I went to APC the other day and i saw a RB25DE plenum which looked very similar to the greddy item. It apparently uses the standard injectors and a Q45 throttle body but is a cheap casting job.

Has anyone actually had one of these fitted with good results?

I ask because i have a crappy cut and shut with a front feeding (like GTR) inlet and i would like to replace it with this one if it is any good. I believe they said it costs around $700ish.

I checked out ISL-33P  and his profile says a custom plenum (exchange) costs $1000 where the one i am talking about costs $700ish (from memory).

Where is APC, i would love to see some pics of the cast one.

Also paulr33, i need a front facing plenum like the greddy one for a 25/30 engine conversion so i dont have to lower the motor to far and can keep my strut bar.

i have a 25/30 and for 1300 ariel (ISL33P) created a custom plenum that flows a shitloads more than most top jap brands (has flow tests to prove and also comes with 80mm throttle body and bolts to stock runners and fuel rail

ben...

ill get pics of the inside tomorrow to try and show how its pretty much full smooth theres no weld marks inside, no rough surface at all, and has been bench flow tested with less than 2% change within all 6 cylinders which i have recently seen a greddy one bench flow tested and it aint even close to that

Plazmaman Plenums are the best i have seen when looking to purchase a plenum. it works great and looks really good. They make em in some awesome 80tonne press.

go to www.gtr.com.au and have a look there (UAS) $1150

They are easy to install and use the stock throttle body (or you get another flange for any other type) and they use the standard gasket and runners.

Makes me engine bay look sweet and with the RB30DET i can fit my strut brace =)

They have been flow tested and proven to make power as well.

DYNO SHEET BELOW SHOWS RESULTS OF THIS PLAZMAMAN PLENUM & INTERCOOLER KIT FITTED TO A SKYLINE R33 GTS-T WITH STANDARD TURBO, STANDARD ECU (WITH FUEL CUT DEFENDER), STANDARD ENGINE INTERNALS, ADJUSTABLE EXHAUST CAM GEAR, RAM POD AND FULL 3" EXHAUST SYSTEM.

This is what the one from APC looks like.

The difference is that this looks like it is meant to be there and it is apparently identical to the GREDDY manifold but takes the standard injectors (not standard throttle body).

    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
    • You have a knack for photography my friend. It makes the 86 look like a complete bucket. The 34 went with you to Europe and back. It's special. (we all feel the same about our 'shitboxes' that every bystander seems to absolutely love)
