Differences Between M35 & Pm35/pnm35S?
PN-Mad replied to 300CHONG's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Ok! I'll choose one thing to go with. Exhaust For upgrades, any "cat back" exhaust from the nm35 or v35 sedan will fit. In reality this is a Y pipe back exhaust for us. Now, forward of that, headers and high flow cats / cat delete pipes to suit z33/v35 will fit your car. Some way require a little massaging to get through some areas, but will fit. The Y pipe itself I haven't found an aftermarket one, because the z/v item is shaped differently. But it wouldn't be hard for a exhaust shop to fab one up. If I had the cash / motivation to do an exhaust there is stuff on YAJ I'd buy right now.... -
Error codes won't tell you what coil pack is dodgy if any. It can throw a general misfire code, but it won't narrow it down. Does it have a check engine light illuminated?

Anyone take notes!? Unfortunately I was working. I loved the detail of the last motor active tech event, so I can imagine thus was awesome too! -
Lambchop With A Renault Axis Here...
PN-Mad replied to WAGON_BOY's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
You tried putting it up on stands and hunting out where the noise is coming from? My first thoughts was disc rubbing on stone shield or even the bottom hub alloy thing. I know my GTR discs rubbed on them before I adjusted them... -

Fatz Gtr Reliability Testing

Should have had a good chat to David Towe, and ask for a payment plan on the M3!!! -
I've used A1RMs on the track with good results too. I've never had them fade while on the track, and that was down to a 1:07 at wakie. Eastern Creek was much harder on brakes, but they still did fine. Would I smash out 8 laps on them? No. I pulled them out and didn't like the look of them. Coming away from the backing, and big chunks coming out/away. Went to the Winmax W5 which I haven't had the chance to try out yet. I think it very much depends on the longitudinal grip you can generate from your tyres. More grip they generate, the harder the brakes can work.

I've got a mishimoto rad in mine, two pass, alloy unit. It required modification to mounting points to fit, but boy I'm happy with it. When the car is moving and I've had the laptop plugged into it, even on a hot day(40 degrees) AC on, it sat at 88 degrees. Even on the track, it came in after a session without using the thermo fans (so <93 degrees). It's a bit of a pita to fit, but worth it IMO. I also have the nismo thermostat and Scotty's coolant mod. Gearbox cooler is purely external as well.

They wouldn't work well with the exhaust manifold that seems to occupy most of the space back there

I have 3 caps too, and no, I don't want to sell them! But will go in on a group buy if some one finds a stash/solution.

Oh, to answer the question on the extra coolant gallery, it was a feature on some of the other motors in some of the other motors inthe VQ range, that part of the "towing package" would feature an additional coolant passage with separate thermostat. Here are the parts http://www.z1motorsports.com/350_g35/product_info.php?products_id=3011 Good job opening it up, and sorting out the issue btw.

Lol... 70k kms...? No motor looks like that with 70k on it. I'd say they've wipe a few kms off that one. It is very, very common.

Yes I remember it being for sale. It's a 2.5 litre I think.

Brake Pads Users Ratings Guide
PN-Mad replied to Snowman's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
As Johnny said, for steet driving, a good set of pads on some DBA 4000 rotors and fresh fluid will do the job. If you are seriously running out of brakes with HC+ or similar, you really should think hard about how you drive on the streets Track on the other hand, repeated stops from near and over 200km/h will cook a lot lesser pads. If you don't plan on going to the track, or only a couple of times at most, forget spending big bucks on a Big brake upgrade. You could ask for the applicable WINMAX pads from GSL rallysport. They would do a pad suitable for your needs too. -
M35 Internal Rear View Mirror - Plug In The Back Of ?
PN-Mad replied to Rotaman's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I think it's an antenna for something. Remote start, or something or other. -
Couldn't tell you for sure unless I tear all the panels off mine, and have a look. However, calsonic make stock parts for lots of nissan models. New GTR owners constantly start new threads about having a calsonic intercooler So on the balance of probability, I would say yes, it's stock. For the stock Ecu, your looking at part number 7w060 and 7w065 from memory.

350Gt 2003 Manual Or 2006 Auto?!
PN-Mad replied to timw's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
As I mentioned, the interiors are totally different. Earlier models had brembos, that aren't available on later cars. Later models don't suffer the head unit issues. There are ecu programming changes between the models as to the closed loop running plus all the differences Andrew pointed out with the series 3 cars. However seems to be missing the 19" wheels it should be on. Either one could be a dog with 120,000kms wound back off the clock. Check with the jap odo services offered. Good luck. -
2014 World Time Attack Discussion
PN-Mad replied to GTR32G's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
I think I read it was the side skirts of the kit. Must have fallen outside of: "Original under body floor between the axles is required, no flat bottoms, diffusers, etc may extend forward of the rear axle or aft of the front axle." -
350Gt 2003 Manual Or 2006 Auto?!
PN-Mad replied to timw's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Why don't you go and drive an auto and a manual and decide what you like? Sorry to be blunt, but generally people have a preference for one or other, and then start shopping from there. It's pretty unusual to not be able to decide on two very different cars... 03 is series one, 06 is series 2 or 3... So the interiors are different too... -
M35 Bonnet Lift - Heat Extraction
PN-Mad replied to Equilibrise's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Electric thermo fans eat the dick on the DET motor. I think a couple of people, Craig being one, and maybe Dale the other (?) have back to back tested and found a properly working viscous is far more efficient. Contact a wrecker, and you should be able to get another cheap. And as Dale said, big rad, low temp thermo, and the cooling mod, and your cooling system is mint. I did a 15 min track session, came in the pits as the tranny was starting to feel hot, and the thermo fans on mine didn't even kick in (<93 degrees).
