i did a few bigger burnouts in the second half of the day (the christmas tree guy did seem to enjoy it a lot when anyone did a decent one)...I think it helped a little to get some heat into the street tyres, I had some good 60ft times with doing it, but only .1 kinda better....but no good if you went overboard, then it just wheelspun more off the line. Petes big burnouts were ok on his slicks...they need good heat in em to grip best. Also good to watch!!

yeah I saw that camera....was a dark burgandy kinda colour new Holden Rodeo.....hope it didnt get any lines or rexies

what an awsome day!! I had a great first time experience down the 1/4mile, learnt heaps each time I ran. I got a total of 20 runs in for the day!! (I'm pretty sure paul can top that) Best ET: 13.4 ( .52 reaction, 2.3 60ft, 113.4 mph) Best MPH: 115.9mph Best 60ft: 2.0 Best reaction time: 0.52 what a great day! thanks to everyone involved. cant wait for the next one. Berin oh, an on my last run I split a standard rubber elbow bend of my intercooler piping.....bitta 100mph tape wraped round there an EBC switched off....made it home sweet as.

Just wondering if anyone had any recomendations as to what sort of tyre pressures to run for regular street tyres on the strip? I'll have 255/40/R17 BFGoodridge on the back of my R33 gts-t. should I do a big burnout to warm the tyres as much as I can? or keep it minimal an see how it goes? cheers

maybe your stock car has actually had a fully rebuilt blue printed & balanced engine with port/polished/flowed heads, intake & exhaust manifolds, with aftermarket cams and cam gears..... all done in Jap land, all looking like a stock motor on the exterior....lol just a thought.... 2 add my 2cents, my 33 made 172kw with front mount, pod, cat back an 1 bar (14.7 psi) back in the day when thats all i had

the baby restraint on the parcel shelf is just a tapped thread into the parcel shelf, but i was thinking of re-tapping it to the 12mm fine thread of the eyelet bolt and maybe puttung a base plate under the shelf where it screws in for a bit of extra strength? but still not sure if it's ok to anchor 2 belts off the one eyelet?

abcent replied to abcent's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
yeah thats exactly what I had in mind for the extinguisher...thanks for the pic!! -
cars lookin awsome Pavel, nice rims...nearly bought em myself but when i tried em on the car they hit my rear calipers...they seem to be pimpin there way round geelong...lol... where'd you get the spray job done? home job or professional? looks awsome either way!. Keen to give mine a good respray thats all, without the huge cost... another question completely off topic Pav, would you happen to have a stock wing sitting around? I'm in need of all the bolts & clips out of one an have been looking everywhere to buy some but no joy...need to fit my carbon D wing like yours.

Hi all, I'm only just starting to get the bits n pieces required to start doing the track days with SAU-vic and was after a little advise in regards to the anchor points of the 4 point harness.. I have a R33 gts-t the 4 point harness is an Italian made "motor quality" item my questions: 1: for the inside (centre conside) anchor point, is it better to put it straight into the point where the factory seat buckle is mounted (which is part of the seat frame)? or maybe re tap the thread to suit the eyelet where the rear seat mount is bolted into the tunnel (frame of the car)? 2: where can I mount the shoulder straps in the rear without too much modification/fabrication? I've seen people mount them at the lower seatbelt points of the rear seat, but I'd prefer to keep a better angle and mount them on the parcel shelf. Can I anchor both shoulder belts off one eyelet (like the attatched pic, best i could do with paint) anchored in the baby restraint hole (will have to re-tap to suit larger eyelet bolt)? that would be the easiest solution for me.... all advise in regards to this welcome, as i realise there's probably around 1001 ways to do this. I also know its best to get a bar fabricatied through a race shop...but dont wish to spend $700 for 2 mount points....if i was going to spend that much i'd be looking at a bolt in cage then mount them off that... 3: I have an approved fire extinguisher with a stainless high impact mounting bracket...wheres it best to mount this? is there any regulations in regards to where it has to be through cams? I was thinking to avoid drilling holes in my car, i'd mount it at the base of the passanger seat, mounting a bar between both front seat rail mount and bolting it to that? that'll do for now....so many questions hehe..... i'd love to see ay pics of peoples 33 set ups to get a better idea if anyone has any? thanks heaps for any help!! trying to pimp your tyres off ey....

so in a nut shell......I'd be best to look for a set of drag RADIALS for the rear for a little extra grip and to maintain balance of the car. thanks for all the advise guys, much appretiated!! anyone know where I can find CHEAP 17" drag radials in Victoria?
-
Theres an drag event coming up for SAUvic soon and I was wondering.....if i get some wide 15 inch drag slicks for the rear of my 33-t can i leave the street steel radial 17's on the front? I heard ages ago that if you have slicks, they have to be on all 4 corners...any truth to this? Can I bang the slicks on the back only and enjoy having traction for once? Or am I destine to take on the 1/4 on my regular street tyres? cheers I've emailed heathcote park, but still no reply as yet...
-
quick an easy answer to my question, thanks Kaz!! have to get onto that once the next pay cheque goes through..hehe cheers

Do the coilovers have pillowball upper mounts? If so thats your clunking noise for sure, had it in my old coilovers & heard it on many others. I searched for ages looking for the problem when everything looked to be in good condition, Pedders couldnt even find it. You can just replace the tops with std upper mounts, thats what I did. Or pay big $$ for new pillowball items? not that it'll make any noticable difference to the handling of your car. Cheers Berin

lets just say that a lot of the time the front wheels tend to do a lot less kms than the rear..... an not all the gears were replaced, only first & second gears, a few syncros, an 3 gear hubs. no point replacing stuff that doesnt need to be. not that it matters, but both myself and my freind are mechanics & priced up the rebuild kits through nissan at employee prices, an yeah, it was expensive.....

where are you located? I'm looking for a pair of rear hub assembly's.

Clutch Upgrade
abcent replied to nismoskyline32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I'd HIGHLY recomend Jim Berry (race clutch) clutch's, I have one in my car thats a brass button item with 3400kg clamp pressure, and it very street usable. builds brilliant clutch's at a good price. Give him a call an talk with Jim, he'll help nut out exactly what you need an what it'll cost. Never spoken to anyone so knowledgeable about clutch's. cheers Berin
