Looks pretty good for a 1987 Skyline...pfft When will dealers learn...

A mate picked up his GTR yesterday and had a VERY similar problem, unfortunatley the mechanic working on it reckons its more than the oil seal. You may be lucky but is could be a terminated turbo...

Gympie, they only just got power didn't they... And yes there are a shite load of aussies over in the uk...I think thats why all the poms like that song stuck here in the uk (with the skips)

Going back to factory BOV? (Pics)
Bobjones replied to Anquetil's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
But you WILL need a gasket then if the original has been removed...otherwise it won't seal correctly and you will have a boost leak... -
Agreed :headspin: I have used some Meguirs stuff but that was for chrome wheels on the inside for shows...

Which exhaust should I choose for my R33 GTSt?
Bobjones replied to Burns's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The front dump if it is split, has to take into account that there is going to be some cross flow from the internal waste gate and the other pipe, it is vertually impossible to completely separate the two, thus why large turbo's run external gates. CES have developed a really good product and have put several on 200's with very good results. i intend to get one as they are comparable if not better than the HKS items, and add to that the ease o dealing with an Aust co. However, saying that the Aust muffler, most of which are cannon style which I hate with a PASSION, are crap, I really like my fat arse muffler will post a pic if I can find my digi cam... -
Which exhaust should I choose for my R33 GTSt?
Bobjones replied to Burns's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
You can pick up cat back exhuasts pretty cheap...and most decent exhaust shops know how to weld and not to bend a system to much... the only real "Japanese" part I would invest in due to the R&D is the muffler and dump pipe as these two elements contribute significantly to flow. Add to this the flow of the cat and resonators and the rest is JUST pipe...pipe is pipe is pipe. I currently have only a 3 inch cat back bolt on system from 5 Zigan...bloody big rear muffler but nice a quiet, does have a crap resonator that I am removing shortly the whole system is modular so I can get a section made without a res, bolt in for some occassions and bolt in the straight pipe for others...flows 100 times better than stock yet to dyno though... -
Simple answer don't speed... Second response, "I was not speeding" Hand held laser guns are the most unreliable speed detection device ever invented. If you take it to court and you have admitted to speeding then the judge has no choice but to confirm the fine, if you have denied the probability is that, based on recent cases you would have the fine squashed...

I was out that way yesterday to see a client, now I know where it is I may have to drop by... I got the web address off a mate on the pulsar forums... You guys wouldn't happen to have an R33 series 2 drivers side inner guard lower section (that joins to the front bar) would you??
-
I think www.pulsar.org.au may be able to help you jump onto the forums. There are some differences off the top of my head including oil squirters on the GTi-R version, unsure about u12 and 13 SR20DET's though

Possible sale of VOLK TE37 rims
Bobjones replied to AFRO's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Which wheel shop is that, post PM if you want... Just looking at the really bad rim, I think it is BEYOND repair, but the back too look fine. I really like the wheels but want a new set if you could let me know where I can get these rims!!! -
Hey I am on redline too... Was a good read, and it has been siad here before that people think speed kills, the fact is the COMBINATION of factors kills, especially dickhead drivers...

You remove the standard clutch type fan and replace it with something like a Davies Craig fan that is electronic and works only when a soloniod is activated by a certain temp, they are used in all FWD cars and performance cars as it reduces the load on the engine... They are often also more efficient at cooling thus their use in motorsport... Also you can get the cams from www.mercurymotorsport.com.au deliverable to anywhere in oz, and they are on special this month and I am yet to find a cheaper price delivered...

Drag Combat - PRIZES - Media - What you can win!
Bobjones replied to 2rismo's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Looks like some good prizes, I am not entering but will be crewing for the ex Ares Speed R33 GTR, he is a member on here (GTR_Cam) at the Brisbane event on the 21st. Sounds like its gonna be a excellent day!!! Cheers Bob -
Its a little harder of QLD, most police officers know it is illegal...but then again, what you use in the sub box space is anyones guess... Besides a dry system is alot easier to hide than a wet system... I have run a couple of systems mainly on commodores of mates due to the ease of installation...they go a bit harder but the nos is only used at WOT...
-
Looks like I will now be crewing at this event for one of the GTR's on here, its the ex-Ares Speed GTR but now with decent tuning etc etc, hope to see you guys there!!! Cheers Bob

Well I attempted this mission on the weekend, as well as radiator flush and coolant change, front strut brace innergaurd removal on drivers side due to being broken and flapping around... Now the hardest part of the whole damn thing was the grill removal that took 20 minutes for me to work out how the fudge to remove it WITHOUT breaking it... As I was cleaning the overflow tank for the radiator which required the removal of the washer reserviour and the movement of the power box thing out the way I decided to remove the headlight as well, piece of cake...no need for a jack either to remove innergaurd, now I can confirm that you can take apart most nissans with a 10mm spanner and socket, and a couple of screwdrivers... Also I checked the bulb holder had a pile of crap around it and would not turn easily despite my vain attempts while still installed. So now all nice clean coolant and a parker bulb that works!!!
