  1. Did a headlight restore today and came up mint. Also took a sneaky video of her running. Doesn't do it justice to how lumpy the idle is though. VID_20180805_155744.mp4
  2. First mod - always wheels and lower. Dropped the car from 4x4 spec down to a reasonable level. In my above post I was talking about how rough the ride was.. After dropping the coils, the car feels completely different. There was an adjustment screw on the hats in the ebay that I loosened off and it helped immensely. Car is now sitting on Work Emotion CR2Ps 18x10+5 wrapped in Yokohama Advan Neova AD08Rs 265/35. Can't wait to drive in the dry and see how it hooks up.
  3. For anyone interested here is a link to my new build thread.
  4. Hello all, If anyone was following my previous build thread I had an R34 GTT [FR34K] that I wrote off. I decided it was probably my only chance to get into the GTR scene. After searching for a while I found a member on here selling a beautiful white R33 GTR V-spec with an N1 engine. My goals for this car are just to be a weekend cruiser, occasionally heading down to the drags to see what it can do. If I could run a 10 second pass on the H pattern gearbox I would be exstatic, and I think somewhere in the vicinity of 800awhp would be more than enough as a max power figure. Car already has -7 turbos, poncams and a power FC with supporting mods, making a respectable 420awhp. It has HKS coilovers, Project mu rotors and gold BBS rims, with a lovely Jun style carbon lip. Immediate thoughts of this car (coming from a 485whp GTT) are: it's really fast. The GT35R on my R34, although made nice power, was quite laggy in comparison to the -7s. They feel like they have no lag, and the car doesn't have any problems whatsoever putting the power to the ground. I find myself looking down at the speedo after planting my foot and being blown away about how fast I'm going. The gear ratios help play a part in that as well, although aggressive, are still fantastic when just cruising. The suspension is very stiff - too stiff for me (it's something I will be changing very soon) but it handles superbly. After landing in WA, I took the car to a licencing centre to get it inspected. The list consisted of some minor things like globes and removing of tint. Nothing major - the hardest thing was child restraints which I borrowed out of a wrecked r33. Yesterday I passed my final inspection and picked up my custom plates.
  5. As per this ad, he has mentioned that the s3 is 35mm lower than the s1&2. While we are on the topic, does the s3 front lip fit the s1 bumper? I prefer my s1 bumper without the intercooler ducts, and would just like a more aggressive lip.
  6. Yeah sorry guys, I was thinking about that this morning and realised how stupid I must sound aha. The guy who did my struts didn't correct me, I believe it would be newtons. EDIT: Re-uploading pictures of finished product.
  7. Just wanted to share with everyone some concrete information regarding replacing boot struts on R33 skyline, specifically the GTR but I am sure the information will be transferable. The reason I am posting is that there wasn't much information regarding pressures & the ability to remove the strut from the bracket (requiring drilling). What I did ended up costing me $110. Below is a picture I pulled from another thread, this is the part of the strut that is hard to remove. Very hard, but not impossible. What we did was use my 10mm spanner and wedge it in between the ball and the strut, then slowly work the it off. It looks like it's going to snap the strut and it ends up destroying it, but that's ok because new ones are cheap. This is what mine looked like in the end. We ended up putting 100nm of pressure in each cyl. It holds the boot fine with a genuine GTR spoiler. If I had to do it again, I would put 150nm in each to see if it holds any better, BUT that 100 works just fine. Any questions please shoot them through.
  8. Sort of an update.. You are now looking at my new track missile. Got the car back today. Front end is completely buggered (as we all knew) but the engine is pretty much untouched. Starts and runs just fine. Throw a radiator and intercooler in it and it'd be sweet to thrash. Thread is now about making this chassis into a track beast. I will buy another r34 and make that into my weekender/cruiser, like this one was. Stay tuned for updates and a new thread.
