traffic. I had faster laps, only to catch a car in the slow sections, unable to overtake. I will try to get the rest of the sessions uploaded soon, there was a couple of funny moments, including when I though I was going to take out a Ferrari!
