Hey guys I'm now looking for a Full kit for our 33GTR.

before we made 367AWKW on CRD's dyno.

That was with GT-SS turbo's and lots of other stuff.

we have now posted that all up for sale in the for sale section.

Now we have to decide hiow bigger turbo is too big or too small.

We have our eye on a GT3566 SPL from GCG

This turbo is a normal 3540 but with a bigger front wheel and a larger comp cover.

I'm Thinking also at the HKS T04Z, anyone seen what power has been gotten out of these locally.

I'm also thinking twin HKS 30/37s turbos on custom manifolds.

We have just bought our new Hypertune GTR plenum with there new 97mm All Billet TB.

We're looking to make 450awkw with out too much boost yet trying to have as little lag as possible.

Any GOOD input would be great

Cheers

Leave the killer HKS T04-Z combo to me...go the HKS 3037 (hasn't Doughboy got these in stock?) route. Then take it to the track and run some killer times...your gearbox has hardly been used!

a couple of 3037's will get u around 1000hp at the flywheel so way more than 450kw's at the treads! My choice would be a T04Z if you car is even anywhere near the street. Good response and there is an R32 over here that is making more than 620rwhp.

So you are replacing a JUN intake plenum with a Hypertune plenum? I know Hypertune work is excellent, but why?

Also regarding the T04Z, has the white R34 GTR that Jim at CRD has been building been tuned yet as I noticed that is using the T04Z.

Im thinking about replacing my GT-SS's with a T04Z using a .81 housing.

Nick

I've noticed a few guys using the GT4088R now, these have just been released in OZ, have been on back orders for several months

Specifications

Compressor

Trim: 52

Inducer: 63.5mm

A/R: 0.58

Turbine

Trim:78

Exducer: 77mm

A/R: 0.85, 0.95 and 1.06

They have a T4 base flange aswell

Thanks

Tarek

Sorry for being a bit slow but yes all of the exhaust side of the engine is for sale.

As for why the Hypertune plenum, this is because it is a better unit than the JUN item and it will allow a bigger Hypertune 97mm TB where as the JUN is only good for the 80mm Q45. all of the big guns that run the JUN plenum and real big power chop the front of the plenum of and then modify them to suit bigger TB's up to 100mm.

The Hypertune plenum already accomadates this.

The Hypertune plenum is a fair bit lighter than the JUN item also.

Next time you see a JUN unit beside a Hypertune plenum you will see that there is no comparision.

I'm thinking the twin 3037s will be a bit of a goer with the .74 exhaust housing.

    • Hey keep the ideas coming, I'm always keen on projects! But, problem fixed!  I got a cheapie ozito scope from Bunnings and had a good look in and around the bearing and sensor hole. I couldn't see a smoking gun but the bearing looked a bit strange, especially when comparing with a new one. I thought the cover had come off the bearing magnets.  Sorry for pics of a screen, I didn't have an SD card.     Good thing I had the old one to inspect. So, given I'm like a pit crew with wheel bearings and luckily I had a spare bearing because I f**ked up my parts order, I decided to just smash it out. Got the old one out in about an hour. So much easier when the parts haven't had a chance to rust together yet. 😂 And, well, found the problem.    In the second pic at about the 8 o'clock position, you'll see what I think is the tip of the old sensor.  The new sensor has definitely been rubbing but it's all intact, just a little shiny so I'm hoping it's fine.  The car brakes perfectly now and no errors.  I think the job took about 2.5h in the end. 👍🏻 I really appreciate the help in here as usual. Thanks guys.
    • I was only looking because I saw some drops on the ground but it wasn't alot. Recently had it serviced will ask the mech to confirm. Find it strange that it looks standard though, can see in another photo of a random box
    • So...not sure if you know if that has always been there or why you went looking. It could be old damage from a clutch explosion, or even just the gearbox got dropped somewhere along the line. Basically, you should seal it up to stop oil and dust getting into the bellhousing, but it doesn't matter too much and is not structural. I'd suggest something like a glob of JB Weld. BTW what gearbox oil are you running, I would guess the breather has been spewing it everywhere.
    • Hey Duncan thanks for your reply. Sorry mate I know the photos are shit.  Took another photo for reference. Seems the casing does have a hole in it looking on the net, fluid seeping out. Added a photo
    • Very hard to make out what you mean, is it the squarish hole with redline shockproof (probably) under it? Is that pic from on top of the engine with the firewall to the left of pic and engine to the right? Either way, spray the area liberally with degreaser and try again, maybe circle the part you are worried about
