Wheel Sizes & Offsets For Skylines
sleptema replied to Sydneykid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I have 225 on my 9.5+20. Main reason being that if you have 255 on there, you will not be able to lower it much less than factory. I have dropped mine about 20mm, and it sits on the tyre very nicely. 9.5+20 is a very aggressive rim, and while I wouldn't have it any other way, it's cop bait for sure. I recently get a defect notice because of this. That being said, as soon as the farker is off, I will be slamming it again. -

You are just rolling the lip on the fender.. Not missing the plastic lining... There are almost no downsides to getting it done. -

I have heard the gtx works amazingly with e85, producing rapid spool times, with the same power at a gt35 would normally put out. That being said, it is early days yet. I am waiting to see what numbers a few of the boys are making with holset hx35 / 40 turbos. -
HID bulbs pulse when they need to be replaced. They often don't "burn out" perse, but the chemical reaction inside the bulb reaches its limit, and needs to turn off to rewind the process. Replace bulb, It will be fine. Note: don't touch bulb with fingers, or it will go pop.

Was doing a hills run and I was the first car. Other cars behind me ran when the cops came after me haha. On top of the yellow I got $800 fine and 6 demerits for speeding. On the defect notice it says my coil overs have no rebound, and my rims are too wide. This should be close to 350rwkw, I have a feeling the turbo would run out of puff any higher. I will use the standard internals on the first build, because I won't punch anything higher than 18 psi into it. But the second time I build (when more cash is avaliable) I'll go gtx35 and e85, and aim for the 500rwkw mark. iruyouskyline has just built his 25/30 with a 3076r. I think he made 400hp w/ full boost at 2800. -

Both type a and type b poncams retain VCT, to my knowledge. I believe the reason there aren't many options for large lift and duration cams for neo's is exactly that - if you go too big, you cannot retain VCT, which is a massive advantage. I am going to do everything in my power to keep the VCT, as it's advantages far outweigh the disadvantages, especially at the power range I am looking at. -

I have [FR34K] Partly because I am a bit out there, and partly because I was drunk when I ordered them. Still snaps necks.

Still slowly saving for a house, so it's not going to be super quick. But I would say within 6 months everything would be completely done. I hope to have my current engine tuned by end of may though. Yeah, freedom at last! hahaha If you look next to my plenum there are 2 gears. The red is the exhaust, which is just a standard tomei gear. But the gold one underneath is a "Greddy adjustable cam sprocket". Apparently rarer than hens teeth. We had someone in Perth find some and order all the stock they had, and they all went within a week. Wasn't cheap though. Was a bit eager today, and already started the strip down Looks like it may have over heated, as the thermostat was blocked right up.. Still yet to inspect internals though. -

It begins... Apparently rb30 has 117k kms on it, in good condition. Not going to hold my breathe until I have inspected first. But guy seemed pretty genuine. -

Life plans have changed, again. No longer have a missus, so lets make some boost instead. I have been in contact with a tuner here in Perth who knows a thing or 2 about neos, he has tuned one over 750rwhp on the standard bottom end. I have got a price for a new ecu (Link g4+ pnp) and tune. Just currently getting the parts ready for a FFP and high mount conversion. Gasket kit arrived today. I have sourced an intake adjustable cam gear that retains VCT, and I have an adjustable exhaust gear in the mail now. And I am picking up a d1 stable high mount manifold this weekend. Also will have a rb30e engine in the shed tonight, will source a spare neo head and get that all ready for the car. Goals are 400+ rwhp on the neo, and a super responsive 450-500 on the 3L. -
When did it start happening, and WHAT EXACT COMPONENT were you messing around with JUST BEFORE it started happening?
-
elrodeo666 is Zero Point I believe. PM him. Pretty much everyone on SAU goes to him because they are decent LEDs and they are cheap.
-
Did it come with any instructions, or was it just plug and play? Short answer, yes, it is supposed to be illuminated.

Sound like you are having some back luck my friend. I hope everything works out for you. Subscribing for awesomeness! -
Well this is perfect, as I will be running almost exact same setup. Only I will be running a china high mount exhaust manifold, type a poncams and a genuine Tomei cam sprocket. Will be interesting to see the results and compare between the 2. Would love to see your build specs/what you did to the block, as I will be starting in a few months. I had Ben make me a bunch because there are a lot of people chasing adjustable intakes for neos over here. Also the iacv adapter plates. He's a great guy

I'm keen to see the results of this, as I was going to do the same type of conversion. What cams are you going to run? And are you going to get an adjustable exhaust as well? Overhead plenum or freddy/ffp?

Listen to niZmO_Man, please, for the love of god. He knows much more than you. Don't take what he said, then debate it. -

18x9.5 + 30 will be safe. 18x8+15ish for fronts.. But I would just run 9.5+30 all round IMO. I am running 9.5+20 all round with no issues (but I am poking outside guards) -
See, I don't know why anyone would do that to a bay.. Some nice braided or even black tubing doesn't cost the world, and cable ties look so tacky.. Obviously not priority one, but aesthetics!

Details on where you got that kit? Sexy as hell on a T.

http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-store/products/VHT-Lens-Tint-Night-Shades-312g.aspx?pid=7790#Recommendations Original can was purple, this must be updated. I don't recommend using it on a registered vehicle unless you want pineapples. -

I believe you want the same size all round on a GTR or the altezza system has a cry. Anyone else care to weigh in?
