  1. Thanks not bad for 56.6kg girl hey
  2. Birds, stubborn?
  3. Hey Nick, it was amazing. Nathan Baxter is a huge wealth of knowledge and quite funny! He pointed out my bench grip is too close together and I'm using a lot of my triceps. At first, the wide grip felt horrible and I couldn't bench 40kg without help from my spotter. However; after a few goes I was easily benching 42kg for reps. He also gave me some great tips about crushing the bar on the way down, and focusing on keeping the pinky finger tight! I got the most of the deadlift tips and tricks though. An important technique he taught us was breathing in and pushing out your stomach before lifting. I don't have much of a stomach to push out, so he suggested I use a belt. I'm also having my knees too far forward in my setup; hence all my knee bruises. He suggested when I set up to keep my legs straight as I bend down to touch the bar; only once I have touched the bar with my hands should I bend my knees. He had some great cues, which I think will be beneficial to me once I'm used to them. Deadlifted a pb of 102kg at the seminar anyway I have now joined Dungeon Powerlifting in Bunbury, WA. I have my run through and programming session with the strength coach tomorrow. Hopefully you will be seeing bigger numbers out of me soon!
  4. fair enough, nah no sarcasm. I love Sundays as it's the only day I don't exercise lol However I just ordered new running shoes, so will be running again on a Sunday morning when they arrive

  13. I'm going to a bench press seminar tomorrow hosted by Nathan Baxter at my new powerlifting gym. Very excited, but also not sure what to expect. I'm hoping to learn some tips and tricks; possibly readjust my technique as I have issues with keeping my knuckles pointing to the ceiling, and get back to my pb anyway!
  14. Negative. I'm under alot of stress atm with work and selling my house and other things. I got a couple of hours last night
  15. I have Physio tomorrow, thankfully. My injured shoulder isn't too bad, it's the other shoulder that's hurting now. Overall though my back is feeling much better; I can lift my arms up over my head, lie down etc now. Exercising is about the only thing aggravating it but I've been foam rolling during my sets to help with discomfort.
  16. Fair enough. Thanks. I've joined a powerlifting gym; start there next week so hopefully my numbers will come up more being in that environment with proper coaching. It's really my bench I'm disappointed with at the moment. I'm going to a bench press seminar on Saturday hosted by Nathan Baxter (Aus powerlifter) at this powerlifting gym so hopefully I can learn some tips and tricks!
  17. fair enough, would just be good to see what a few kgs less on you looks like.
  18. Sounds positive Dan. You should post a pic up! In my opinion 86kg is the perfect weight for a guy who is around 6ft tall... not too skinny and not too big
