  1. haha, Harry, I remember doing the mountain backwards in the 2004 east Coast Targa, was sure an eye opener compared to running the "normal" direction! It seemed the walls were closer and not really setup for any run-off in that direction. I remember we had a massive moment coming out of the fast left (whats it called?) coming onto mountain straight. Big camber change (we were running it blind, no sighting) shot us out onto the grass and shadowed the wall for about 30 metres. lol, change of dacks required.
  2. Nooooooo!!!!!!! Don't worry about the fun poking mate, Harry's a stirrer ! Though unfortunatley at times competetive circuit racing can degrade into trash talk similar to that horrible drag racing Must be something to do with cars being on track at the same time and being timed. lol That's half the reason i like rallying, because there's no trash talk (well, minimal) because not everyone has exactly the same conditions on their run through the stage, so therefore they can't really know why you were quicker or slower. The old saying "water off a duck's back" springs to mind my friend, just get it out there and have some fun Fun is the operative word
  3. Don't have M-spec side skirts by any chance mate? GTR rear wing, front bar etc? And sorry to hear you bent your car too
  4. Ahhh yes but the shell itself is kind of a "tear off" Not that I hope to crash, no one ever does! Better stop this crash talk
  5. ................... of having an accident!
  6. I don't believe so. I am on the hunt for some dry carbon bits though. ie, gtr style bonnet, bootlid/gtr wing/gtr nismo lip spoiler. Also hunting for some gts M-spec side skirts if anyone knows of any of these things? Now, if I can just get an RB30 hybrid ok'd I reckon I'm in with a shot.................
  7. Because I've got a gts-t now thats why! LOL
  8. Sorry i missed your post earlier mate. I sent an email asking him and here's what came back; "The car is not set up properly yet. When i bought the car, it had terrible suspension, with standard brakes and road tyres. I have done about 35 laps in the car in 2 days with that setup to get the feel of it, but on the last weekend (3 weeks ago), the oil pump packed up about 2/3 the way through the 3rd lap. I managed to save it without seizing it, so hopefully won't be too much to fix. Rebuild obviously, but hopefully rods and crank are ok. With that setup, the car would lap the Ring in about 9:20 mins or so on a clear run (never timed it though). I now have Bilstein Group N suspension, AP Racing big brake kit, new rims and Kumho V700's ordered for it, plus going to fit a cage too as I'm at it. The car should be ready for the season next year, as I'm gonna be away anyway, there's no rush. I reckon the car will be good for about 8:20 ish for a full lap when finished, possibly quicker with a lot more experience on that track. You're gonna have to come over at some stage to see it, and drive it yourself. You'll love it!!"
  9. I was thinking it was at Isle of Man but no, they don't race cars against bikes. Likely some form of promo shot?
  10. ^^ cool pic Isle of Man?
  11. Speaking with a few of my "uneducated" motorsport followers over the weekend was a bit of an eye opener. Don't read this as uneducated people they just don't get into the nitty gritty of it. All of them welcomed the thought of introducing an additional player into V8SC, stating it was boring watching just F & H trundle around. They asked why Lexus and Chrysler couldn't just enter their V8 cars, and it was then I had to inform them just how many components their beloved F & H's shared, how little was actually remotely production car based, and why Lexus wouldn't be interested in joining. Maybe years of trying on the line "win on Sunday, sell on Monday" has deluded the average punter into believing these things are close to production cars, therefore making a transition into a NASCAR style of car less acceptable? Just a thought.....
  12. Sounds great. Can't come soon enough in my book May see you when you're over chatting to Cranky Pants.
  13. Ok, here's a few from Targa Tas this year with myself and PHAT MR30 calling the notes Gets grotty with all the corner cutting; The Cethana lookout ** Thanks to Perfect Prints for the pics**
  14. I sent an email to Superlap via their website regarding my car's elligability and haven't had a reply. Anyone have an alternate suggestion?
  15. Update anyone? As Giant says, hub issues likely a human failure. Unlikely that faults like that get through to production. ....... although, now I think about it, bug-eye STi with failing front hub bearings after about 6 hrs racing anyone?
  16. Oh Geeez, ok. If you insist! lol The more I watch, the more I'm impressed. The bad Tugga Tasmania memory of the pink one is fading fast!
  17. Geeez it looked good through Gambon.

    Z06 Vs R35

I agree entirely Roy. And personally I think it's important to remember that the difference in an eight minute laptime at any track of only a few seconds is trifling, as in, Z06 v 35 GTR. A different driver, on a different day, with a different tyre pressure, with buffed or new factory fitted tyres can all have easily this much effect on a lap time. Too much weight is placed on these times being quoted. Whilst the times are a guide, it doesn't mean that a GTR, or ZR1, or Z06, or whatever, will always beat a whatever whatever thingy over a given piece of road. Witness the times at any circuit or tarmac rally you care to mention....... and the way perceptibly "inferior" vehicles routinely wax "superior" vehicles.
  19. Ahh yes, you're right. I now have the images on disk at home. Will do Battered Sav man!
  20. Sorry man, that's the best i have How about this one? Our smarty pants crew made some shirts for TT 2006..... crew names Appleton and Wooster turns into...... and the ghay pics. LOL arseclowns. Not racing I know but......
  21. Beer Baz, I rate it. I only wish the rules I run to allowed such a "weapon". Like we were discussing elsewhere, sounds like the owner's finding it hard to let go something he built himself.
  22. Hi John, on a side note re Lakeside, just had your friend and my neighbour Mr Dawson in my warehouse outlining the plans Tettley has to iron out the kink in Lakeside's main straight later in the year amongst other things. That is a travesty!
  23. Which animal Roy? Do tell me it's a VQ'd GTR.............
