I have the same/similar clutch, full face organic with upgraded pressure plate. When it was installed the first time I had a similar rattle (no clunk that I can remember) the alignment of the plates was average and thus causing additional stress on the thrust bearing during engagement and disengagement (why I asked the question) I had ANOTHER one installed (for free) and runs perfectly. So my only guess then is alignment combined with the sprigot...possibly

I might be missing your point but I am saying 1. Stock boost run about 1.1 2. Above stock use 0.8 gap As for iridium supposedly they provide a higher energy charge, and last longer than coppers. I have only ever run coppers in rotors due to the higher fuel ratios and ease of removal. And almost forgot, I don't pay any where near $20 each for Iridiums so I use them...

I was recently in the states and had the joy of seeing the New York Motor Show. Now the GTO (read Monaro) over there has been using the LS2 for a while. There are a number of peformance places with exceptional knowledge to provide you with some info and parts. Firstly, try www.summitracing.com Also, good to see a "car enthusiast" not bagging but appreciating. I had a run with a 300kw HSV at Willowbank some months back (yes the old LS1 oil burner) and he had me by only a bit. I am stock except for rebuild, zorst and pod , running stock boost, so a modded one with boost, and a decent driver would make an interesing comparison. Go to the drags and test the theory is all I can say!!!

Correct, that was due to the Platinums lasting longer and due to the crap intake not requiring its removal regularly. Plug gap should ALWAYS be measure with the right equipment. It should also be noted that the Iridium plugs and the platinum ones only have a FINE layer of this coating. The terminals are NOT 100% Plat or Irid. SO be CAREFUL when re-gapping these plugs. I am sure that you can get 0.8 iridiums as far as I am aware. Also note that the gap AND the temperature will have a bearing on the efficiency of spark dpending on a number of factors, including system performance, boost, fuel ratio, revs, intake temp etc. The best bet is anything over stock boost gap to 0.8 and use a slightly higher heat rating, so 5's instead of 6/7 and it should be sweet. It is amazing home different ANY car will run with different or better suited plugs...

Yes I know the place at STAFFORD and they do a poor TUNE...hope that is alreight to say. Yes they are expensive, and I do not trust them after a person on here had a Motec fitted and would cut out BEFORE redline. And they tuned it on a 2 wheel dyno without the front safts removed damaging the transfer case...and they cost a fortune to boot. There are a couple of places on the coast that do Motec, i will have a look and get back!!

I am running the above plugs, at the 1.1 gap on stock boost. I have been told that when raising the boost, I should be running copper plugs at 0.8 I think the issue may in fact NOT be the plugs as the 0.8 has also been recommended on the Iridiums many times for boost above stock. I have seen RB's running about 15-20psi with plug gaps of 0.8mm I would be looking at the coil packs unfortunatly to isolate the problem. It may in fact be ONE of the packs not all...

I had a similar problem, mainly after driving down the highway with the air con on and pulling up at lights. Cleaned the mesh on the AFM and then the throttle body. Seems to have solved most of it. Then again I have my car idle at about 800....seems 500 is a bit low????

Give Jason at Quickfit Yerongpilly a call and tell him Neill suggested you talk to him!! On a side note, I would also recommend Federal's and if you want something slightly similar and a bit cheaper as far as my memory goes Kumho Ecsta's they are very good with grip and wear!!! It all depends on what you want and for what purpose. They also stock the new Michelins that are very good but pricing and also BF Goodrich have quite a few good types of tyres in that size Number is 3217 1188

Hmmm...decisions decisions Well I thought someone might have found an adapter, I will work something out I am sure...hell I can build an engine I am sure I can fit a stupid gauge thats designed for a bolt on fitting... I have used the nylon cause I am fitting an A pillar pod and want to use the brass fittings so the fruker won't go anywhere, if it comes off the t-piece under the bonnet then that is fine. I have a heap of 4 and 3mm vacuum hose laying around I will look at that!!!
