  1. It can be done, I did it in 5 mins the other week. Bit of inch pipe and lump hammer. Which leads to my next point, metal cats arent worth the space they take up. Iv killed my second well known brand 100 cell cat in less than a couple of thousand kms. They are rubbish. They get hot, fold over and holy back pressure. The 'best' cat for purpose is a bf xr6t cat, 3 inch, and mine was running euro3 standard on the emissions test.
  2. And the best part the torque or tractive effort, steady climb to 4700 revs where it sits dead on 7000n or 400 ftlb all the way to the end
  3. No idea. Only that run was short all others were from under 3
  4. That's all just Off my first impressions too. I know I have a very small leak at the tb as the water was bubbling a little. Not what you'd say to make much change. And don't get me wrong, it's much faster than the z. Just Off boost eg 3k it makes about 8 pound where the z made about 5, its not a problem though. It doesn't feel laggy at all as it speeds up with engine in a way I can't explain. It's going to be dangerous in the rain haha. Once I sort the leak I'll see how it is. I might try get on the air strip for a video of the response? Overall love it.
  5. 7670 results. Firstly, I must say that we had boost fall over as you can see we went from 22-17psi. Thats because of the 7 pound spring in the gate. Secondly, is was a very hot very humid day and engine was heat soaking manifold real bad. Also the 3 inch exhaust isnt helping. I need 3.5 realisticly. Otherwise, its an animal. That is tuned on the the following 'Built' 25 (balance, rods, cp's etc etc) Greddy manifold Plazmaman inlet Big cooler 256 poncams Nismo 555 inj 600+ cc of water meth caltex 98 and the other supporting goods. We had a fair bit of wheelspin on the rollers as well. Didnt realise until after though... Its not coming on at the late 3000's but more the mid 4000's rpms. Around the 3k and under its not real different to the t04z.. What I can say though that the dyno doesnt is the transient boost response. Its f****ng unreal. It pulls unreal right through, and if you break traction its crazy how fast it responds, even between gear shifts its like its supercharged. Its like a whole new car to drive, but still placid in the cruising rev range. Not any time soon I plan to do 3.5 exhaust and put in a bigger spring, but not in a hurry. My tuner believes it should do near 400 with out the wheelspin, bigger spring and exhaust. Feedback?
  6. Could you just modify your pickup to suit?
  7. Gtr has a bigger bolt. Id guarantee stripping bolt or snapping crank where collar is grub screwed if you did it that tight on a 25. Cant you have hand brake on with someone on foot brake? and in 5th gear?
  8. When you say not tensioning properly, what do you mean and is this mainly with the 26's and 30's? I just put mine on last week again, I use a touch of loctite on shaft, normal amount on bolt and pull it as tight as I can with a 700mm breaker bar, with car in 5th gear. The 26's are meant to be 460 odd NM? How the eff can you do that without 3 meters of pipe? Mines a 25.
  9. Fair enough, I hope to get mine done in 2 weeks. Im looking around the 380 mark. Thats with a 50mm ex gate but
  10. Wont do 400 or 420?
  11. Ah I forgot about afm. Been running a map to long to remember haha. Still shouldnt be a problem at steady idle though?
  12. Turbo will have next to zero affect on idle..
  13. Im hoping to have the 7670 tuned on my 25 in about 3 weeks. Test fit today, very very close. the exh housing is about 7mm from the cam cover. Ill put some heat foil to help from melting the foam in the baffles. The comp cover is about 10mm off shock tower... Also im running a 3/8 hose for the drain instead of 1/2 inch. Pretty sure that wont be a problem. Very keen to have it going!
  14. Bronze guides aren't too bad when your running a bucket over valve. Its rocker on valve that gives them a hard time. In saying that theres no discussion that the cast lasts longer.
  15. No it's twin into one for the gate
  16. That's the ugly bit. Still well attached but cracked around. I'll clean it off
  17. Its just a bit of weld material where someone has welded cracks before thats kinda ugly. I dont plan on welding internally but ill remove any sus looking metal before i fit it back up. Not sure that any would come free but ill tidy it anyway. When this one gets beyond it ill fab a replica one up in 3mm wall s/s. till then ill give it a tidy. Anyone want pics of ugly bit?
  18. I plan too! I have to doctor my manifold too. Its a greddy one and i'v never seen such a shit job. No internal fusion at all, bits on the inside of the collector are coming off. Really need to fix that just got to work out how.
  19. Just a few pics of a test fit. The 7076 is compared to t04z in first pics, I cant believe how big the thing is! I have some more machining to do on manifold then i have to re-fab my dump, make a new s/s intercooler pipe. Put the poncams in, somehow fit the p/s res in there somewhere as the comp cover sits where it did now! then make a oil drain. Im going to use hydraulic hose onto the jic fittings with some fire sleeve over it (unless this is bad idea?) then re fit everything I dont have to molester for this to work, and make an impossible heat shield. Should be fun!
  20. Ill put some up soon!
  21. Cool, was just curious to know thanks
  22. How did you work out too much flow? Do you have better coilpacks? I can spray 600cc/min at 8psi and it doesnt hesitate at all
  23. You went down in nozzle size? Why?
  24. I just got my 7670 ex gate with 1.05 rear. Its physically bigger than my t04z. Hope the sucker fits!