  9. It's official, car is a write off. Will be getting more information from insurance about buying the wreck back. I guess this will be my track missile once my workshop is built. The most disappointing parts are that I have spent the last few years loving this car more than any other of my possessions, sinking lots of money into it, admiring and enjoying every moment driving it.. And in a split second moment of stupidity/carelessness/impatience and a little bad luck, it is all thrown away and I feel like I am back to square one. Pretty upset fellas to say the least.
  10. LOL nevermind. Mingled with a barrier today. Barrier won.
  11. LSD is in, certainly improves the way the car accelerates and turns. I have never driven with a 1.5 way, and it's interesting to feel a difference in the way the car behaves under acceleration and deceleration. Car had only a small leak fixed on the service, apart from that everything was perfect. Unfortunately this is going to be the last update for a while. I need to start saving so I can put my workshop on my property, so I can start building a track missile. Peace!
  12. Finally got a chance to wash the car myself. Been so flat out with house stuff. Also bought a Nismo 1.5 way GT LSD which is going in Monday, plus a service & check over.
  13. Still here. Bought a house, and haven't really had funds spare to spend on the car. Shoes are on, haven't really taken a good photo of them though. They are Work Emotion CR2P. I bought some same size all round and they didn't fit on the front on full lock, so I had to buy 2 more :'(. Anyone want to buy them? (see my sig)
  14. Sorry for lack of updates. Still trying to buy a house, and I am going to Japan in a fortnight so needed to save for that. I do have new shoes coming. They should be ready when I get back from Japan. Get rid of the rotas and replace them with Works. I won't give it all away just yet. I also had my rb26 covers modified to suit my VCT. Once I have put the new rims on and some funds free up I'll get them painted up and put on.

  16. I'm not unhappy.. But disappointed that I didn't even hit the 500hp mark. I will look at going to the drags with my 050s when my 2 step is programmed in. See if I can snap something.
  17. Side skirts and rear pods from JSAI, The front lip from vivagarage.
  18. Just got the car back, had it detailed. Here's a few pictures from yesterday. Had the tyres changed for Advan Neova AD08Rs 245/40 front and 265/35 rear to cope with the extra power. Still waiting for the dyno sheet.
  19. Sorry for not much updates. Been busy saving for/looking at houses. BUT Car is currently at the mechanic. New intake plenum, AI SP800 surge tank with twin walbro 460s and a DW300 intank lift, new speedflow fuel lines into a FPR2000, ethanol content sensor, wideband (and a couple small extra goodies) are installed. The plenum is a gorgeous go-zirra motorsports. Flow tested with average 1% deviation between cylinders (compared with 6% on a genuine greddy), CNC billet in anodized black, with matching 80mm throttle body and fuel rail. Looks deluxe. Should be getting tuned this week or next. Hoping to crack 400rwkw unopened Stay tuned for actual figure, and when I put some decent tyres on, I'll do a fwy or tunnel pull and put it up.
  20. Yeah they are quite large. I think 265 are supposed to sit sort of flush on a 9.5, but mine are still quite bulged. Update on my fitment. I pumped/flared my front guards and had minimal scraping issues. Running maybe -2/-2.5 deg camber I should have no clearance issues with the current height.
  21. I'm in the middle of buying/looking for a house, so the car is going to be put on the back burner regardless. But once I have the house, I will look around for a track car, new daily (that can tow said car) and a car trailer. It may take me a year to get to that point, but I don't think I am going to really have the money or time to track this regardless - because if something breaks I won't have endless funds or time to pour into it like I kind of do now. Being an adult sucks
  22. Yeah it has taken a little bit, but I think it is finally there. Even I am amazed at how well it is holding up. Would have done well over 30 laps at Collie, and 8 laps at Barbs, and the only issue I found was my power steering fluid is leaking very slowly. I drive this thing ridiculously hard, always on boost, quick shifts, hard on the brakes, and it loves everything I throw at it. I'm in 2 minds what I should do to it now though. I don't want to keep tracking it because I would hate to hit something and damage it because then I am without it - so I want to build a purpose built car, so do I keep modifying this? I was going to put my fuel setup in it and run it on e85, but is it even worth it if I am just going to be using it as a weekend cruiser?
