  1. Do you have any idea how many plates and discs, and what positions they are in? any comment on how your car drives in tight, low speed corners on the track? thanks
  2. I've read about guys rearranging the plates and discs in the stock GTR R200 diff. They changed the stack so the plates and discs alternate, similar to the Nismo diffs. Anybody have good feedback on this?
  3. here's a 2.9L BMW M52 at 'regular Joe' boost levels (18 psi?) source: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1913480 T4 divided 1.00 a/r HTA 3794R DBB billet Turbo(SLOWER SPOOLING) -VS- T4 open .68 a/r 6776 DBB non-billet Turbo
  4. that is about 586 lbft of torque at 4800rpm. That thing must hit like a ton of bricks!
  5. agreed that it sounds like excessive back pressure check your exhaust system check for a rag in your intercooler piping
  6. Fixed that for you I'm willing to bet the branch fits fine where the center muffler goes. Read my earlier links guys!
  7. I believe "more boost added" isn't quite the correct explanation. Just looking for clarification so i can try something similar.
  8. How did you guys get the boost to come in so much earlier on the orange line?
  9. Drone is fixed with hemholtz chambers or branch resonators. Its math and physics, not guessing. OEMs do it, you should too. http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?101230-Branch-resonators-ways-of-reducing-exhaust-drone
  10. Could we bother you for a dyno sheet with RPM on the bottom axis? It would be most appreciated!
  11. so...hollinger bolts to the r34 trans or not? risking says yes, bobby says no.
  12. can you please post some pictures? i`d really like to see the bolt holes. also, can you confirm the model?
  13. I`m running .014" intake and .012 exhaust
  14. the specs from that video: HKS 2,8l stroker kit + twin GT2860-5 + nismo intake plenum + greddy 264 cams + 1000cc RC injectors + Apexi D-Jetro + Almasi tuning the scale on the torque curve looks wrong, but the power curve looks accurate http://www.gtrpwr.co...thread.php?t=62
  15. I don't understand what the issue is. e85, increasing boost later in the rpm range, and 'at the limit' tuning probably explain the nice graph 20psi @ 4700rpm sounds very good, but reasonable 700Nm @ 5000 rpm sounds very good, but reasonable nobody else even talks about, let alone posts graphs, about increasing boost with rpm. that's probably the main reason for the high peak power.
  16. gotta love your boost control strategy. didn't know you could change boost with respect to rpm with the haltech. looks like you can change boost with respect to gear too, correct?
  17. read the link i posted. the customer purchased from a bw-recommended vendor. then, he phoned bw: "I just spoke with Brian Rhinehart of Borg Warner manufacturing directly. Unfortunately, the photos I have posted are of a genuine Borg Warner EFR 7670 twin scroll turbo." look at the bolt holes. waaay off center. terrible.

  19. you don't have to 'hope' for option #1. a proper inspection can eliminate most of the risk before you purchase.
  20. That's a top of the line build. You may want to leave some stuff off if its over your budget.
  21. If I could do it again, I'd seriously think about running a motor with stock internals. Beat the crap out of it, blow it up, rinse, repeat. Dealing with engine builders generally sucks, and people generally overbuild motors for no good reason. What do you truly get with a built motor? piece of mind?
  22. Its twin 3" to 4" and the backbox hasn't been welded on yet, and thanks for the tip Nismoid - I'll keep an eye on it.
  23. ^ nicely done! mine:
  24. just using heat wrap...tomei dumps...yes, the clearance is nothing
